Blue Mountain Getaway

Relax with the whole family at this cozy 2 bedroom home. Everything you need for a peaceful getaway is provided. Kid friendly with a fenced back yard and quiet neighbors. Small breed dogs allowed - please check with us for larger breeds before booking. Sleeping accommodations include: Queen bed, Twin/Full bunk bed, Rollaway bed, a couch, a queen size air mattress, and a futon.

Some things to do nearby are:

Live theater performances at the Elgin Opera House. Check out what’s coming at: elginoperahouse.com.

Take a ride on the Eagle Cap Excursion Train! Their schedule can be found at: eaglecaptrainrides.com. There is also a printed schedule in our guide book located in the home.

If your into history, take a visit to the Elgin Museum in our little downtown. Open Thursday - Saturday 10 am - 4 pm.

Want an adrenaline rush? Take a raft ride down the Grande Ronde River with Joining Waters. Their contact information can be found at: joiningwaters.com/contact-us.

If relaxation is what you have in mind, the home is located a short 29 minute drive from our local Hot Lake Resort and soaking tubs! You can book a soak online at: hotlakelodge.com/the-hot-springs/
From personal experience, it is worth the drive.

Looking for a date night? Check out the Granada Theater (18 miles from the house). Showtimes and ticket prices can be found at: www.lagrandemovies.com

We also have a seasonal drive-in theater (19 miles from the house) gates open at 9 pm and movies start at dusk. If your interested in what movies are playing check out their link at: www.lagrandemovies.com

Sight seeing can be done at Jubilee lake (33 miles from the house) between July and November every year. The lake is beautiful with a wrap around walking path to enjoy the scenery.

We have a fishing hole named Roulet Pond that is stocked every so often. It’s quiet and only a 4 mile drive from the house!

Boating, fishing, hiking, and more can be done at Wallowa Lake (39 miles from the house). Take a packed lunch and enjoy the outdoors at one of their many picnic tables.

We have new amenities!

During summer months you will also have access to our community swimming pool free of charge to you (0.3 miles from the house) - a pool schedule will be located in the guidebook inside the home!

Need to get a workout in? The Blue Mountain Getaway has a membership for our guests at the local Olympis Fitness Gym (0.3 miles from the house). Just fill out the gyms waiver, swipe the card, and get your blood pumping!

Great place to stay, close to the high school where our event was and close to local restaurants. We cooked in the kitchen and glad to find all items we needed. Rooms are very comfortable.

The home’s location is within walking distance to the train station and the Opera house. Both venues were worth the trip. The house was clean and well stocked. There was plenty of room too.

Comfortable place to stay

Convenient Location

Plenty of room, well supplied, worked out perfectly for what we needed. We were in town to ride the Eagle Cap Excursion Train. Communication with owner went very well.

Great jump off point for rafting!

We had a great stay and everything in the house was really thoughtful. We enjoyed being able to relax and watch movies before taking off for rafting in the morning which was only 20 minutes away.

Lovely stay while attending EOU Class of 2023 Graduation. House had all amenities for party of 5 for our weekend stay. Finished off with a trip to Wallowa Lake.

So clean!!

She was a great host! My son wasn’t feeling well and she let us check in early! Made the trip so much better. He rested and was good to go. Also the place is very homie and comfortable. Is is an older house but for price and age a great value. We would stay again!!!

Elgin getaway

Had everything we needed plus some extras. Very clean, convenient location, perfect size for our group (4 people), with extras like cold drinks in frig, snacks, and coffee selection. Very welcoming. Easy communication with host. Definitely would stay here again.

Myself and 4 friends, loved how easy the property was to find and the location. We were able to walk around town and shop. It was also close to the Elgin Train. We also liked to available of several sleeping options (all 5 of us had our own sleeping surface. However we did struggle with the keypad when trying to enter the rental. We also left in the evening for a stroll around town and struggled getting in the rental again. It even set off an alarm. We tried calling a contact person who was unavailable because their phone line was down. Fortunately we waited and retried successfully.

Basketball tournament

This is the second time that we have stayed there because my son has a basketball tournament and plays in the Elgin high school, which is right down the road. It’s a great neutral location for all the games and the host is nice and responds very quickly! And my kids love it that it’s decorated for Christmas during Christmas time!

Charming Property in Elgin, Oregon

We had a wonderful stay at this charming property in Elgin, Oregon, before heading out on the Eagle Cap Train Excursion. The home is located in a peaceful neighborhood, but still conveniently close to the train station and within walking distance of several great places to eat. The house itself was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed to feel right at home. The owner clearly takes great care in ensuring guests have an enjoyable experience, going the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Highly recommend this place if you're planning a trip to Elgin!

We have a driveway long enough to park two toy trailers along with your vehicles and there is extra parking along the street in front of the house. Elgin is a small town with welcoming people. The home is located a short walk away from our restaurants and local bars. We are also located just a couple blocks down from the Elgin Opera House.
