Stay in Vanderbilt Beach

Overall stay was nice. There are some easy things that can be done that would make a difference. The listing states it can accomodate 6 people, but there are only 3 beach towels. The towels for the bathrooms are a little low grade for a place in this neighborhood and some of them are already showing a lot of wear. If someone is staying a week there should be at least one extra roll of toilet paper in one of the bathrooms and an extra roll of paper towel is nice and not a difficult thing to address. When in the kitchen we could not find a can opener or bottle opener. The master bathroom tiles show damage from the hurricaine and there are many areas where it seems there was recent plaster repair most likely related to the hurricaine that were not finished off. The owners were extremely nice and accommodating, and I am providing these comments in hopes it is helpful for future impressions.

Nice but bare bones — not exactly as advertised

Nice, updated house in great location. Beds were very comfortable. Could be really great with a little more attention to detail. Yard was overgrown, weeds growing on patio, pool was dirty, missing trim in house, and a couple of windows broken. Pictures on listing are not accurate — there are no TVs in bedrooms for example. Bare bones in terms of amenities and essentials in kitchen, bath, bedrooms, etc. Worked OK for us as it was just two of us and we didn't spend much time in the house. As experienced travelers this was a very average experience for us, but as mentioned could have been so much better. Lot's of potential here.

Great location but….

Checking in was not good. I didn’t receive an email or corresponding on what we should expect from management company until I called VRBO to get a hold of them an hour before we were suppose to check in. I had been calling and emailing for 2 days prior and already paid in full. No supplies in the house. Outside trash cans were full from previous people I’m assuming. Small bugs were in the kitchen and bathrooms. Toilet was leaking and not secured. The house is cute and location is nice but needs better management.
