Looking to ride the trails , escape into the hills with us. We are Located one mile from the Historic town of Matewan , also known as the Battle of Matewan and the Matewan Massacre. Devil Anse trail 21 trailhead is located directly in front of the town . Outlaw trails are in our backyard, cross the bridge in matewan and you can access these trails .Newly remodeled and detached Garage for SXS or ATV parking . No trailering required ride your sxs everywhere !

Please put trash out in bags and place in the garbage cans (2 provided) when you leave. Pick up is on Mon. Waste Mgmt will only pick up if in a bag.
Place dirty dishes in dishwasher and start b4 you leave.
Outside stuff if applicable: Use brush provided to clean cooked-on food off of grill grates and turn off tank gas valve after use. Pick up pet waste.

Nice place for riding the trails, a little road noise at night. Overall a great experience. Lisa was awesome to answer any questions very quickly.

The check in was terrible. Could not get ahold of the lady to give us the codes to get in. Called Customer Service and they couldn’t get ahold of either.

Great spot for trail riders!

This was the perfect property for trail riders, easy access in and out and convenient to several trail heads. The place was very cute, stayed nice and cool and has a garage which is so convenient for storing our UTVs, would recommend for anyone coming to the trails!

To hot to handle

Good property convenient location, good parking and full sized freezer to boot, the ac was not working properly when we arrived. Lisa called before we knew the ac problem existed. She provided other accommodations for us and allowed us to keep our stuff at the original place. She had a hvac tech there the next day however the problem couldn’t be resolved. We spent the week in 2 places. With a refund. Sometimes bad thins happen butI don’t see how she could have handled the situation any better. Her cleaning lady was also extremely helpful during all of this.

Perfect Stay

Our stay at Matewan Riders Retreat was perfect. The house offered everything we needed. The garage was a added bonus and a must have for us! The host we very responsive with quick replies to any questions. We will definitely be back!

Really wish we could of got into the garage Friday nite due to a down pour of rain. Door code was not sent correctly. Any codes we tried for the garage did not work. Parking across the street was hard to get in and out with a truck with a 22ft trailer. Grass was cut but piles left everywhere. Would suggest a partial refund.

Work trip

Hotter inside then outside thermostat would change its self at times up to 85. It would take hours to cool back off. Neighbors where loud, and got blocked in on my way to work.wouldnt stay again

Good access to Hatfield/McCoy trails

Location was very convenient to trails and Matewan. Garage and fire pit was a big plus. Beds were very comfortable after a long day of riding.

Very clean and cozy

Excellent experience from start to finish , host answered all questions promptly and was super helpful. House was clean and very well stocked , Great overall place to stay will def stay again!!!

Dirt biking in Matewan

Nice Grill with propane was provided, garage was a plus with a rainstorm just behind us as we coming back from mountain ride, parking a little shallow for trailers but again..garage so no problem. Firewood also was provided and the area for fire was nice and private. Could have done without the street light over that area, but still very cool. Owner stopped by and let us know they had another parking area across the street if we had more people/trailers. That parking lot was very large. The place was clean, lots of beds, and full size refrigerator with a full size freezer right next to it. Overall great experience and would stay there again. Thanks!

Devil Anse Trail System Stay

The house was located a short distance to town and had every accommodation you would need for your time spent off the trails! The garage was a huge benefit as well!
