Lazy Bear Cottage - Animal-Free Home

Come enjoy the lazy lifestyle at Lazy Bear Cottage, only 10-minute drive from downtown Helen! We have your family covered at this extremely private creek front cottage. You have 3.2 acres to roam and enjoy the wildlife as you sit out on the large screened-in covered back deck or soak in the 7-Person hot tub spa also screened-in! With your family in mind we have stocked the kitchen with all your cooking needs and have a Keurig/Drip coffee maker to enjoy a cup of locally roasted coffee from Jumping Goat Coffee Company (Our favorite is the Southern Pecan). Enjoy grilling out off of the main floor front deck and step right into the large family room with a beautiful 8 seater table where everyone can sit and enjoy family time!

The master bedroom is located conveniently on the main floor and boasts a large king bed with ensuite full bathroom. Sliding door onto the screened-in porch to enjoy the sounds of the creek first thing in the morning or slip out with your morning cup of coffee to enjoy nature! Don't worry there is plenty of room for others if you still want to bring them to this wonderful peaceful paradise! In this cabin we have three other guest bedrooms. Upstairs is another King Luxurious Bed with ensuite and Smart TV, downstairs you have a guest bedroom with Queen bed. Downstairs also has a game room with foosball, Smart TV, and a futon bed to sleep another 2 people if desired!

Right off of the game room, you can walk outside to a screed-in and covered patio where your large hot tub awaits! We drain, clean, refill and set to heat for each guest so that you just have to step out and enjoy. You have views of the sprawling hillside and creek that regularly have wildlife to enjoy watching such as deer, squirrels, birds, and the occasional turtle that likes to creep on by!

We created this private creekside cottage so that we could help families share memories together. We have lots of board and card games, a multigame table, and a fun casino-style bar to enjoy laughs through the night in the large living room with a seasonal gas fireplace. You will fall in love with the warmth and comfort you find at Lazy Bear Cottage.

Be sure to bring extra of these items and any other items you may need for your stay

From time we pulled into the driveway, which was nice to have such a big area to park and turn around in, till we pulled out, we enjoyed our stay at Lazy Bear Cottage!! One of the best kitchens providing PLENTY of dishes & pots and pans, etc,,, We also like that ALL floors had their own bathroom. The dart board was used a lot !! 1 complaint was the bottom floor was very warm and stuffy!! Said it really needed a ceiling fan in the rooms !! Luckily my son had a small fan he had brought with him, said it helped! 2.They also said the sliding door curtains on bottom floor were about ready to fall down because of the curtain rod not heavy enough to hold the weight !!

Great place. Very peaceful. There are plenty of towels and blankets, which I appreciate. The host does need to purchase new chairs out back by the fire pit, because this are is super great. We saw three deer and a wild turkey every morning and many evenings. We even saw a huge woodpecker. Just lovely. We didn’t see bear; prayer answered lol. It was a nice stay. Conveniently located to Helen, not too close not too far.

Everything was clean and fully stocked. Fire pit out back was so fun to make s’mores with the kids. Plenty of games and activity tables. Gas fireplace was warm and cozy. I highly recommend staying here.

Perfect Cabin!

This cabin is located in a great location with easy access to Helen and surrounding sights with lots of hiking trails. It is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, coffee makers, and kitchen utensils. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner who is a super host. He goes beyond to make sure his guests have everything they need. The cabin is clean and well maintained. We do plan to stay here again!

Cozy and fun!

Everything we needed was provided. We also own rental properties so we notice the little things. Plastic kitchen storage bags and the cups were wonderful. Property was clean and full of fun activities and games.

The property was just what my family needed. Spacing was great for our crew of 6-8. Kids enjoyed the creek being right at us. Firepit was great for smores! We all loved the hot tub. Property was near all attractions and Helen.

Very great stay!

The cabin was very nice and had everything you would need and was close to everything! I loved how it had plenty of gaming tables and game options to help entertain during the evenings or downtime. The hot tub was great to soak in after spending a day in town or hiking! The best feature in this rental was the shampoo and bodywash in every shower! Wish that was normal in every rental, made it so nice and easy! Only 10 minutes from helen and close to so many hiking trips and falls. Never seen much wildlife but a bear did get into one of the trashcans one night. Even had it strapped shut but it drug it away and broke it enough to get in. Was cool that one was near at least. Loved the screened in porches on top and bottom, that was a huge addition to this place! Loved sitting out back and watching and listening to the creek flow and never getting ate up by bugs. The only downfall to the place was the 1/2 mile drive off the hwy. About a 1/4 of it was rough and gravel on a steep incline. Made it up every time at least though. That and the 12 drip coffee maker didn't work well. Recommend 10/10

The perfect weekend getaway!

I can't say enough good about our stay. The location was great and the cabin had everything we needed. My kids and brother had a blast playing darts,ping pong,pool, and air hockey! The hot tub was perfect for relaxing in the evening. My favorite part was the creek. It was so peaceful. I can't recommend this cabin enough. We will definitely be coming back.

We enjoyed our stay at this rental. It is just about 5-1/2 miles to Helen. The property is beautiful, especially the creek in the back yard. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The house is well maintained and very clean. Plenty of games. There isn’t a bathroom on the main level in the living room area, so everyone has to use the master bedroom bathroom, or go upstairs to the bedroom-bathroom upstairs. The master bathroom has an automatic light/fan than comes on when you go in. It stays on about 15 minutes, which is annoying when you get up during the night and the light and fan stays on. It also turns off while you are showering and you have to shake the shower curtain to turn it back on. The master bed sinks towards the middle. The road leading to the cabin is gravel, and the hill leading in was quite bumpy and rutty. I’m sure it has to be maintained regularly, and maybe that will be repaired soon. There was plenty of parking for all our family’s vehicles. The hot tub is huge, and everyone really enjoyed it. My grown kids enjoyed the fire pit near the creek. I would definitely recommend this home for a group or large family.

My family loved our stay and want to return for future visits.

Lazy Bear Cottage provided a cozzy home feeling for my family. There was plenty of room for all. There were both indoor and outdoor activities that were loved by all ages. My 7 year old grandson hasn’t stopped talking about it and wants us to buy it. I recommend that any family like ours, parents, children and grands stay here. It would also work well for a group retreat. We also enjoyed activities in Helen.

Our stay

We loved it. The creek was awesome. We thought the stocked pond would be bigger but it was cute. We didn't catch anything but had fun trying. It rained for 2 days so the hot tub was used a lot. We loved the large dining room table.

We had a fun and relaxing stay!

We had a fun and relaxing Thanksgiving week at Lazy Bear Cottage! With the chill in the air we enjoyed keeping warm with the fireplace inside and had a fire in the outside fire pit every evening. The cabin had everything needed for our stay. Spent a day in Helen and hiked up to see Ana Ruby Falls another day. Enjoyed our stay and recommend to everyone coming to north Georgia!

Wish we had stayed longer!

The cabin was absolutely perfect for our family! The proximity to downtown Helen and the other state parks made it ideal for being able to pop in and out between nap times with the kids. We honestly enjoyed the little town area of Sautee the most, and there was a park just down the road. It was also the most well stocked house we’ve rented, and didn’t even have to use the extra supplies we had packed. Our kids loved having a bonfire each night and running around all the property during the day. It’s the perfect combination of getting away from all the busyness of Helen, but still being close enough to get into town. All of us wish we had made this a longer trip!

Beautiful Space, Great Location

We stayed here with our extended family, our kids, their spouses, and families...we had a party of ten at the cabin. The space is well stocked, and really comfortable. The 3 adult couples had privacy, and the kids had their own play and sleep space! We LOVED the upstairs/main level balcony as a regular hangout. The kids and adults loved playing and sitting in the creek in the back yard, and the firepit was a great place to relax late into the evening. The property had LOTS of wildlife, we saw an armadillo in the evening near the firepit, a raccoon and deer in the backyard while relaxing in the creek, had an early morning visit from a bear in the front yard, and saw a small herd of deer and a brown owl early one evening when returning from town. I highly recommend Lazy Bear Cabin, and plan to rent again in the future. The Location is super convenient too, as it's a short drive to many local tourist places.

We LOVE Helen and the GA mountains. We purchased this cute cottage on a private creek front property with guests in mind! We wanted to be able to share this place and our favorite mountain town with everyone and this cottage is PERFECT for couples or families looking to get away from the busy lifestyle and be LAZY and enjoy nature! We certainly love running away to our little cottage on occasions and hope that you all LOVE this place as much as we do!

We wanted to be able to share a space with incoming guests that was both private and close to Helen and hiking trail and all the wineries! We think we found the perfect spot and right on a creek too which is super peaceful in the mornings!
