Lovely Stay in lovely area but property in need of renovation
We had a lovely stay at the beginning of September 2020 even though we had to cut our holiday short due to COVID restrictions in the UK on our return (no refund available for those days due to smallprint). Great sized property with lovely clean private pool. Petra was very helpful and met us on arrival. She also was available immediately if we had any questions.
The only gripes that we had were that the property is very tired and in need of renovation. The bathrooms are very 1980's, the shower downstairs is only suitable for kids as it came up to my stomach in height, and the shower curtain was mouldy at the bottom. Half of the lights were not working as the bulbs were out of (according to Petra) blow the fuse if used with both bulbs. In the kitchen, the hob really could do with replacing, the cutting board was covered in dried uncooked chicken, the dining table was dirty on arrival and the kitchen didn't smell clean. Dont think the dishwasher filters have ever been cleaned!
We were worries about the lack of thorough cleaning due to COVID-19 and so purchased lots of cleaning products and this was soon remedied.
Beware of the extras electric/water charges if you use a lot of both (especially in the summer) as they take €8 per day deposit on arrival and you will need to use fans in the summer as there is no AC. There is also a €100 'cleaning' fee due on arrival and €10 a stay PER PERSON for linnen (€20 per couple for 4 missmatched towels, one old fitted sheet, 2 single sheets & pillowcases). This very quickly adds up in addition to the original price. The recycling centre opposite empties the bottle bins at about 6.30am most mornings.
Overall a lovely area, and a great time was had by all. However the house was very tired & in need of updating throughout and it could have been cleaner inside. Would we return? Yes, but only if it was renovated!
