The name says it all! A BLOCK AWAY is a spacious North Myrtle Beach vacation house with a PRIVATE POOL. Conveniently located near public beach access, you can be on the beach with just a short stroll.

A Block Away has two floors--each with its living area and kitchen (the smaller one is downstairs). It also features a covered porch where you can rock away as you enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail.

Imagine your family gathering by the pool (un-heated) and enjoying a family cookout on the charcoal grill. Wind down in the evening with a family fun game of foosball.

Overall our stay was good, Agee more chairs by the pool and on the porch would have made our stay better.

A Block Away

Overall the stay at this location was good. We had some issues with a glass door broken prior to our arrival which had to get fixed, delaying our dinner. There was also a for sale sign out on the lawn which brought visitors wanting to see the property.

This Place is a Dump

This house was dark, dank, dirty, and disgusting. We've been visiting the strand since 1991 and this was the biggest dump yet most experience rental we've experienced. We paid almost $9000 for a DUMP. I can't stress what a crap hole this place was. We suspected mold in a lower-level bathroom. The hardwood floors were ancient and not cared for AND sagging in the living room (like we almost felt like we'd fall thru), the re-model attempt was pathetic (except for the kitchen counters). The bathroom flooring was lumpy and uneven. The laundry room was INCONVENIENT and included disgustingly old appliances and a bunch of dirty crap. The kitchen was provisioned with mostly old appliances and horrible pans. The fridge water tasted DISGUSTING. The fact that you had to access the lower level thru a bedroom (or from outside) was ridiculous. The deck painting was peeling considerably such that we feared splinters the entire time. There was no outdoor spigot to wash beach feet, nor was there a mat at the home entrances. The AC vents and were ancient, rusted. The pillows were pancakes, ridiculously cheap. On top of all this there were so many minor repairs needed it's not even funny. This place was just terrible and we so REGRETTED renting it. We have several photos that can be shared upon request to show what we paid almost $9000 to live in for a lousy week. Sorry for sounding harsh but this is all accurate.
