Glamorous Biarritz and the Basque region an hour away and also Bordeaux, affectionately known as little Paris, is a couple of hours drive. The countryside nearby is called the Chalosse Region, being lush and green with winding roads and gentle hills. Interesting little towns and villages are sprinkled liberally around the region.
