This was a lovely place, we spent our mornings tree bathing and watching turkeys and our nights star gazing. It’s close to everything but you legit need a 4x4 to get up the mountain and watch for cows.

Thank you for the wonderful review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the peaceful mornings, wildlife, and star-filled nights. Just to clarify for future guests, a 4x4 is generally only necessary during winter months when snow and icy conditions can make the mountain roads more challenging. We’d love to have you stay with us again!

The drive out from Rapid City was further than expected, but with 5 young kids we really came to appreciate the beauty of the curvy, winding roads and the solitude of the mountain. Hiking to the top of the mountain above the cabin was a definite bonus along with open spaces and privacy.

Beautiful location. Easy to find.Shag carpet was kinda disgusting.. difficult to keep clean. Railing up stairs was loose & some of boards on the deck were fall risk. The truck in front of garage, made one feel like someone was in there! Creepy

Very nice out of the way cabin

We very much enjoyed staying here. It is a bit out of the way, but the roads are well maintained. If you want your vacation to include some quiet relaxation this is a great choice. If you like being in the middle of the action maybe not. The cabin is rustic enough to feel like a cabin but modern enough to be comfortable.
