The Oar House on Vineyard lake

Enjoy lake life with this 4-season charming home, appropriately named The Oar House, in historic Irish Hills, just a short walk to Vineyard Lake. Vineyard Lake is a stunning place to visit year-round. It's a 505-acre all-sports lake, and a winter treasure. It's a known ice fishing destination, with ice cover happening earlier and lasting longer than many lakes in the area.

The Oar House features a double lot, providing our guests with ample room for barbecues, bonfires, and soaking up the fresh lake air. There's enough parking to bring your boat. Our guests have access to the public boat launch (no dock access) and park, including play equipment for the kids.

The cozy, 1,200 sq. ft. home features four bedrooms, with sleeping space for 8 guests, one bathroom, a dedicated game and puzzle room, dining room, reading nook with a daybed/trundle for additional sleeping room, and a spacious living room with a large, comfortable sectional couch. The kitchen boasts ample storage for your vacation provisions, including a full-sized refrigerator, gas range, dishwasher, microwave, and a coffee bar stocked with enough supplies to kick your vacation off right. A washer and dryer are available, and there's also a clothes line in the yard for all of your beach towels and swimming suites to dry out.

Guests may enjoy use of the 2 kayaks, gas grill, yard games, and wood bonfire pit on the property.

The Irish Hills area boasts many beautiful attractions, including over 50 region lakes, sure to please any traveler.

Great weekend getaway

We came with our son and his family. The teens loved the yard games, the toddlers loved the nearby sandoxand swimming area. The first floor was very spacious. Bedrooms were comfortable. Air conditioning much appreciated. Will definitely visit again

Family vacay

We had a wonderful time! The house was very clean and felt like home to us.. we enjoyed the lake, mystery hill, and some of time local restaurants. Owner was very nice and responsive we would definitely stay here again

Juat a short walk to the lake, cottage is tidy, recently renovated, and a great place for our family to stay.

Family vcay fun

We loved staying at the oar house. We had an amazing time with family! Everything was just how the listing was . We had an amazing time in kayaks and paddle boat and the sunset was beautiful! They offered a lot of things we didn’t know they would have. From laundry detergent to all cook ware , air fryers etc thank you for letting our family stay we will return soon!

Very nice stay

We were busy with activities while we were in Brooklyn so we did not get to fully enjoy all that the cottage has to offer. It was an extremely comfortable place to relax and sleep and had a ton of space! We would highly recommend.

Great Vineyard Lake spot

The Oar House is a great place to stay for a visit to the wonderful Vineyard Lake. Everything was as described and we had a wonderful time while visiting with family.

Best lake week!

We have a cottage nearby and renting this allowed our adult kids to join us. They were close and so very comfortable! This cottage had everything we needed… ample parking, air conditioning, laundry, comfy sleeping and puzzles! We didn’t use everything because we were based from our place. But having the ability to have our favorite people with us is priceless! Tom is very communicative and the property is perfect! Thank you!

Enjoyed our stay

Tom Our stay was great last weekend, the breeze at the lake allowed us to stay there a good portion of the day. Saturday without power and water was a challenge though. We were heading out to graduation for 6pm and were getting ready to rent a hotel for us to shower when the power came back on around 3pm.

Weekend getaway

Overall great place for a weekend getaway. The house was cute, very clean, and fully stocked with everything you need for a trip away from home, including extras like books, games, etc. There were plenty of beds and the house itself was a perfect location for the main purpose of my trip. The only downside is the house is not directly on the lake…more like 3 or 4 houses down…and the area at the end of the street doesn’t include any beach or dock access if that is what you are looking for and the part we could use was basically in other houses backyards (although not right on top of the houses so that helped a little). I wouldn’t let that take a way from staying there but do feel important to note depending on what you are staying there for to a valid any surprises. The owners were extremely accommodating and quick to respond to any questions and great to work with. If looking to stay in the area in the future, I would definitely stay here again.

Cozy and relaxing. Amazing pkace!

This place had everything for us to help enjoy our stay. The game room was so enjoyable along with the screened in porch. The beds were comfortable and the availability of the kayaks we could use, was awesome! Thank you for having such a great place, we will be back.

Plenty of room for all to be comfortable

We rented this house for the rusty wallace racing class. Rained entire afternoon so not able to do what we came for but still enjoyed our family time. We spent a lot of time outside enjoying the fire pit, the bbq grill and my favorite I called the she shed that had all the outside toys. Yard games paddle boat (we did not try the kayaks but both were there along with all the things needed for boating (life jackets paddles and hand cart to pull down to the lake). Very nice family even let us fish off their dock. Not the weekend we planned but had a good weekend. Again the house has just about everything needed or even wanted. (Even bathroom spray 😀. ). I’m glad we ended up getting the dates right and was able to stay (date confusion was 100% my fault that was corrected right away). Nothing but good to stay at The Oar House. Lydia

Delightful lake cottage

This cottage was in close proximity to the lake. We utilized the kayaks and the paddle boat, the fire pit and the gas grill. Our grandkids loved the park down at the lake. The house was clean, bright and roomy and we enjoyed our time there fully. Thank you,

Fun Family Getaway

This house was great for our family of eight. The location to the lake was nice, we could see the water from the house and the park was great for the kids. Nice neighborhood with other summer families enjoying the lake. The house offered plenty of games, sand toys, two kayaks and a paddle boat. While we were there the neighbor on the street behind us had loud music playing (Friday and Saturday nights) till late but if you had a fan on in your bedroom it didn't bother you. We loved our time together, it was the perfect size for us.

Lake Life - Brooklyn style

Great property with all the essentials. The screened-in standalone stammtisch w/ outdoor tables were awesome and need to be highlighted.... All the family/lake sport elements (frisbee/cornhole/Yahtzee/float pads/kayak/paddle) with close, managed access to water were there. The in-house game room and living areas were excellent -- lot's of good family time! The firepit was great for evening/Smores action, with an on-property wood supply. The area was popular with weekend before 7/4 and provided the team the opportunity to get to socialize with other folks.
