Relaxing Crooked Lake Cottage - Private Dock, Large Yard, Great Fishing

Relax, recharge, and disconnect at this cozy waterfront cottage on beautiful Crooked Lake!

The property has a large yard with an outdoor fire pit and a wraparound deck with a beautiful gazebo. Inside, you'll find a cozy fireplace, a large kitchen and plenty of windows overlooking the lake. Our private dock offers space to dock your own boat, excellent fishing, and a pontoon available to rent for cruising the lake! Nearby there are restaurants, ice cream shops, and trails for hikers, bikers, and snowmobilers.

This single-story lake cottage is bright, open, and welcoming — with large windows throughout that offer beautiful lake views. The main living area has a cozy stone fireplace, comfortable seating, which flows into the fully equipped kitchen.

Main bedroom: King-size bed, closet, ensuite bathroom with full shower and jacuzzi

Bedroom 2: Full-size bed, dresser, closet

Bedroom 3: Full-size bed, dresser, closet

Bonus sleeping: Pull-out full-size sofa bed in second living area (perfect for kids or extra guests)

Second bathroom: Centrally located, with shower/tub combo

Laundry area: In-home washer and dryer, perfect for longer stays

Outside, there are two kayaks available for use on the lake.

Enjoy the lake in style! We have a pontoon boat available for rent. Our pontoon is available for $150/day or $1,000/week (must be rented for the full stay). Please let me know during booking if you are interested in the boat!

Please note: While you’re welcome to enjoy the lake from our dock and use the kayaks, swimming directly from the property is not recommended due to the lakebed conditions near shore.

For swimming, there's a public park with a beach and picnic tables just 1/4 mile away, easily walkable or a 2-minute drive!

For security purposes only, we have three security cameras all located on the exterior of the property. The first camera is on the front porch, covering the front door. The second camera is on the detached garage facing down the driveway. The third camera is facing the lake and fire pit area.

Just minutes away, you’ll find local favorites like Twisted Sisters Pizza, Lakeside Bar & Grille, Kaleidoscope Coffee, and Ebaugh’s Whistle Stop Ice Cream. Love the outdoors? Explore the Evart City Walking Trail, Riverside Park East, or take a day trip to the scenic trails around Lake Cadillac in the Huron-Manistee National Forest (45 min drive).

Whether you're fishing, paddling, snowmobiling, or just relaxing with a book by the water, we hope you'll feel right at home at our Crooked Lake Cottage.

Location near center of the lake was nice. Close to restaurants and stores. Kitchen was not well stocked for cooking. There was plenty of counter and cupboard space but only one frying pan, one small cutting board, and one sharp knife. Some storage bowls would have been nice. The back deck could be much more comfortable if there was more shade. The gazebo on the side of the house was not convenient and covered in spiderwebs. We didn't use it. We were not told the paddleboat was broken, I was glad I asked before we tried using it. The main bathroom shower floor was very slippery. We bought a bath mat after my elderly father nearly fell in the shower.

Amazing!

I spent the Fourth of July weekend at this home and had an amazing time. The house was clean and had all the amenities you would need. The home was spacious on the inside with three bedrooms, a pull out couch and futon. The location was amazing. Right on the water, with the use of kayaks and a paddle boat. The neighborhood was safe. The little town was cute with a dollar general, a couple restaurants and a coffee shop. The hosts were great! I have been to many vacation homes and this was at the top of my list because of the location, the home size and the hosts.

Great family vacation!

My family and I (5 adults) recently stayed here and throughly enjoyed our stay. We had plenty of room and everyone was comfortable. The pontoon boat was a great addition to our week there.

Excellent

Only got to spend a long weekend but wish it was longer. We had a great time and definitely will be back. Randy and Amber are excellent hosts. They answered every question promptly and helped with anything we needed. The home and yard is beautiful and exceptionally clean. I’ve never stayed anywhere else that I have had a better experience. Every littledetail was attended to. If you need a relaxing getaway this is the place!

Back to Crooked Lake

My parents lived on the lake for over 20 years. When this property popped up we decided to give it a go. My husband and I and another couple, had a delightful 5 nights. We got just what we wanted, peace , quiet, and fun!!!

Mom's birthday/mini-vacation

Overall, we had a great time. The location was great and not too far of a drive. Small town atmosphere, and everyone was friendly. The house is very nice and roomy. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. We absolutely loved the pontoon and enjoyed taking it around the lake! The house was very nice, but wish there would have been pictures of the long walk from the garage to the house. It might have changed if we would have booked. It was very hard for my mom to walk that far, so she didn't make many trips with us. One suggestion for the kitchen - more bowls (mixing/serving). We used the casserole dishes that were in the cupboard. Also, some serving spoons as well would be nice.

Our mother/daughter getaway

The property was clean and very close to the water. We had fabulous weather and spent most of our daytime in the gazebo enjoying the wildlife, boats etc. We enjoyed that very much. Beds were comfortable. I would like to make some suggestions to the manager/owner of the property. We have spent several weekends at VRBO spots for our weekends/ getaways so we have a little experience to fall back on. We would encourage a more informative set of instructions/information for future visitors. The initial information said to leave the cottage as we found it which led us to wonder if that meant all linens had to be clean and the cottage spotless. My daughter found it necessary to communicate with the manager to determine what was expected in terms of laundry and general cleaning (we did clean the cottage) There was no soap for the dishwasher or the clothes washer so we had to go to the store for that. Generally we have found a notebook with information regarding the way to connect to the internet, a listing of TV channels available, instructions regarding what is expected at checkout time, nearby stores, restaurants, etc. Generally speaking, pertinent information in one place and available would be very helpful to future guests. My husband was dealing with health issues and was allowed to join us by the management which we greatly appreciated. We hope the wedding they were experiencing that weekend was lovely and a happy occasion.

Crooked Lake Vacay

The only snag (a small one) we had during the week was a leaky gas hose on the grill. Not a big deal since we had brought a Blackstone with us and used that instead. Randy and Amber were very easy to work with and we enjoyed our vacation very much.

This property is very clean and well kept. Lots of room to spread out. Excellent fishing lake. During the week it was like our own private lake. There were very few others using the water.

The house and the lake was everything described. The location is about an hour driving to a lot of great cities so we also explored a lot of places. We enjoyed our vacation.

A complete escape

There aren’t enough words to express how much we enjoyed our stay. We needed a peaceful quiet place and this was it!! I almost wish I didn’t need to relax, because I also know that there’s tons of fun things to do there! I feel like this is one of the places that no matter what you’re looking for it has it!
