Cabin was exactly what my family needed!

The cabin was the perfect getaway for my little family. It was quiet with a view. And a short drive to the city for whatever you need. Would book again.

Great stay

This place is relaxing and beautiful, the owner Debbie was great, she recently upgraded the WiFi which I saw a lot of people mention on previous comments but we had no issues and it was super fast. My friends and I went there to ride our motorcycles on the tail of the dragon and other surrounding beautiful roads. I definitely recommend staying at this location for whatever your vacation plans are .

Loved it

We were in the area for a car rally at Fontana Dam second time I’ve rented a house to stay in. This house by far was my favorite one so far and probably will try to run it again next year same time.

Nice cabin

Semi-remote cabin with pretty much everything you need. Only wish we had easy local access to firewood for the fireplace and firepit. Convenient to great hiking areas and fantastic roads for sports car drivers. Would stay there again.

Gorgeous cabin

Cabin was very pretty and there was every thing we needed furnished. The driveway was a little intimidating but once you go up and down one time it was no problem. Very quiet and relaxing and the view was beautiful.

Great time in the Smokies.

Great place. Pretty secluded, clean and close to Appalachian trail, Lake Fontana and Santeetlah. Debbie was nice and helpful. In the cabin we found a lot of info about the area including the history. Thank you.

Relaxing stay in the enchanted forest

What a beautiful cabin. Deborah really had it decorated and set up for a perfect get away in the mountains. Everything we needed and more. The wood burning fire place was a dream. Coming up from Florida the fire kept us cozy. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for having us. Great place to unplug and unwind.

Very comfortable

Very pleasant owners with excellent communication. Just as advertised, clean, with all necessary equipment and amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Road access can be challenging for some (very steep drive) but it’s just as described in the listing. Secluded and quiet, we enjoyed our stay and would (will) definitely stay again.

Beautiful mountain vacation

Our trip to NC was to experience The Tail of the Dragon on our motorcycles. Oh did we get that in spades. 318 curves in 11 miles, everywhere, not just on the 129. The cabin is perfectly situated to enjoy some great driving loops. Loaded with lots of maps and brochures to help you get oriented to enjoy your stay. There was nothing that we wanted for. We had some unfortunate wheel bearing issues on our truck so had to spend one day repairing it. Our hostess along with a great neighbour were over the top helpful. Lending us tools we didn’t have and even a blanket to put on the ground. Southern hospitality at its finest. A million thanks Deb and all the blessings in the future.

Very nice cabin in a secluded area.

The cabin was very clean and included everything you could need. The furniture was all in good shape and comfortable. The owners, Roy and Debbie stopped by and introduced themselves and offered any help we needed including getting our motorcycle off the trailer. Everything is well setup, so we were in need of nothing during our stay. The location is remote, which makes it quiet and peaceful, but also means you have a bit of a drive to get anywhere. As is mentioned, the driveway is steep and somewhat intimidating the first trip up and down, but I quickly adapted and had no issues with the truck and trailer or the motorcycle, If we go to this area again, my wife and I would definitely consider staying here again.

Beautiful cabin tucked in the mountains

My boyfriend and I came up for a long weekend to ride the tale of the Dragon/deals gap and all the other beautiful areas. The leaves were changing as it was the end of October. Our stay at this home was amazing. Beautiful cabin. Nicely furnished, everything you could need to cook all types of kitchen utensils and accessories. Beautiful outdoor deck overlooking the mountainside. Fireplace Within the cabin as well as on the property. There is also a beautiful walking trail up the side of the mountain behind the property here. If you want something fairly secluded this is the place to go, town is about 25 minutes if you're wanting to dine or shop. Cannot say enough about the hospitality from the owners, very nice and accommodating people. Would definitely come here again.

Beautiful Cabin and Great Experience

We stayed 8 nights at the cabin and found it to be well furnished with all we needed to enjoy our stay. Conveniently located 20 minutes from closets city center and 15 minutes from Deals Gap, the road has been recently paved and it made it easier to ride our motorcycles to and from the cabin. The driveway is partially travelled and a little steep for those Beginner motorcycle riders like myself :), but not an issue if you are more experienced. Cell signal is 3G on Verizon only and internet service is very slow. Again, not an issue if you are not planning to work and only need to make Phone calls. We really enjoyed our experience and would definitely stay again!

Wonderful and Relaxing!

The property owner, Debbie, was on site upon our arrival. She welcomed us warmly and provided great suggestions about the surrounding area. The cabin was spotless and well-stocked with everything that we needed. Thoughtful details, such as complimentary soap from a local shop and the fire pit readied with tinder was a nice touch. The view from the deck was lovely. WiFi service was consistent, but slow. Do not expect to be able to stream any videos/movies or play games with this WiFi, but it is adequate to check email or look up area attractions. The location is about 25 minutes to town (Robbinsville), about 50 minutes to Cherokee. Overall, a very relaxing and comfortable stay--would recommend to anyone!

The property was great, but it was further away from attractions and activities than I wanted. The Internet and the television selections were very limited. The internet was not strong and was limited. Television was basic and only 1 TV in the cabin. The house was very well stocked with towels, sheets , bed pillows. The kitchen had everything that we needed for preparing full meals. Great deck with grill and outdoor meal seating. Nice view of nearby mountain, but no extended long range mountain chains I would strongly recommend this location if you like solitude and privacy.

AWESOME!

This is our 3rd time we rented a cabin from the owner. The first 2 times were in the summer and this time we decided to visit in the fall. The cabin is remote and the view from the deck is breath taking. Each day after we returned from a great hike we sat out on the deck for happy hour and enjoyed the beautiful view of the mountains. It's so peaceful. The owner has a real knack for decorating and as always the cabin was spotless and the kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed a nice fire in the fireplace each night and the stars at night are brilliant. The other 2 years we stayed at the "Retreat" and this year we decided to stay at this cabin. There is so much to do - hiking, horse back riding, rafting, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, zip lining, mountain biking and I'm sure I left something off. The cabin is just like the pictures show. We plan to return again - we have never been disappointed.

オーナー : Deborah Perron

I have fond memories growing up in Maine where we had a camp on a lake. We had a lot of family holidays at that camp. And, then my family moved to Florida. My girlfriend's family had a cabin in Highlands, NC, so when my husband (Roy) and I needed a vacation, that's where we rented, and after that we were both hooked on North Carolina. After going a few more times, we started looking for our own cabin. My husband was in the construction business and can fix just about anything. I went to Florida State University and majored in Housing & Interior Design, so we make a good team when it comes to providing a well-maintained and decorated cabin.

We bought our second cabin that was originally called 'The Chalet' from an auction ad that my husband saw in our local newspaper. After purchasing it, we have vacationed there for over 18 years to get out of the Florida heat. Now we are retired and live here during the season. We loved the beautiful weather and mountain views so much that when the Mountain Retreat became available we decided to purchase it for additional family gatherings. And, then a few years later, the Ridge Haven became available. Everybody we knew or worked with wanted to rent the cabins, so that's how we got started. We love this County with it's country roads and laid back feeling. It is so peaceful and quiet here. Maybe an owl at night, sighting of hummingbirds and several type of birds that sing during the day. It's a great place to live or visit.

Our private road and the hiking trail is a great place to walk our dogs, oh and the cats, too. The weather is just like being in air-conditioning in the summer and it's so brisk in the Spring and Fall. The foliage is beautiful any time of the year, even after the leaves have fallen. And, the locals are so friendly, always waving as they pass by. There are so many nearby outdoor activities, weekly social benefits, arts and craft events, mountain music & heritage festivals and three pristine lakes (Fontana, Santeetlah & Cheoah) for all types of water adventures and fishing. The cabin is a great place to come back to after a fun day riding the roads or hiking the trails; or just hang out here all day and do nothing.
