Country life

Nice cozy little house. Fully furnished with a nice wood burning stove for those cool nights. Grill provided, free high speed internet and TV, washer and dryer, microwave, coffee maker, pots and pans.
Your stay will be a short ten minute drive south of Hays. Nestled along the Smoky HIll RIver right outside of Schoenchen Ks. Two easy routes to hays . One is north on highway 183. Than the other is head north from house on 240th Ave , 10 miles to the south end of Main Street in Hays. This is a quick access to all of Fort Hays State Univerty. And any events that happen in Hays.

Schoenchen offers a beautiful limestone built Catholic Church. The best part for all the guys who are coming hunting and bringing your better half, Is Rock Haven health spa. It’s located less than a mile away. This spa is rated as one of the best in the country..

For the Hunter .. We do offer some of the best hunting in western Kansas. We have ground for upland game hunting, deer and turkeys. There is a trespassing fee for hunting. You will need to call ahead for hunting dates available. All hunts at this time will be self guided. We do have access to several thousand acres of ground. You will have access to places to hang and process your game. Bird dogs are allowed we just ask they be kenneled up in the house or we have a large escape proof outdoor kennel.

We enjoyed our stay the rooms where clean. We had plenty of room and the hospitality was great .Nick took time out of his day to show us the land and gave us tips where to hunt. would highly recommend this place.

Amazing and beautiful stay

Great area, friendly people, clean and beautiful area. Loved their dog, lots of birds, great yard and house. Loved every moment! Would definitely stay again. The pictures didn’t do it justice. They had everything we needed.

Great House and Even Better Owners

My friends and I booked this place for our yearly hunting trip to the area. Katie and Nick are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet and made us feel like family during our stay and the hospitality was top notch. My group will be staying here every year from now on and we’re all ready looking forward to next year!

Above and Beyond

This place was exactly as described. I cannot say enough about Nick and his family’s hospital. They truly went above and beyond to make our trip special. We will be booking this place again next year.

Cute and quiet

Great quiet location. Bedrooms were spacious, kitchen has what you need and living area was nice. Hosts responded quickly. Washer and dryer a huge plus for travelers! Coffee provided! We loved looking at the stars and would use this place again if ever in the area.

Great quiet getaway in the country

My father, son, and 2 small dogs were traveling through the area on our way to Colorado. Nick’s home was the perfect place in the country to get a good night of sleep before our final day of travel. The home was clean and quiet. It was also close enough to town to have a nice dinner. Highly recommend!

It was great!

Everything was great and very well decorated, however the bed wasn't very comfortable. That's our only concern, otherwise it was amazing! Lovely house!

Homecoming

We stayed so that we could attend Fort Hays State Homecoming and watch our daughter cheer. The location was easily accessible from Hays and was very clean and comfortable for our group. You will need to bring ice as the freezer does not have an ice maker.

Hello.. My name is Nick and my wife is Katie. We have 4 children and 6 grandkids. We also have our Labrador retriever her name is Remi. We live right behind the rental house you will be staying in. We do have farm animals chickens, cows and pheasants. We also love gardening and canning. We take pride in our little farm and guest house. And spend lots of time in the yard and gardening.

Come fall time we have lots of good hunting in the area. Which we can get you access to hunt. For a trespassing fee or we will offer guided controlled shooting hunts next fall .
