Wake up to the Cartecay River at your doorstep. This 4BR/3BA cabin sleeps 10 with a private hot tub, game room, fire pit, and outdoor pavilion, just 10 min from downtown Ellijay and 30 min from Blue Ridge on all paved roads. Fish for Rainbow Trout from your backyard, hike into the adjacent wilderness preserve, or simply relax and take in the scenery.

The Outdoors
Enjoy breathtaking river and mountain views from this elevated riverfront property, with a scenic staircase leading down to private river access. Private riverfront direct fishing access to one of Georgia's best mountain rivers. The Cartecay is home to Rainbow Trout, Redeye Bass, Spotted Bass, Bluegill, and more — your fishing hole is literally your backyard. Soak in the private hot tub with sweeping treetop and mountain views, gather around the outdoor fire pit for s'mores under the stars, or relax under the covered outdoor pavilion while watching wildlife along the riverbank. Walk out the neighborhood gate to the adjacent 2,100-acre Rich Mountain Wildlife Management Area — one of North Georgia's premier destinations for hiking and mountain biking.

The Game Room
Challenge your crew to pool, ping pong, or just kick back with the built-in entertainment setup. The game room also features a queen pull-out sofa bed, extending sleeping capacity to 10 guests total.

This property was great for our family getaway. Host was very accommodating and quick to respond to messages. The view from the porch was beautiful but the hill is very steep and lots of steps uphill. Definitely not ideal property for elderly or those not in great shape. The house was clean and comfy and the hot tub was so nice.

The cabin was so beautiful! From the time we arrived until the time we left there were deer walking through the property it was so neat to just sit back on the porch and watch. The location was perfect and easy to get to and from everything. Definitely recommend Dahlonega Downtown, Elijah Downtown, Amicola Falls, Cohutta Overlook and Reece’s cider to name a few. Great Stay! Peaceful setting

We loved staying here. The outdoor porch and fireplace were wonderful! We also spent some time down near the water fishing and around the fire pit. Great place to gather as a family.

The property is in a good location close to Ellijay. It was nice that each level had its own thermostat and bathroom. The kitchen had everything that you would need. Wonderful view of the river. The home does need a good deep cleaning. There was dust piled up on the basement steps in the corners that had been there for a while, spiders in the basement bathroom along with dead bugs. The outside deck needs to be pressure washed and the chains/railing down the steps to the river need to be tightened for safety. The area close to the river around the firepit needs to be kept up better/mowed/weed eat.

I've addressed this directly with our cleaning team. Regarding the deck, our riverfront location means heavy pollen accumulation is a fact of life in the warmer months, something we do our best to stay on top of between stays. We always encourage guests to reach out to us during their stay if anything isn't right, we're very responsive and would have had someone out the same day. It's always easier for us to make things right in the moment than to hear about them after checkout. We hope you had a good vacation in Ellijay and consider coming back.

Family vacation

We had a truly wonderful few days and Jonathan, our host, couldn’t have been nicer. Promptly responded to any questions we had. The kids were so happy to see all the deer - and we saw many! Property centrally located.

Incredible! Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about our stay. The cabin was clean, spacious, and perfect for our group of 7 (with room for more if needed!) check in was seamless, the property was beautiful. Being secluded with river access but only 10 minutes away from downtown Ellijay, the location was incredible. Would definitely stay here again, what a perfect place for our long weekend!

Nice for a quick getaway

We enjoyed the hot tub, games in the game room, and access to the river(even though it was not the right season). This would be an amazing spot to kayak or float down to and take out since it is located just below Blackberry Falls.

Family Gathering - Five Stars.

We had a wonderful stay. Everything was as pictured and expected Jon was very quick to respond to text when we had questions. Kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed the waffle maker! Personally I prefer t mattress but other than that I have nothing but positive feedback.

Lovely home near Ellijay

We attended a wedding in Ellijay and this home was perfect for our family. The home had 4 bedrooms and a sleeper sofa. The bedroom on the bottom floor was perfect for my son and daughter-in-law because they have an infant. They were able to put him down for naps there away from all of the distractions. The river was lovely and there are lots of deer and other wildlife. We also enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor fireplace. Would love to stay here again.

Fabulous property

The property is beautiful and has so many amenities! We came up for a long weekend for my husband’s birthday with both of our grown kids, their spouses and our 2 month old grandson. I was so excited to find a cabin with 3 king size beds, one for each couple! We will definitely be back!!

Beautiful cabin

We loved our stay! Beautiful cabin!Everyone enjoyed the game room.. steps leading from cabin to water were somewhat steep, we all managed fine, but would be difficult for elderly. Also, we would have enjoyed getting in the water, but too much of an embankment. Loved seeing all the deer & their fawns!!

Family Thanksgiving Getaway!!

Our family went and each of us had our own privacy if needed. The grand children had so much fun in the hot tub while we sat by the fireplace close by. I would highly recommend this place. Matter of fact, that is what my family said too. We saw deer every morning and late afternoon and hearing the water flow from the stream was relaxing. Super nice Thanksgiving time.

Wonderful Weekend!!

Stayed at this incredible cabin for a long weekend - there were 8 of us (our adult children with spouses) - just can't say enough about this cabin and the time we had. Everything from the initial communication with Jonathan through leaving the cabin at the end of our stay was extremely easy. Highlights - the firepit next to the river, the hot tub, the outside fireplace, kitchen (+ outside grill), the expanse of the cabin, bedrooms and bathrooms - all were fabulous and made our time together very special and memorable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

A long weekend get away

We stayed at this property Thursday through Sunday. The cabin is beautiful. The beds were surprisingly comfuly. Kitchen was stocked well! Had fun with the pool table and ping pong too! Beautiful property right on the river. Even has tubes for tubing . Relaxed in the hot tub in the evening. Close to town. Saw deer playing in the yard. Was everything we hoped for and more! Will definitely be back for fishing when it's colder.

Great, quant spot!

This cabin is a great stay. The neighborhood is nice, quiet, and easy to get to. The cabin handled 4 couples with ease and comfort. Plenty of supplies and room for all. The entertainment downstairs was exceptional and fun. The hottub was clean, warm and enjoyable. We truly enjoyed every aspect of this place, for a great price.Our only minor negatives would be: 1) The fire pit area is not for the faint of heart.. emphasis on faint! It’s quite the walk down there albeit the really only viable spot on the property and we still enjoyed it. 2) The front door has a security camera that faces the hot tub area. It would be preferred to not have the discomfort of such camera while in bathing attire.

Mixed Emotions

Very nice home and location. Property needed mowing, bed linens were very dirty and needed washing. Fire pit not cleaned out. No safe access to river. Feel if there's a cleaning crew, they aren't doing the job, nor communicating with owner. Owner needs more "hands-on" with property.

Hi Harry, Thank you for complimenting the home and location. We work hard to keep the house nice and enjoy hosting on Vrbo. After several communications during your stay, I was surprised to see the negative review. I will address each of your comments for prospective guests. - Other guests have have given us high marks on cleanliness, which we take very seriously. Our sheets and towels are cleaned offsite and brought in fresh for each stay. If we had known that you were not happy with the linens we could have had new ones delivered. - The fire pit is outdoors by the river. Given that it is an outdoor fire pit built in the ground, there isn't really a cleaning process for that. We do empty the ash when it becomes full. - There is a hill and stairs to walk down to the river as pictured in our listing. Unfortunately, it can be difficult for elderly or disabled persons to access that area. However, the elevation change does give the house both a view and river access, which is rare. - As far as being hands-on, we actively the property. I know you did have some trouble with the front door lock and I apologize for that. We did respond as soon as you reached out and provided access to backup keys so you never lost access to the house. We also did have a handman at the house same day with new hardware installed within 24 hours during your visit.
