Perfect retreat for relaxation and to just enjoy the beauty of nature. Sitting on the dock under the gorgeous cypress tree was just what we needed. Looking down into the Rainbow River from the deck was like looking into an aquarium, the water was so clear. Watching the turtles, fish, birds, and an otter family kept us entertained. Easy access to the river for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking. Home is lovely, clean, and was well stocked for all of our needs. Our host, Michael, was always just a text or call away.

This home is right on the Rainbow River. Very rare location. The deck is shaded by huge cypress trees. Sitting there is magical early in the morning or later in the evening. You can swim or go boating right from the deck area. If it rains you can sit comfortably inside and watch the river from the large picture windows or screen porch. The house, which was built in 1953, is funky with lots of steps up and down between rooms. Modern conveniences have been added. WiFi is good and tvs in many rooms. Security cameras outside. Tubes, paddle boards and kayaks available right outside. The best part of this rental in our opinion is enjoying the river. Otters and anhingas are right in front of the deck catching fish. Of course you can also watch all the boaters and tubers go by too. One day we went to the Rainbow River State Park and swam in the headwater spring. Another day we went downstream and ate at Swampy’s restaurant. The owner is very friendly, professional and responsive. We would love to go back someday.

This is a fantastic property! Very quiet, peaceful spot directly on the Rainbow River. Great location and experience overall. But guests should know every room has a different floor height and transition, some are several inches different. They are lighted and marked with reflectors but it’s very odd and presents a tripping hazard and mobility issue. Also, it’s not walkable to the State park as listed.

Mr. Ruckart, Thank you for taking the time to review the Serenity. Per our house rules, we state that any of our guests that has any mobility issues that we will supply ramps if requested. We believe the state park you address is the head of the springs. This takes about 20 minutes to arrive by car/truck. State park/ tuber exit/bike trail is within walking distance. Around 10 minutes by foot or around 3 minutes by vehicle. We are sorry for any confusion you or your son may have had. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to correspond with us to alleviate any more concerns you may have. Again thank for for staying with us. Rainbow Springs Serenity
