Welcome to the ISLAND RUM-AWAY. A delightful happy place to unwind, enjoy & relax with its exceptional waterfront views of the magical marshes of coastal Georgia that lead out to the Atlantic Ocean. Located on Tolomato Island, in the lovely little waterfront town of Darien Ga. You may decide to just relax & enjoy the quaint little town & island, decide to spend the day in Savannah, Saint Simons or Jekyll Island. All within a 30-55 minute car drive or take a fun adventure & travel by boat. With the brand new addition of an elevated private hot tub that over looks the marsh views, you may not even want to leave the property during your stay!

You will take a long relaxed exhale & experience paradise the moment you drive onto the Island, where marsh waters surround & massive oak trees drip in Spanish moss.

Your eyes and soul will be delighted the moment you enter the well appointed ISLAND RUM-AWAY home, with it’s new fabulous high end renovations & furnishings throughout, as well as it’s breathtaking waterfront marsh views, where you’re welcome to bring a boat & tie up at the private dock, but have full access by car.

On the main, you’re welcomed with bleached white hardwood floors & Savannah shutters throughout, high ceilings, tons of natural light, a fully equipped lovely kitchen with Island, that is open to the dining area that hosts 8+ people & a large gathering room, with a massive high end incredibly comfortable sectional, to relax on & enjoy the amazing marsh views or maybe a nap on, a 1/2 bath, laundry room with a full sized washer & dryer, as well as an oversized bedroom that hosts a king sized bed, large walk in closet & beautifully renovated en suite with a gorgeous tiled shower, double vanities & separate water closet.

Upstairs hosts 2 additional bedrooms,1 with a queen bed & the other with twin beds, gorgeous renovated full bathroom with walk in shower, as well as a beautiful separate loft area, to relax & enjoy the marsh views, with a down sectional to relax on & office work space. All beds offer very comfortable new high end mattresses, pillows & linen coverings.

Some of your favorite things to do will soon be to sit on the large porch with plenty of comfortable seating, that faces SE, being mesmerized as the tides come in & out throughout the day varying sometimes up to 10 feet, watching & listening to the salt water birds, enjoying the breeze from the not so distant ocean & the massive expansion of sky covered in thousands of stars at night, then taking a stroll down the dock to hopefully spot dolphins & stingrays. Bicycling on the small island and kayaking, are always a special treat as well.

Darien is known for being one of the best fisheries on the coast of Georgia. In fact, the area’s largest shrimp boat fleet calls Darien home. Located near the mouth of the Altamaha river, the local waters are well nourished, attracting an abundance of baitfish… And where there is baitfish there will be game fish! You can expect to find an array of species such as redfish, speckled trout, flounder, tripletail, and even tarpon.

Take a short 10 minute drive to the delightful little downtown Darien, with it’s local shops & delicious restaurants on the water. Skippers and the wine bar are 2 of our favorites! And for those that love to cook, the local grocery store, The Coastal Market and McKenzies Market are wonderful choices to bring back something delicious to cook!
