Follow the mountain roads to our cozy home in the trees: the Dove Shack! Just 7 mins from the artsy and walkable downtown Burnsville, the Dove Shack has relaxing spaces both inside and out. Chill on the porch in a rocking chair or swing. Enjoy an outdoor meal at the picnic table. Spend your day exploring the shops & cafes in downtown Burnsville, tubing down the Toe River, or hiking Mt. Mitchell. In the evening, gather around the fire pit to make s’mores and enjoy a local brew. Burnsville is a small town with much to offer visitors including the tallest mountain peaks in the eastern United States, great restaurants and brewery, amazingly starry and dark night skies, endless outdoor adventure, and a short drive to Spruce Pine, Marshall, Weaverville and DOWNTOWN ASHEVILLE!

Perfect!

The pictures don’t do this property justice. This house was perfect! We were there to celebrate one of friends birthdays and had the best time. The house is spacious and CLEAN. It is fully prepped for whatever you may need whether you come with little ones, friends or pets. I highly recommend this property.

Trip to paradise

After staying in the mountains last week, it has been hard to come back home to the daily grind. I am already trying to figure out how I can come back. The Dove Shack is the best Vrbo I have ever stayed in. There were 7 people in our family on this trip. We wanted to be in the mountains and be close to nature. The deer visited a few mornings and evenings and there were lots of birds. It was nice to sit outside on the large porch and swing or relax/ look at nature/read on the rocking chairs. It was nice to have two living/den areas where we could spread out and play video games or watch TV. The kitchen was nicely stocked, and we found all of the things we needed to cook all our breakfast and dinner there. The kitchen table was nice and large enough we could all eat together unlike some other places we have stayed. The master bedroom is amazingly large. The 3 bedrooms and den spaces gave us plenty of sleeping options. Having 3 bathrooms was wonderful. We enjoyed exploring the nearby town of Burnsville. I would highly recommend staying at the Dove Shack and would love to come back soon. Thank you so much for sharing your mountain paradise.

Great family time

This home met all of our needs for a short family getaway after Christmas. The owners were very responsive to questions and requests. The property was a little difficult to find, so make sure you read the driving directions PRIOR to arriving at the property. The neighborhood was very quiet - there are several dogs running loose, but they did not both us. We really enjoyed the fire pit at night. The kitchen appears to be newly renovated with nice appliances and fully stocked with dishes and utensils and it was really nice to have the 3 bathrooms!
