Shang-Rye-La is the ideal place to experience a dreamy, oceanfront vacation, no matter what time of year you visit! Nestled directly on the shoreline, you will never have to leave your beach oasis. Owned by one family since 1866, this property boasts a private pond, two kayaks, and included beach gear like chairs and boogie boards! Take in amazing views from both the indoors and outdoors - find ample places to relax and entertain. An open-concept living floor offers a welcoming Great Room with a gas fireplace and flatscreen TV, as well as a pristine kitchen with a full suite of stainless steel appliances. Six bedrooms and five bathrooms provide comfort and coziness for every member of the group! Added perks of this family-friendly home include central AC, high-speed WiFi, five TVs, cable, board games, puzzles, and books. Find a wide array of incredible experiences just outside your door, including whale watching, deep-sea fishing, hiking the Appalachian Trail, and riverboat cruises from Portsmouth.

Fabulous Vacation Home

Family Oasis

Our family has been coming here for several years, and we have never been disappointed. The house is right on the beach and supplies all the beach accessories one would want. Patty is a wonderful owner and goes out of her way to make sure your stay is beyond perfect. Can't wait to go back.

Fabulous ocean front home!

Clean , spacious , well equipped home with amazing views! Everything about this house is perfect. We had a 1 year old and an 86 year old and had a wonderful Thanksgiving week.

3 Parts of Heaven all in one place

Where can you see the morning sunrise, the evening sunset, and see the glorious beach all in one place? It is here at Shangri La. The location is stunning, but the property is amazing and well taken care of.. Plenty of room for all of my family.

Fabulous Place !

Everything about this house is perfect. The views are amazing, plenty of room, clean and very comfortable. This is our 3rd time renting this property. My dad is 86 and my grandson is 2 . Great place for all ages .

Fabulous home with amazing views!

We had a wonderful time. The house was clean , spacious and had everything we needed and more. The view of the ocean could not have been better and perfect place to walk on the beach. Our ages ranged from 9 months to 85 years and we all enjoyed it so much we have already booked another week.

Lives up to its marketing. No phony photographs or representations whatsoever!

The home was simply lovely, beautiful setting, very spacious. The beds were very comfortable. Beach house that feels more an exclusive home than a typical beach getaway. We will look to booking again. Very tastefully decorated, excellent kitchen with all the tools you would find in your own home.

Perfect family time with 90+ year old moms!

We love this beautiful house! The sunrises and ocean views are the perfect antidote to long New England winters. This is the second time we rented in February to share a week with our 2 over ninety year old moms. They love it and we three sibs and our spouses find it a great way to relax. Hope to be back next year!

Perfect respite time!

The house and location couldn’t be better! It’s a two-hour drive away, the house has been a great vacation destination for us with our 2 ninety-plus year old mother’s and siblings each of the last two winters. With COVID-19 restrictions, my husband and I found the house as inviting for a romantic getaway! Everything you need is there and conducive to rest and relaxation. We’ll be back!
