Beautiful water view and AC worked, but house had so many decorations, heavy drapes, fake plants, etc that the dust level was too much for some of my family as it stirred up their allergies. Thankfully they had family in the area where they could stay. Somethings are in need of repair or need replacing, like oven took extra long to cook, no knobs to use vent or lights over stove, grill was disgusting, mattresses aren’t comfortable, pier in need of attention with loose boards, freezer door hard to open on main fridge, etc. Finally, host sent multiple texts, requested phone call next day to have me lock a closet for her, kept texting asking what she could do to ensure 5 star review, but only left one partial roll of toilet paper per bathroom and one kitchen garbage bag for a 9 day stay. We felt she cared more about a 5 star review than welcoming her guests.

We had such a fantastic stay! My husband and I just wanted a very quiet and relaxing vacation with our family and that is exactly what we got. The house, the property, the view of the water every morning and evening was beyond our expectations. We still can’t stop talking about the sunsets!! Wow!We also liked the fact that everything was just right around the corner! We hope to come back every year.Melinda was a wonderful host as well! She’s extremely helpful and was quick to answer whatever questions we had.

Relaxing family getaway

My wife and I stayed here for a week with our 3 teenage boys the first week of June. The house was everything we could have asked for.

Manteo Delight

We spent two weeks in this beautiful HUGE mansion and loved the many features ... big rooms, king size beds (3), extra large kitchen, sitting room, pool (too cool to open) views, double garage, privacy. And I discovered a bike trail .9 mile away that took me to downtown Mantea without having to bike on the busy roads with little or no shoulders. We found interesting places to visit nearby but mostly just enjoyed our stay in this large comfortable home.

They spied on us with cameras inside the property

We found a camera hidden in a plant above the cabinet inside the house the lady had the audacity to tell me we shouldn’t expect privacy when staying at a Vrbo home outside the house I’m all about security cameras. Inside is beyond an invasion of privacy and breach of contract. She tells me her husband is an attorney so good luck lol. He should no better! This lady text us because our kids jumped in and out of the pool. No cover no signs. But bizarre to think they were watching us that closely. Last but not least the listing says there is a hot tub. Great spot to relax

We rented the property for a 2 week beach vacation, and wanted to stay on the " sound" side instead of staying oceanfront. The sunsets were spectacular and the home was beautiful. My husband enjoyed crabbing and fishing off the deck. daaily.

What a gem!!!

This residence has it all! A architecturally stunning home, well stocked, ample space, beautiful pool, amazing sunsets and lovely neighbors! When we weren't in the pool or playing games inside, you could find us on the long private dock watching boats lazily motoring by, cheering as the native birds dove to catch fish or staring at the gorgeous sunsets. The neighborhood is quiet, nestled in the pines and separated from the typical tourist-y areas, but close to Manteo and the southern shores of the Outer Banks. Downtown Manteo is very close by; only about a 5 minute drive from this beautiful home. We enjoyed walking the main street and visiting the locally owned shops. Enjoying the local culture and fare, we also admired the beautiful boats docked at this welcoming seaport. Folks were very kind and welcoming, offering local food and fare suggestions. The fact that the town sits right along the bay waters only makes this historic town more enticing. If you're looking for a welcome respite from the hub-bub of the more populated areas of the OBX, but still want to be close enough to join the action, come here! And if you have any concerns while hanging in this stunning home, Melinda responds almost immediately and is quick to help! Thank you, Melinda! We are looking forward to visiting your home again soon!!

Fantastic Secluded Getaway

We can't say enough great things about this property and its owner. Melinda was a great host. She reached out ahead of our arrival and stayed in contact throughout. We've stayed in a number of homes over the years, but this was the best by far. The home was beautiful inside and out. It was clearly well-loved and carefully maintained. It was tastefully decorated and welcoming. We've been staying oceanfront in May in OBX for many years, but I'm glad we chose this home to try fall on the sound. It was on a quiet dead-end road close to the small shops and restaurants in the village of Manteo, but also within easy driving distance for anything you'd like to do on your vacation to OBX. We are already planning the timing of our next trip to this home!

Perfect Vacation Hideaway

We loved the area as it was quiet, relaxing, and beautiful. We enjoyed staying along the sound watching sunsets, pelicans, and fishing. Downtown Manteo was charming and nagshead was a short distance away for additional restaurants, shopping, and the beach. The house was spacious and had all the amenities needed. Melinda our host communicated regularly and made check in, check out a breeze and also answered any questions quickly. Highly recommend

Absolutely beautiful home

We had the most lovely experience with this house. All the beds were 4 posters, The pool was nice (Except for the equipment to clean it, which was broken), It was right on the water and the host was fabulous. There was plenty of room for everyone.

Paradise Away From Home

Overall, we had a great time. Location is perfect and the views were amazing! We caught a ton of crab and pinfish off the dock. We had to leave a night early because the ac unit upstairs was NOT working. It was set to 71 but it was 89 and unbearable. It worked for at least 4 nights of our stay but struggled the rest of the time. The owner said the AC was being looked the day of checkout. Make sure to bring your own sheets for the beds, we had to run to Walmart the day of check-in. We had to pay the pet fee once we got there as it was not included in the fee from the beginning. Overall the owner was very responsive and easy to work with.

The most amazing vacation

Beautiful home on the sound. Had everything we needed. The fishing was great off the dock. The pool was clean and enjoyed everyday by us all. We can’t wait to come back next year and also the owner made everything perfect for us throughout the trip.

Family vacation to remember

Everything about this house was awesome. The furnishings, the decor, the location was just breathtaking. The sunsets from the pier was amazing. We had an egg hunt for the kids in the front and family game night twice in the evenings. We had plenty of room for our group of 10 to spread out and enjoy themselves. The jetted tub was an absolute favorite of the kids , they swam every night. The host Melinda was in contact throughout the stay making sure everything was great for us. For sure if you are looking for a home that looks like it was out of a better homes and gardens magazine with all the comfortable and amenities of a 5 star Hotel this is it. Thanks again for the wonderful time!!!

Beautiful property with free sunsets

Fabulous property and views to die for. Every aspect of our stay was perfect from start to end. Melinda, the owner of the property was great and responsive to questions and made us feel at home in her beautiful home. This is not your typical rental property. Everything is top of the line. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the beach but close to everything. we will be back

Beach Vacation 2023

Gorgeous spacious home with lovely views of the sound in a private neighborhood. Enjoyed the pool and the comforts of the residence. Loved being able to bring our dogs! Bathroom set up was a bit tricky at times between all of the bedrooms and wish the beach was a bit closer, but over all we greatly enjoyed the property. The owner was very friendly and helpful. It was nice to be able to contact her with questions. Thank you!
