Stunning Light-Filled Contemporary Home on 7 Acres

A Stunning, singular home nestled on nearly 7 beautiful acres, just 1h 45m from Manhattan. This is a perfect house for a weekend country retreat, well suited for families, a group of friends, or a couple who want the space.

This house has been officially licensed by Town of Clinton NY to meet all safety and health codes and is fully permitted as a short term rental.

Set back from a scenic and quiet country road, a private idyllic setting of open space and old rock walls, surrounded by lush forest and sloping hills. An open, light-filled floor plan includes myriad large windows and a soaring 17 ft. ceiling in a gallery-esque family room. A bespoke and welcoming open kitchen, just completed with a renovation and new appliances adorned with an inviting brick fireplace. French doors lead into a spacious living & dining room, also with fireplace. Glass doors lead out to a brick patio, and a custom-built southern exposure solarium.

The second floor consists of 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Relax in the large master bedroom with a walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom with double sink. A 3+ car garage/basement leads up to the laundry room, mudroom, and half bathroom on the first floor. The garage includes a Tesla electric vehicle charger.

Centrally located in beautiful Salt Point, NY (near Clinton), close to the popular towns of Rhinebeck, Kingston, and Millbrook. An easy drive to NYC, also easily accessible via Metro-North (Poughkeepsie) or Amtrak (Rhinecliff).

We had the most wonderful weekend! The home is elegant, comfortable, so well stocked. We felt welcomed even before we arrived with all the great recommendations our host sent us. I couldn't have asked for anything more. It was the perfect escape in the country.

Family Thanksgiving

Our family converged on Salt Point from Minnesota, NYC, and Vermont. It was a chance for my husband and I to rendezvous with our East Coast kids for Thanksgiving in a comfortable, gracious setting. It was ideal. Rachel's home is wonderful. It was perfectly appointed for our Thanksgiving and for everyone to be comfortable and yet have room to not be on top of each other. I have stayed at many VRBO homes. This tops the list.

A Scenic Getaway

This home is stunning and filled with charm! Rachel was such an accommodating and communicative host. In addition, the house’s spacious layout with a number of bedrooms and bathrooms, there is a the outdoor space to roam around and enjoy. I live in Brooklyn and the relatively short drive here was absolutely worth it. There’s nothing like a trip upstate in the fall. And Rachel’s home was the perfect place for a great exhale. I’d definitely stay here again.

Beautiful setting near NY Sheep and Wool

A group of us met up to go to the NY Sheep and Wool event - and we could not have asked for a more perfect retreat! The house was just as pictured - beautifully curated, all the amenities, fully stocked kitchen (including cooking essentials). The setting was so beautiful - a perfect place to feel away from hustle and bustle. A few thing to note for Rhinebeck goers: Location is fairly close to Duchess County Fairgrounds if you have a car (a must) - you avoid crossing any bridges to get there so no traffic. Saugerties (for some of the satellite events) is further away - we drove out to Saugerties and stayed out there for the day - takes about +/-45min to drive. Poor cell reception in the area so make sure you have your maps downloaded to your phone just in case. Not much nearby in the way of food/groceries, so pick up before you head to the house. Once you are there, you won’t want to head back out again. All the bedrooms are upstairs - and all the stairways (to access house from outside as well as interior stairs) are steeper than average, so may not be good for anyone with mobility issues. Overall beautiful house and setting - and great location to access NY Sheep and Wool.

Beautiful weekend stay

This property is absolutely wonderful. It has so many beautiful things that you rarely find included in a rental property! It really felt like we were in Rachel's home and it was a perfect place for a girl's weekend. Rachel made everything related to the stay, from check-in to check-out, a breeze. Highly recommend!

Well-equipped, good gathering spaces, would return

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The house was well equipped, with plenty of dishes, pots, pans and appliances to work for our group of 10 guests, and the large farmhouse style kitchen table seated all of us comfortably for all of our meals. We would return to this house again for future stays, and would recommend to others. Many thanks to the host for a lovely weekend!

Best ever...

This was an amazing property with all amenities you'd find at a Ritz hotel. Rachel was responsive to each request and a delight to deal with. Centrally located to all hiking, restaurants and shopping. We are a cooking family and Rachel's kitchen was fully equipped.

Marist Graduation Weekend

Beautiful location

This is a beautiful house and property. It feels remote but it is close to Rhinebeck. It is best for adults, we were a group of friends in for the NY Sheep and Wool Festival. We were comfortable in this house as a group of 5.

Beautiful house

This corner of Dutchess County is stunning, and so is this beautiful house, whose owner has clearly gone above and beyond in order to make the house feel like a real home. Nowhere are the exchangeable pieces of [redacted Swedish brand name] furniture that are found at so many other short-stay rentals. Instead, there is beautiful furniture and art, all clearly the vision of one person. The rooms are all comfortable, the house was extremely well appointed, and the instructions for everything from check-in to how to use the thermostat, were extremely clear. The host was very kind and helpful. As some people have noted in other reviews, one bedroom (the master bedroom) is much larger than the rest. That did not matter at all for our group but may affect other people in their decision-making.

Everything was well spaced out and we had all the supplies needed to Make our stay the best. My family was so impressed with the house and the surroundings. Salt Point Retreat

The house was, as advertised, well maintained, well stocked, nicely located, spacious and comfortable. The grounds and setting were terrific. We made frequent use of them. You might consider mentioning the size disparity among the bedrooms. We enjoyed the spacious suite, but our friends found their bedroom a bit tight. The layout is perfect for a family, but somewhat less suitable for two or three couples.

Perfect relaxing weekend

Rachel’s home was perfect for our small group of girlfriends on a bachelorette party. There was plenty of room to hang around and socialize, the kitchen was well equipped and updated. The beds were also very comfortable. Check in was a breeze and Rachel is very responsive throughout the entire process. Something to keep in mind (and to NO fault of Rachel)-there is VERY limited ride share options, if any, in the area. We went winery hopping and tried for 30-60 minutes to find a ride, sometimes afraid we’d be stuck. One of the taxi services closed at 5, which again, made it a little stressful. Again-NOTHING to do with Rachel or the house, just something to know about the area.

Fabulous Getaway

We had a fabulous weekend full of Graduation Activities and relaxation. The house was so lovely, comforable and inviting. The owner, Rachel, was always available for all our questions. I already shared the link with several friends and we hope to do a getaway in the fall.
