Great space and location, quiet forest retreat and very private. The gardens and outside gathering areas are numerous, along with the giant bear sculpture and waterfall you can turn off and on. The inside has thoughtful touches, including dimmer switches on every light and a great electric fireplace with blower. I have stayed here twice!

We could have stayed a couple more days just to enough the outdoor experience at the property. Plan to return next time we need to stay in Bend.

Great hideaway just 15 mins from town!

Property has everything you would need or want to enjoy a long weekend in Bend. Property has lovely grounds to walk on and lots of room in the home to spread out.

Wonderful property! The outdoor space is beautiful and very relaxing. Great location, perfect for two people. The guest house is very private, nicely decorated, clean and the bed is very comfortable. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We will definitely stay here again.

Forest retreat

Private and quiet house in the forest near Tumalo State Park. The house was spotless, and appointed with modern touches, including a laundry room, dimmer switches, private driveway and gorgeous backyard with numerous areas to sit outside, bbq, and a "one of a kind" gigantic bear sculpture with waterfall. Loved it and will go back.

It was very peaceful. You could sit outside on the porch and drink coffee.(Without hearing traffic) Just a few minutes drive away from Bend.

Big Bear - great place

We stayed at Big Bear over a long weekend and enjoyed the property quite a bit. In fact, we immediately checked to see if it was available to rent for our next long weekend (it's popular, and so was already booked). The outdoor areas are truly stunning, and the location gives easy, easy access to Tumalo, downtown Bend, the west side of Bend, and the always wonderful Shevlin Park. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

What a beautiful oasis in the desert

What a beautiful oasis in the desert. Me and my family stayed at the property from July 4-7. Celebrated Fourth of July and my birthday. It was only 10 minutes to town and close to so many amazing central Oregon things. The zip line, the waterfall, & the horses were such a plus. The inside was clean and the amenities were a blessing. Jan was very nice and helpful

It was a very quiet place to stay. The kitchen/living room lights flickered the whole time, which made us concerned about fire hazard. No instructions for using the TV. Otherwise, it was a nice place to stay.

Perfect, private oasis get away

Impressed by interior and grounds. Definitely will return! We did accidentally break 2 votive in the bathroom, adjacent to shower door. Very very sorry and tried to replace but could not locate exact size.

Perfect Find

This was our first stay at Big Bear, which we reserved sight-unseen online. Upon arrival, we found the property to be even more beautiful and spectacular than we expected. On top of that, the owner, Jan, who lives onsite, was so gracious and welcoming. She gave us full run of the property, including having our 2 granddaughters out to see the bear sculpture and waterfall, and play on the big toy. We were there 13 nights. The accommodations were spacious and clean. Very nice set -up. It feels out of town, but it's only 5 minutes away. Very quiet. We will definitely stay here again, each time we come to Bend.

Oasis retreat

What a perfect vacation getaway. The property is immaculate with resort style landscaping. I sat outside every morning listens to birds while drinking my coffee. You are close to many parks (Shevlin and Tumalo). Only 6 miles to bend. Inside was spotless with all basic necessities including shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Kitchen has microwave and mini fridge with toaster and coffee maker. No stove but does have a fire pit outside for s’mores and trawler bbq grill if you feel like cooking. The bed felt small to us since we are used to California King and it was a bit soft but otherwise perfect. Great TV and WiFi. I really did not want to leave!
