Perfect in every way

We have enjoyed vacationing in Monterey for over 30 years. We have stayed in a variety of great places over the years but this beautiful, peaceful, heaven-on-earth cabin is our favorite! Everything was just perfect. We look forward to spending more time here next year. Thank you Bud for the best Bible study retreat we could have possibly had. Lord willing, we will see you next year.

Outstanding Highland County Cabin

I've stayed in Highland County many times and this is by far the best place. Beautiful location. Large, immaculate cabin with many amenities such as dishwasher, washer, dryer, etc. Everything in perfect working order. I'm looking forward to our next visit.

Wish I had a longer stay at Nicholson Run

Beautiful piece of land and well appointed home with everything I needed for a long weekend. I enjoyed the hiking trail on the property and the town of Monterey. I took some trips on my bike to warm Springs and went for a hike at Seneca rock. I will definitely stay there again

Great property

Thoroughly clean and everything transparent Never needed to contact owner. Owner anticipated every need. Beautiful location and totally remote. Hope to schedule a return visit.

Goldilocks - Just right

Everything was just right, easy, and lovely. Clean, well kept, perfectly stocked. It seemed to be recently renovated - nice appliances, modern heating and cooling units, new pots and pans. So many times when we travel there are little things that become stressors, but really this was just absolutely stress free.

Wonderful place

This cabin was exactly as described. The place was so clean and wonderful. There was a momma and baby deer that we saw several times. The hosts were wonderful. I cant speak highly enough of this cabin. We highly recommend it.

Great cabin and property!

We really enjoyed our stay here! It had everything we needed, and the property itself was awesome. We enjoyed hiking the trail so well-maintained by the owner, and we even hung our hammocks up near the stream to read--amazing!

Relaxing and comfortable

Get away and destress in the wilderness. Great accommodations and peace and quiet to relax. Fire pit with four chairs, grill and chairs on the porch to enjoy the view. Equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. Very clean and we loved the little touches - flashlights in the bedside tables, coffee maker and the brochures for things to do.

Love this place!

This was our third trip here and we both love it. Its away from it all and quite secluded, yet in 5 minutes you can be in Monterey to pick up anything you forgot to bring. The weather wasn't great over our weekend, but we still had a great time. I hope to be back many more times!

Mini-vac

My husband and I just wanted to get away for a mini-vac and we stayed for two nights at this cabin. It was great! The owners thought of everything and they were very helpful in case we needed anything. We saw 17 deer while at the cabin and it was very peaceful there, not too far from a main road. We would definitely recommend this cabin if you don't mind being in an area away from it all. The driveway itself was long, but graveled, and we had no problem at all in our Venza. May need an SUV in the late Fall or Winter. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. MB

Perfect family cabin

We booked last minute and were extremely happy with our choice. Our son launched a rocket at the VAST range south of Monterey, and we could not have asked for a more convenient yet isolated location. The cabin is very comfortable and clean. Plus, we greatly enjoyed the outdoor firepit and star gazing at night. We will be back!

Well designed house. Modern and made of quilty material. Beautiful surroundings. No neighbors to worry about. Owner supplied every needed detail and was available if you wanted to contact. A good choice for nature lovers and those seeking senerity.

Great cabin/very private

The owner, Bud, was very accommodating as we requested to check in a day early & he had it ready for us when we arrived. The cabin had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Everything looked brand new & extremely clean. Every room had remote controlled heat/air systems, the kitchen had everything including 2 coffee makers (drip & Keurig). Also, was fully stocked on Keuring pods. 2 bedrooms with comfy queen beds, lights with charging ports, 2 bathrooms (1 main with shower, & 1 on-suite with toilet & sink). Fire pit with wood already there, adirondak chairs, picnic table under covered roof, gas grill, & beautiful scenery in the woods away from everything. Only thing I would change: bigger TV & possibly have 1 twin & double bunks in each room to sleep more people. Great cabin! Book it, you won’t be disappointed. The owners are great & very responsive.

Great place to stay!

This home was lovely! High up on the mountain side the views are incredible. The house was clean and well taken care of. We've been staying in Monterey VA for several years and this is the nicest place so far. We already plan to return. Great owners were extremely nice.

A Gem of a Place

My wife and I loved everything about this cabin! It's secluded yet isn't far from a little town. The owners have clearly tried to anticipate all the things a renter might want, and we can't think of anything they forgot. The cabin itself is lovely, new, clean, and just plain perfect! If the owners will let us return, we will be back.

Outstanding.

Exceptionally clean, well-appointed cabin. It is also located in an excellent location to explore Highland County. I would recommend this house to the most discerning traveler. The owner was extremely friendly and very communicative. Absolutely top-notch in every regard.
