Enjoy a secluded stay in a peaceful country setting. Our modern shipping container home is nestled on a hillside in the corner of our 160 acre farm. This unique space has 2 bedrooms, each bedroom has a queen bed and full closet. The bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house, making it perfect for two couples. The home is complete with a fully stocked kitchen and a bathroom, a commons area and a deck overlooking the countryside. A beautiful 5 min drive from Viroqua and Westby, WI. Two quaint small towns with lots to offer. The Driftless region has a wide variety of year-round outdoors activities to offer. Spend the day trout fishing on nearby streams, biking the Driftless area, canoe the Kickapoo river, or go for a hike at our many parks, and return to the peace and quiet. Enjoy the scenery from the deck or have a bon fire.

This is our third visit to the Hillside Hideaway, and it did not disappoint! Comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen and plenty of space to relax in the living room are some of our favorite features! Our adult children don’t like sharing a queen sized bed, so one of them slept on the couch in the living room and reported that it was very comfy. Highly recommend!

Hidden Hillside Hideaway

This was exactly what they promised it to be. A quiet, hidden, hideaway from the rest of the world. So relaxing! The house was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. The hosts were easy to communicate with and responded promptly. We are so glad we chose Hidden Hillside to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary.

The best Hideaway around!

This is our second visit to the Hidden Hideaway. We have relatives in Westby, so the location is absolutely perfect for our needs. The property is always spotlessly clean when we arrive, and the two small porches outside of each bedroom was a lovely addition! Another amenity that we loved was the Bluetooth speaker. The beautiful clear chilly nights were enhanced by the fire pit with firewood dry and ready to use! Communication with the hosts was always prompt and easy. We look forward to staying at the Hideaway again the next time we’re in the region!

Cozy Get-Away

We were so excited to experience a stay in a shipping container. We tend to look for nontraditional options when vacationing. We were delighted by the size, cleanliness, and location of this little gem. It is so comfortable and nicely decorated. We used it as a base while exploring the small communities in the area and fishing the Kickapoo River system. We enjoyed the restaurants, shops and wineries. We highly recommend this vacation home.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

Our rental is in a peaceful and quiet setting on the back corner of our farm. You get a countryside feel but it is close to 2 quaint towns with great restaurants and grocery options. There is also lots of places to hike, bike, snowshoe or cross country ski in the winter in addition to word class trout streams with in a few miles. There are usually deer in the fields and plenty of birds. You can walk our farm, enjoy the view from the deck or build a bon fire.

この宿泊施設の特徴

Our rental is build using 3 refurbished shipping containers together to make a unique 800 sq foot space with a deck. The bedrooms are at each end of the home with the living room and kitchen in the middle giving guests some privacy. We have added a deck Off of each bedroom for some added privacy to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or relaxing and watching the stars at night. Our kitchen is very well stocked with all the conveniences of home.
