Sea Captain's House - Beautiful Water View, Steps to Beach & Main Street

Located overlooking Chatham's beautiful Oyster Pond, this home is the perfect location for your vacation. Take advantage of the beach just outside your door or wander down the street into Chatham center! Enjoy so much of Chatham - without even getting in your car!

This Sea Captain's house includes five bedrooms (sleeps three on first floor and six on second floor), full kitchen and dining area, two living room areas with two TVs, a water view covered porch and laundry room. A lovely patio overlooking the water provides a great spot for BBQ grilling, with plenty of outdoor seating. There are four and a half bathrooms, as well as an outdoor shower. A game room area in the Sea Captain's House includes a foosball table.

Linens (bed and bath) are included for the 2023 season. This property also has two smaller units (the Windmill #2498497 and Carriage House #2499552) that share the driveway and parking area. If you are interested in booking these units as well, for a larger group, please inquire.

-Pets are not allowed.
-We do not allow parties/events to be held at our properties.
-Please do not move furniture within or between properties.
-Please limit parking for Sea Captain's House to three cars maximum.
-Please do not drive on the grass.
-The primary renter on the property is required to be on site for the duration of the rental.

Wonderful house in great lovation

My family loved staying at the Captains House. A beautiful old home, thoughtfully renovated, in a perfect location for walking into town but also close to the natural beauty of the Cape. A lovely view of Oyster Pond. Great beach nearby for swimming and kaiaking. Well equipped with everything you could need. The owners were responsive.

Thanksgiving on the Cape.

We had a wonderful stay. Such a great house, so close Chatham. It's a great walking neighborhood. Our hosts were terrific. We enjoyed a family Thanksgiving we will cherish for years to come.

We loved staying at this house

The house was a great place to stay with an abundance of bedrooms and bathrooms and areas to sit and enjoy each others company. It was very clean, and is in a great location. Staying here made for a great trip to Cape Cod.

Chatham charm

Our family of six plus a few friends enjoyed a wonderful week despite the weather at this charming pond side home! This home is ideal for having guests due to the flexible first floor layout. The views of Oyster pond did not disappoint and the location is ideal!

Chatham House Stay

This house was a lovely place for a family to relax and enjoy each other. It was spacious, comfortable, and clean, and it was so close to downtown that we often walked there to explore the stores, eat, and browse. I highly recommend this home! It was a perfect location, and across from a beach, too! Everything we needed was there.

Perfect Cape Cod house!

Family vacation

The house and the location was perfect for our family. Close to town and the beach made adventures with the grandkids a breeze. We loved playing the board games they had at night. Their house was beautiful, we fell in love with Chatham…..we highly recommend the town and the home

Beautiful Chatham

Autumn Get Away. Memorable weekend visiting our daughter and her husband. Cape Cod, Chatham, quiet, beautiful autumn days. Nothing here not to like. This beautiful seaside Captains Cottage was everything more that we could hope for. Perfect stay.

Location, location, location

My family has been vacationing in Chatham since before I was born, so we have stayed in most every part of town over the years. But the location of the Sea Captain may be the most accessible house we've rented to date. You can see Oyster Pond from the front windows and walk to the beach there in 5 minutes. You're also just down the street from the Village Market (local grocery) and nearly as close to the park where the Chatham A's play in the Cape Cod summer baseball league. And the middle of town (Squire, etc) is maybe 10 minutes. Even a walk to Lighthouse Beach is within reason (20-ish mins). So the Sea Captain is a great springboard to most anywhere in Chatham. The house itself has been nicely restored and is deceptively large, with a bathroom for every bedroom in the house and a second fridge, sink and counter area in back. Also an outdoor shower, foosball table and two large TVs in the communal spaces. And the two patio areas offer outdoor space to relax and take in a lovely view of Oyster Pond. The owners were also quick to respond when we had questions, which wasn't often. Overall, staying at the Sea Captain was a great experience and we would do so again in a heartbeat.

The perfect getaway

The Sea Captain's House was perfect in every way - comfort, location (short walk to town), and beautiful view. The house is well appointed and provided great open living space for us to share together, as well as spacious bedrooms, each with their own bath for extra privacy. The beds were exceptionally comfotable. We look forward to staying here again!

Perfect Summer Escape

I have rented houses in Chatham for the past 40 years. Some people say I have rented every house in Chatham. The Sea Captain's House wins the prize as the BEST I have ever rented. The house has LOCATION, BEAUTIFUL DECOR and FULLY STOCKED for a first class stay. You can park your car in the driveway because the beach is across the street, town is up the hill, a grocery store is down the road and the Chatham A's field is a quick stroll behind the house. The house decor has a warm inviting feel. The wide plank floors, exposed beams and large open floor plan with the kitchen situated around a large central island with lots of cabinets and room for cooking with an eat-in dining area. And just in case your refrigerator or dish washer seems to be too full, the back area of the house had another full kitchen. The linens furnished with the house are top of the line. Fresh new towels, thick beach towels and soft comforters on all of the beds.. The 5 sparkling bathrooms are all supplied with "hotel style" black make-up towels.. There are two lovely outdoor living spaces. A covered porch near the front of the house with a table and chairs and on the side of the house a stone patio with a table and chairs . Both outdoor spaces have excellent water views. The laundry room is stocked with extra necessities if you ever run low. Beautiful Tommy Bahama chairs are ready for your stroll down to the beach. The Sea Captsin's House, a home for a true vacation.

Wonderful Getaway!

I can't say enough about this charming house! This property is ideal! It is a beautiful house with old charm and perfect scenery. Wake up to birds chirping and sun glistening off the water and the boats across the street. The house is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, but is only a short walk to downtown where the shops and restaurants await. I loved that the bedrooms were spaced out and that there was a bathroom near each bedroom, so it makes group gatherings easy.

Great house and location

My wife's family and I stayed at this house at had the most wonderful time and best experience we could ask for. The house is quintessential old Cape, with all of the old charm but definitely some house upgrades that made it usable and functional for us. We had two families with 1 year olds, an adult brother, and nanny and we all had our own bedrooms, spaces, our own bathrooms, which allowed us all to be together but also not be on top of one another. The kitchen was perfect for our needs (breakfast and lunch) and then we BBQ'd for dinner. The living room was perfect for watching the NBA Finals or reading. And the house has a great play area in the back and massive laundry for towels, clothes, etc. The owners kept the house well stocked, with beach towels, sand toys, beach chairs, cleaning supplies, and all the kitchen essentials. We also rented the Carriage House for my wife's parents to have their own space as well. We certainly could have all squeezed into the Sea Captain's house, but it made sense not to. The house is outside of downtown, so if feels very private and secluded. But it's also 4-5 minutes walking to downtown and 2-3 minutes from a great grocery market and CVS as well as a small inlet beach. The owners were super thoughtful and communicative. We couldn't figure out the TV and they immediately called and walked me through it, then checked in to make sure it worked. Truly first class experience all round. We're hoping to make a visit to this house a recurring trip from San Francisco!
