Spacious, Lake Front, Authentic Log Home

Towering Oaks Lodge, a four season, chalet style, authentic log home features a comfortable interior with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a spacious loft. You can gather around the dining table and kitchen seating for meal time and relax in the cozy living room area in front of the wood burning fireplace. The lower level offers more room to spread out with an additional seating area, high top table, pool table, ping pong table, smart tv and spare refrigerator, counter top and small sink.

When you step outside, you will be amazed at the peace and quiet and natural beauty on the shores of Potato Lake. Keep an eye out for majestic bald eagles soaring above the lake, loons and Canada geese swimming off shore, a beaver swimming by and turtles sunning themselves on a log. There are numerous areas to enjoy the northern WI great outdoors.

A small deck near the front door has a table for four. The 12' by 38' foot lake view deck is just steps away from the dining area. There you will find 2 sets of tables and chairs, the gas grill and a cozy hammock.

Walk from the lower level walk-out to the large patio; from there you can head to the spacious fire pit area to enjoy the view of the lake or watch the sunrise with your morning coffee; or head down the stairs to the 36 foot dock and lakeside fish cleaning house. Please note: Towering Oaks Lodge is a high elevation property. There are numerous steps to the lake and dock area, with 2 ample-size decks to relax on the way!

Potato Lake is one of the area's best fishing lakes. The public boat landing is only a mile from Towering Oaks Lodge. Bring your own boat, or rent a pontoon from one of the resorts on the lake.

On a sunny summer afternoon, you'll see boats anchored and swimmers cooling off in the water. Although there are jet skis, water skiers and tubers, the bay is relatively quiet. Explore the 525+ acre lake with the 4 kayaks provided with your rental.

Holiday Stay

This is a great place to stay!!! Fishing was good and people on lake were very friendly. House was great and kids loved running up and down steps to lake and activities inside. Would definitely recommend.

One for the memory book

A Perfect Getaway for Our Multigenerational Family – with a Surprise Ending! We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Towering Oaks! The home was spotless and beautifully maintained. The linens were soft and cozy, and there were plenty of fresh towels for everyone. Our group included grandparents, adult children, and adult grandkids—and there was something for everyone to enjoy.The downstairs space was a favorite with all its entertainment options, and the fire pit area was the perfect place to gather each evening with gorgeous lake views. We caught loads of fish right off the dock and really appreciated the convenience of the fish cleaning shack. The kayaks were clean and in great shape—so fun to paddle around the peaceful lake.The setting itself was beautiful and tranquil, and we even took a fun day trip to nearby Chetek. And to top it all off—the oldest grandson proposed on the lake… and she said yes! It was truly a memorable stay in every way.Highly recommend Towering Oaks for families looking to relax, reconnect, and make unforgettable memories.

We had a great weekend

I brought 9 friends and family to stay two nights just to relax and have some fun. It’s a big place with plenty of seating and room for a big group. The view of the lake is beautiful the neighborhood seems quiet. We all enjoyed our stay

The perfect getaway!

Tina and Paul’s home was just the best. We loved the lake access, all the games available, and the quiet area. We so appreciated the hammock on their deck as well :). They’ve got the place stocked and there is ample room to hang out! We’ll definitely be back again!

Great Lake Getaway

Tina was wonderful to work with. Booking was easy and her notes were great in helping find local food and entertainment. The cabin was fantastic with great views of the lake and plenty of room for our group of 6. Would definitely recommend!

Family getaway

Our stay was just what we wanted! The hosts were great! Our teens were definitely occupied with fishing, boating and games in basement! Our only wish was that there wasn't so many stairs as our family loves to fish but the rest was perfect!

A short trip to get away

We had a great time at the cabin! The area is beautiful and secluded. The cabin is located about 15 minutes away from town. We had kids ranging from 8-15 and they all enjoyed themselves with kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing outside and billiards, ping pong and games inside.

Great property on lake!

We had a great time ice fishing on Potato Lake - we even found fish not too far on foot from the cabin! Cabin was very comfortable and many restaurants/bars in the area to check out.

Quiet & Cozy Oasis

We had a wonderful stay in this cozy cabin with a wood fireplace on a lake in a quiet area. Kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable, furniture was great, and the host was friendly and welcoming. It had everything we needed and more. I would stay here again!

Relaxing Family Weekend

Our family vacation at Towering Oaks Lodge was great! The house was beautiful, comfortable, and very clean! We enjoyed fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, a camp fire, playing pool and table tennis, resting in the hammock, and relaxing on the spacious decks. Tina was an excellent host; she was quick to answer our questions and her attention to detail helped make our stay fun, relaxing, and memorable!

Gather the family

We gathered our children and grandchildren for a six day stay away from many distractions. We all enjoyed mornings on the deck, a pontoon ride on Potato Lake and sitting around the fire pit. The younger generation kayaked, paddle boarded and fished. All in all a warm, wonderful time.

Perfect family getaway

Perfect space to stay with extended family (6 adults, 3 kids). Loved all the things to do with the downtime - hammock, pool and darts downstairs, kayaks and paddle boards. While technically we could swim at the beach, it was more mucky/weedy than sandy. The house was super clean and cozy and stayed cool even on hot days. Hosts were fantastic communicators. Great weekend in the woods. was

Wonderful stay

Beautiful place - so clean too! Lousy weather but no worries! We thoroughly enjoyed just being lazy inside. Reading by the fire, napping, cooking, drinking wine in the evenings, playing cards. We would definitely come back again!

Great Northwoods Cabin

This rental exceeded our expectations. Setting, cabin interior, communication with owner, and items provided for stay. All you need to bring is a few groceries (milk, bread, coffee, etc.). The lower level has a great set-up with a small kitchen, sitting area, ping pong/pool table, and shuffleboard. Wood was provided in the fireplace, along with paper and kindling. Wood was also provided in the firepit outside. Had a small problem with the thermostat and the owner addressed it immediately. We would definitely stay again.

An amazing weekend!

This couldn’t have been a more perfect place for a night weekend getaway with my 5 girlfriends! The house was beautiful and absolutely perfect for us. The weather was great and we took advantage of both the indoor fireplace and the fire pit. The views were incredible, especially from the deck. Thank you so much!

Cozy Cabin on the Lake

The host was awesome! She gave us so much great info about the property & the surrounding area. I still had questions & she was quick to respond. The cabin was just as shown! Beds were comfy. We had a large group & still had plenty of room. The lake was beautiful & very quiet. Grandkids loved kayaking & fishing sun up to sun down. In the evenings we enjoyed sitting around the fire & plenty of fun things to do inside too. There were alot of stairs but even the almost 3 year old & two of us with bad hip & knees managed.

Summer end trip

The cabin was excellent - 4 adults and 6 kids and this place was set up perfect for it. We had everything we needed in the house to cook/grill meals and although we planned on exploring some restaurants in the area we just love being at the house at the end of the day. Lake was great as the kids were able to swim/fish off the dock and the hosts were great as they were able to connect us with someone to get a boat rental which allowed to enjoy the lake all day. If you like having fun and relaxing on the lake this place is perfect as there are no wake hours after 5pm which allow for relaxation by the large fire pit area. We are already looking for a long stay next year with the family we went with.

Potato Lake Family Vacation

This was our second visit to Potato Lake. The fishing on the lake is excellent. The view from the back patio was amazing, and it was the perfect place to sit for our morning cup of coffee or to unwind after a day of fishing. The house itself was comfortable and clean and was a great retreat when the weather didn't cooperate with our plans. There were plenty of games to keep busy with ping-pong, pool, and darts. We also used the poker chips to have our nightly game of cards. We grilled most days and all tools that you need are available, The host Tina was very responsive and friendly. We had a broken step and she came to fix it quickly. Thanks for helping make this a great vacation!

Quick Vacation

Property was very peaceful. Hostess was very attentive and answered text messages quickly. Beds were very comfy. House was clean. Updates were very nice - fire pit and new deck over-looking the lake - very nice! Game room was great too. We could not get the TV to work and some of the doors need a little WD-40! It was hard not to open main bathroom door or main floor patio door without waking someone (we have some early risers in our family). Frig door doesn't close completely without some extra attention - which is hard to remember sometimes! Stairs to the lake are probably more than some could comfortably do - so something to be aware of. There isn't air conditioning that is advertised - although there is a unit outside (just out of order right now) so if air is a deal breaker for you - keep that in mind to double check if it's working or not. We didn't have terribly hot evenings so slept very comfortably. Over-all - I think for a new VRBO set up - these guys are doing great and with the updates they have already made - it's definitely a place to check out! Very quiet and peaceful. We spent a day on Lake Chetek - where we rented a pontoon for the day - that was also great and highly recommended. Thanks Tina and crew for your hospitality.

Perfect cabin living

My mom and sisters flew in from different states for a small get together and we decided to get a cabin to stay at together. After scouring listings for, what felt like, forever… we landed upon this perfect place. Communication with Tina was wonderful and could always rely on quick responses. When we arrived, we couldn’t believe how picture perfect it was. It is exactly the look and feel you want when you stay at a cabin. Along with my two sisters and my mom, two of our friends were able to join as well. We were supposed to have a number of others, but ended up being just 6 of us total in the cabin. We were able to have a bonfire, take the kayaks out on the lake, and just enjoy the peacefulness of being together. The accommodations were perfect. The kitchen was large enough that we were able to all be in the kitchen together to help cook our meals. The thing that really surprised me was the beds. The beds were insanely comfortable. We all slept like rocks, even my mom who is a light sleeper. Everything was wonderful, but I’d go back just for a good nights sleep. The games available on the lower level also made for great fun and breaking in the cabin the first night. We will, without a doubt, be staying there again! And we couldn’t recommend it highly enough to others!

A Super Find!

Our family has rented a lot of cabins over the years and this one is at the top of our list. Cozy, super clean, many amenities, good location and reasonably priced! Owners were very responsive and great communicators!
