This spacious 4 beds 2 bathrooms property is in Sagamore Hills, a prime real-estate area in DeKalb County. It was built in 1962 and still has lots of its original charm. You can tell by its layout (Family room open to the kitchen and combo living-Dining room) and the wood wall in the family room.
Over the years, this house has been the home for many families, including international families.
We love our historic home so much! We’ve done some updating over the past years, and now we’re so happy to be able to share it with you.
The neighborhood has all you can like, and a walk around is great. It is so quiet, you'd not believe you are close to everything (CDC, shopping areas, downtown, Emory University, World of Coca-Cola, Atlanta Aquarium, etc.) Atlanta has to offer.
The house itself sits on a separate 1bed 1bath apartment that is rented to a very nice fellow who does everything to be out of the guests' way. You might see his car, but chances are you'll never see him.
We hope you enjoy your time here be it for vacation or business trips.

Very functional but a little musty

The place was functional. The place definitely had an old house/musty smell. That got better after we turned air conditioner on. The king bed mattress has rock hard. Location was excellent for what we needed. (son lives 0.5 miles away). we will/would stay there again if necessary. We didn't eat or cook there so I have no comments on appliances.

Nice house, comfortable, very spacious for a ranch, convenient to to city center

Quiet oasis in Atlanta

It is private, convenient, very quiet and, amazingly, free of light pollution, which is a rare , in not impossible, find in the city. You have a very well appointed kitchen, from pots to knives to dishes. Your house is one of the best VRBOs I’ve ever stayed in. I would return to this location, again and again.

Historic Home

The home itself and neighborhood it is in are wonderful. We enjoyed the home, but feel that the maintenance of the home on some small things are lacking. When we arrived the house was at 84 degrees and AC wasn’t working because the battery was low on the Thermostat. We had to go out and purchase batteries after just arriving from a 10 hour trip. We also discovered a broken bed, which we needed to use because there was 6 of us so we just pulled the mattress to the floor to use. I notified the host of these issues. The host responded kindly and quickly with an apology. The dishwasher still had dishes in it. At first I thought it hadn’t been unloaded, but discovered they were dirty and moldy. We just threw two tabs in and ran it. We didn’t touch it after that and just hand washed the dishes we used. We brought our own towels because of another review. I’m glad we did. I would like to throw in that you should also bring a roll or two of toilet paper with you, as we arrived to almost empty rolls. As for the unit below being rented, we only saw the car in the evening and early morning. I don’t believe the home has a direct connection to the other unit. As far as we could tell all of the doors in the part we rented lead to outside. Overall, this experience could have been close to 5 stars if we were given more information of what we were arriving to (broken bed, bringing your own towels & TP) the thermostat having the batteries replaced, and the dishwasher being ran and unloaded.
