The Lodge at Joe Walker Hollow, privacy at its best with plenty of family space

Joe Walker was the first white settler in the valley area now known as "Walkers Creek" the lodge is located in the hollow where Joe Walker built his home, although the exact location of his home is unknown. The Lodge at Joe Walker Hollow is a very private and secluded get away, miles of pristine wooded trails to walk. The peace and quiet is second to none, includes a stocked bass pond for catch and release fishing, an "under the stars" hot tub; gas fireplace, a large upstairs family room with 72 inch TV, wifi, a large covered porch with a gas grill. Thirty mintutes from VMI and W&L colleges. If you enjoy the outdoors, nature, hiking and privacy you will not be dissappointed.

We had a wonderful visit at the lodge. So many things to do. Great largemouth bass fishing, games to play inside the house, movies to watch, huge property with well taken care of trails and wide open spaces for kids to run. Nice and clean hot tub. Kids had fun fishing and using pedal boat, finding toads, also exploring the creek which is a short walk away. Has everything you could need inside such as full kitchen and supplies, nice beds and bedding. Very spacious lodge. The back porch is great for taking in the views of the mountain and watching the kids play outside. Very private. And of course the stars at night are amazing. Hosts were quick to respond to questions and offered any help we might need. Highly recommend especially if you have young kids. They’ll love it!

Our family of 8 loved this property! We were very impressed with all the provided amenities - our hosts thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, mountain and pond views, and the fascinating cabin decor. There was plenty of space for us to spread out, but still cozy and welcoming. We had a great time and will highly recommend!

Joe Walker Hollow is a relaxing lodge with numerous features that appeal to everyone. After spending 5 days here, it has become a must-stay when in the area. Our group of 8 was attending finals at the Virginia Horse Center. While the 30-minute drive felt long at first, it was easy to commute and the lodge offered a well-needed relaxing environment after a day of horse riding.

Great stay!

Couldn’t be happier with our stay. The place was exactly as described and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. We didn’t have a ton of time there since we were competing at the Virginia horse center but the time we did have was super relaxing. My son and I even had time for a little fishing. The stars at night are amazing

Countryside log cabin retreat

Modernized log cabin nestled in the serene countryside perched on a hill with breathtaking views.. really enjoyed sitting on the porch doing absolutely nothing. plenty of outdoor activities for all ages. Enjoyed a ride into Lexington for a bite and a walk around town. Well equipped place with a nice friendly host.
