Lovely big house, with fantastic size pool. The house is in great condition in a lovely setting that does not feel far from anywhere. The welcome pack was much appreciated and so were the inflatables with the pool! There are ants about, the hosts do try to clear them but ants are rather persistent. And others have mentioned the pool is missing some tiles, not a big issue but guests should be mindful about cutting themselves and some of the sharper areas. The pool is otherwise very clear. My biggest frustration, there is a tree in the top right corner of the garden. It starts putting the pool in the shade from 2pm, by 4 the pool is in total shade. We were there late August, still near 3 hours of sunlight left and temps still high, but the pool gets very cool. IMO the tree needs a trim, nothing major just shape it to allow the afternoon soon to keep the pool warm. The areas just outside the pool are bathed in sunlight, it would not need much.

Lovely peaceful villa

Lovely villa with secluded pool and sunbathing area - we have just enjoyed our second stay there. For those who wish to cook there is a very well equipped kitchen! Driveway slightly difficult as it is on the side of a hill.

Great family holiday.

We had a lovely stay at Casa Carla. The Villa is even better than the pictures. It!s based in a quiet golf resort with easy access to lots of places. Getting an Uber to Carvoeiro was between 5- 10 euros. It was very spacious, clean and well maintained with lots of facilities . Thanks for a great holiday.

We had a lovely week at the villa with the family. Villa was as expected but more stairs than expected which would be a problem with young children. However very clean and tidy.

Lovely villa, beautiful area on a very well maintained golf resort, well positioned for several of the lovely beaches, as well as being close to the supermarkets and a water park (10mins away)Aircon was great (and we were told newly installed), kitchen appliances all easy to use, nice big TV if you fancy watching any movies, WiFi worked well, and David who greeted us was really helpful and friendly. If we are being picky the pool has a some tiles missing, a few of the bed side lamps didn’t work, one sun lounger is broken, and there are a few patches of damp/paint peeling in some rooms, this didn’t spoil our stay though just some things that ought to be addressed given what we paid for the villa (David did acknowledge some of these things, just difficult to address during the peak season).

We recently left Villa Clara after three nights into a fourteen night stay. The beds were so hard and uncomfortable that we did not get any sleep on any night. Also, the bedding could not be described as luxury. To make matters worse, there were dogs barking intermittingly throughout the nights. The damp in both downstairs bedrooms permeated throughout the villa. Also, the bedside lamps in both downstairs bedrooms were not working at all. The sofa in the living room was worn and is in need of repair. The light switch for the main bathroom was hanging off and clearly dangerous. The bin was broken in the kitchen and the freezer was dirty. Knife block unhygienic.Outside, it wasn't any better as there were so many missing tiles on the pool floor that, in our opinion, made it hazardous to use. In any event, the pool water was not clean when we arrived and even though we were promised a visit from the pool cleaner he did not arrive in the three days that we stayed there. Also, the garden furniture was old, faded and dirty. We have travelled extensively throughout Europe and, in our opinion, this villa is nowhere near 'Luxury'. We contacted the owner for a refund as we felt that it was not as advertised but all they said was there would be no refund and to cancel the booking through VRBO. If we had cancelled we would not have been able to post this review. In short AVOID! You have been warned.

Dear Mr. Andrews, we are very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at Casa Carla . Unfortunately you did not contact us with any complaints while staying in the Villa. We are aware of the fact that some minor issues can occur in holiday homes and we are and always have been available to resolve any problem for our guests. Casa Carla welcomes many returning guests each year . The bedside lamps in the downstairs bedroom work in a very individual way - we are sorry if we missed to explain this to you. These lamps are located in a bedroom which you did not use so we trust it should not have been a major problem for you .There are very few small tiles missing in the pool, it is not a safety issue and will be repaired over the winter. We wish you all the best . Stefanie

Excellent villa tailored toward adult parties

We had a very enjoyable stay at the villa, located in an excellent quiet area of the golf course (not facing the course) although being close to the open dry spaces you can find snakes, spiders etc. Property is really well equipped, the kitchen has more than enough equipment for even advanced cooks. The villa is geared toward adults though (and is advertised as such) so wouldn’t highly recommend for young children, however very good for adults.
