Beautiful Lake House on Private Lake in Salmon River Region!

Year-round waterfront house on a private lake located at the foothills of the Tughill region. Very close to the Salmon River and a huge network of snowmobile trails. This unique lakefront cottage has perfect accommodations for families, hunters, fishermen, ATV'ers, snowmobilers, kayakers, and hikers. The house has 8 bedrooms (sleeps 16+), 2 full bathrooms, and tons of amenities. This is the perfect getaway for snowmobiling, ATVing, Snow Shoeing, Cross Country Skiing, Fishing, Hiking, Hunting, or Just Relaxing! World Class Salmon River Fishing is only a 15 minute drive! House is also located 40 minutes to great Lake Ontario beaches, under an hour to Turning Stone Resort and Casino, and 45 minutes to Destiny USA Shopping Center.

Private Sane Beach with loungers, umbrellas, picnic table. Stainless gas grill and propane provided. Fire pit with chairs and firewood provided. Badminton set, Tether Ball, Cornhole, and other board/card games available.

Lots of room and fully furnished with everything you need for a great stay! Linens are included!

Other notes:

No motorized boats are allowed on the lake.

After the 2nd week in October, the lake level is lowered in preparation for winter. Canoes, kayaks, and boats are still welcome until the lake freezes. Ice fishing is excellent here as well!

Annual family vacation!

This was our fifth summer at this lake house and we are booked for next year already! It has everything we need for my family! Location is an advantage as we only travel two hours. It is quiet and we all love the water front!

Incredible week on the lake!

We love it here. This was our second stay at this house, and it did not disappoint. Peaceful mornings on the dock, swimming and boats in the afternoon. Plenty of room indoor and out for extended family. The owners are responsive, friendly and happy to help. This is a great property!

Salmon fishing haven

There was 11 of us old time friends who get together in Altmar for our 4 decade tradition of fishing in Salmon River. We came from as far away as the State of Washington, Colorado and North and South Carolinas. We had a great time and the location was fantastic.

Annual vacation

This was our fourth year at this location! It is fantastic for my large family. So much outdoor space to do just about anything. Every year there are new features which makes us glad we have decided to visit again next year!

Relax and unwind

Perfect lakeside location in a well stocked house. We attended a local wedding and were able to unwind and relax for some extra days. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

Great Location close to the action

Me and eleven of my fishing buddies returned to Salmon River for our annual fishing trip. The place was spacious, clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our time there. The host was accommodating and responsive to our needs and request. The sunrise views over the private lake were amazing. I highly recommend this place, especially for family summer fun

Summer Break

The lake house is nicely appointed and spacious for a family getaway. This was my second year stay and already reserved for next summer. Enough said. Whole family enjoyed the week.

All Together Now

This is our fourth time staying at this property! It has all of the amenities for our large group of friends and family! We love the large outdoor and indoor spaces where everyone can gather to play games, chat and watch movies! We also love the fire pit and all of the water sports (kayaks, canoes and paddle board)! Thanks so much for providing a place where our group could truly unwind, relax and reconnect!

Six Night Three Generation Vacation

Accuracy of online listing nailed it. Inside property was spacious, tidy and everything we'd hoped for. Kitchen, with the exception of sharp knives, and bathrooms were well equipped. Amazing lake access and plenty of firewood. Grill was in need of a good cleaning prior to use. Overall, everyone from 2 years old to 72 years old enjoyed themselves even though we had two days of rain.

Peaceful lakefront cottage

This house suited our needs perfectly. Plenty of comfortable bedrooms for our large family gathering and a big great room/dining area/ kitchen. The water front was fabulous with plenty of non-motorized boating and a walk-in beach are for the little one. We loved the dock and floating dock. Not too much around but we found pizza and an ice cream shop 10 minutes away in Williamstown. Went to a ball game in Syracuse an hour away. Kitchen was well stocked and everything in working order. We loved this quaint cottage community. Highly recommend for a family vacation!

Girls trip 2024

Great location. We had to clean refrigerator before we could use it. Floors not swept or vacuumed. Trash in cans. Spider webs all over inside property. The hosts housekeeping services did not properly do their job.

Steelhead Fishing Trip

This is the second time we have stayed at the Lakehouse. The accommodations are perfect for our fishing group which consists of ten guys. Plenty of room for everyone and all of the appliances you would need for cooking. The owner Tim is excellent in responding to messages in a timely manner and makes everything convenient. Unfortunately when we arrived on the first day the house wasn’t as clean as the first stay including a broken toilet bowl seat downstairs that was on the floor. The blankets on the beds seemed as if they were just thrown in place. Tim sent a handy man out immediately to fix the problem. Otherwise we will be back again next year.

A Damaged Mess

Multiple issues with our stay. Overall it was a good time with our family and we made the best of it. But sheets and blankets were not clean prior to our stay or cleaned and not used for a long period of time. A few beds had mice droppings and bugs found in the linens on the bed. I dropped something under the bed in the room I stayed in and found more mouse droppings and dead bugs. One night we stayed up late and at 3 am while heading down to the basement we saw four mice running across the floor which freaked out a few of my family members. They had informed us of some projects that were incomplete due to timing of our stay which was fine. Multiple closet doors not on the tracks we were afraid to be near them because we didn’t want to get blamed for any damages. Grille bottom was rusted out and barely functional. Overall great location on the lake, great place to swim and hangout outside with the family. Inside was a disaster.

I’m very disappointed that you didn’t give us a chance to rectify anything during your stay. The grill was less than 2 years old and we had no idea it was rusted that badly. It was replaced immediately after we were notified. I apologize for any inconvenience. We had water damage in the basement and the closet door tracks were damaged. They have since been fixed.

We began renting this property in 2018 and fell in love with the peace and quiet and the beauty of its location. After returning every year for 4+ years, we were blessed with the opportunity to become owners.

This location offers comfortable sleep arrangements for the entire family. It is located on a private, quiet lake in upstate New York. There is ample fishing available on the lake and the property is also located only a few miles from the Salmon River. Enjoy swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and relaxing on the private dock or on the sandy beach area.
