Tasty Waves cabin is located in Greenbush, Michigan, just 5 Miles South of Harrisville and 10 miles North of Oscoda. Decorated in a mix of log cabin and mid-century modern, whether you want to unplug and relax, have adventures in Northern Michigan or immerse yourself in the lake life, we have you covered. Enjoy the beach right off the screened-in back porch, hiking/biking, sight-seeing or lighthouse tours and golfing (90 holes nearby). Fall color tours are absolutely wonderful and Tasty Waves is in a perfect location to make it your home base for your travels. We have snowshoes and groomed cross-country ski trails nearby. Winter is great with radiant floor heating and a gas forced-air fireplace.

Thoroughly enjoyed our fall girls trip. This house & property exceeded our expectations. Beautifully appointed, with everything we needed. Spacious, clean, incredible kitchen, comfortable beds. Loved the timed lighting inside & out, along with the heated floors. We spent a lot of time at the fire pit and walking the beach. 10 out of 10!

The cabin was gorgeous and the beach was beautiful. The hosts supplied amenities that many properties would not, such as: several different varieties of snacks, a plethora of beach toys, and lounges, spices that are usually not provided, a vast collection of pots, pans, dishes and silverware (ceramic and plastic), even children's silverware, bar glasses including martini and Moscow Mule copper mugs. Additionally, we experienced some trouble with the bathroom sink, and the host came over to resolve the issue promptly.We would love to find a larger property with 5 bedrooms that has hosts as fabulous as ours were.

Fantastic! Worth every penny. We’re repeat VRBO renters and Tasty Waves is one of the best we've stayed in. CLEAN, clean, clean, organized and such attention to detail. First rental where toilet paper for the entire stay was supplied! Everything you need in & out of the cabin (the bag chairs and beach supplies I brought didn't get unpacked). The owners pride really shows

Amazing stay and incredible location!

This home is incredible and immaculate. When we arrived, we were shocked to see it was fully stocked with bottled waters, a mini snack tower, indoor and outdoor games, kayaks and anything else you can think of for the beach. The kitchen was also fully stocked with coffee supplies, pots and pans, glassware, dishware as well as spices other cooking supplies. The views were amazing and so was the beach. We will definitely be coming back.

Perfection!

This was our second year at the property and it was as perfect as the first time. Miles long walks on the beach several times a day with pure relaxation in the sun in between. The owners of this property take great pride in their home and it shows. We will keep coming back year after year!

Great Week on the Lake!

This was a most enjoyable week in a beautiful log house on Lake Huron. There were six adults over 75 y.o. that enjoyed their time here and were very comfortable, which at our age we need to be. : ) Our hosts thought of everything. We had such a good experience that we booked a week for next year and look forward to another wonderful week on Lake Huron, God willing.

Incredible house

This house is definitely better than the pictures show. Everything was beautiful and Mike and Terry have thought out every detail for you to have a wonderful trip. We’ve had lots of good luck with rentals, but this was top of our list.

Memories to last a lifetime!

Thank you so much for sharing your absolutely beautiful cabin with my family! We had great weather and enjoyed the sugar sand beach every day! Paddle boards, kayaks, endless sand castles, volleyball and bocce ball games are how we spent our days. The large kitchen that was fully stocked with any and all of our needs, made all meal times a breeze! We realized that we over packed when we found how generous the owners were! There wasn't anything they hadnt thought of! We loved playing board games together in the evening from the very large selection provided and read books to our littles from their bookshelf. Such a cozy and relaxing vaction rental. We cannot wait to book again and make more memories!

This was our second year at Tasty Waves and the whole family had the most enjoyable stay. The home is so charming and very clean and has all the essentials you could need. One Week at Tasty Waves is Never Enough!

Wow! I just read the review from the folks who stayed at this cabin the week before us and … “What they said!" We totally agree (except our point of reference is the Grand Traverse Bay area for the past 25 years). Best Michigan beach property we’ve ever vacationed at! This was our second year at the property, and every year there is something new to experience. This year we took advantage of the beach umbrellas for great shade on the beach. And then there’s the new fire circle surrounded by 8 chairs on the interior nook of the beach for late night gatherings under the stars. Even if you don’t actually light-up a fire out there, it’s still an awesome gathering place for sharing drinks & conversation illuminated by the Tasty Waves canoe backdrop. In front of the cabin, the additional landscaping looks great- my wife loves the new lighthouse! And thanks for putting up the new umbrella, table and chairs off the master bedroom — a nice place to write and send emails. Our daughter wanted me to make sure we mentioned the new mix of children’s books and book shelf you added. Our two year old grandson enjoyed looking through the books and playing with the wide range of beach toys stored in the shed. The one thing we missed this year was having our son & new daughter-in-law with us.They’ll be back with all of us next year and we're looking forward to challenging them to volleyball on the new light-up beach court you’ve added! Thanks so much for being such great hosts!

Best beach and lake bottom in Michigan!

Our family has been renting homes on the great lakes since the late 90’s including Torch Lake, Grand Traverse bay, Ludington, Harrisville, Caseville, Sand Pointe and Port Austin. This was our 3rd year in a row at this location. Year #4 will be booked soon! There is not a better property to be found. Beautiful sand from the patio all the way to the waterline. It doesn’t stop there. That same pristine sand extends out on the lake bottom as far as you could possibly touch bottom. Pure sand; no rocks or boulders. The water is pristine. I paddled out on the kayak until the depth was the length of a paddle, 9 feet. I could clearly see the bottom and it had the same ripples in the sandy bottom that could be found at the waterline and all the way in between. In the beach “shed”, you will find almost everything you need for the beach. Chairs, umbrella’s, floats, toys, life jackets, etc. I haven’t even mentioned the house yet. The beach is a 10 and the house matches. If the weather chases you inside, there are plenty of games and puzzles. Suffice it to say, the pictures, descriptions and other reviews under sell this place. I was remiss in last year's review. The host told me they had added a whole house generator. I thought to myself, “so what”. However, an afternoon thunderstorm came through and knocked out power for about 12 hours. For everyone else! We enjoyed uninterrupted power and a very dark shoreline. It was beautiful! This place gets 10 stars!

Best vacation rental home we have ever done!!

Best property!!! Even before we arrived we were reassured that any potential problems would be addressed. . Traveling with a child with different abilities has its stressors.. We had a level of comfort, that we would not have a problem. We were so relieved that there was distilled water since we blundered and forgot to bring ours for her CPAP machine our first night . .. The hosts are gracious, prompt, and considerate. When we arrived, everything was in order. With so many additional extras I don’t even know where to begin all the sunscreen extra beach towels, detergent, paper towels, napkins, paper plates, all the extras we normally bring we’re already there. Cooking for seven people requires a different size cookware and we had no trouble . A very, very pleasant surprise. They were even additional pads of paper over the near the games and entire coffee station in the kitchen with every way of making coffee imaginable. Extra camp chairs were so appreciated as we enjoyed the Oscoda outdoor concert. . Everything was easily accessible for us at tasty waves, including firewood, life jackets paddle boards and kayaks. We loved all the additional lighting outdoors Being Backyardigans fans , we lovinly renamed tasty waves “tiki Beach” We will for sure be coming back. We feel like we have found our special home in Oscoda, Michigan my childhood vacation spot for over 30 years Thank you so much!! to our amazing hosts mike and Terry your hospitality can’t be beat !!!

Stunning Lake Front Retreat

This is our fourth stay at Tasty Waves and we cherish the memories made at this beautiful home. Interior Home is beautifully designed with and appointed with everything you could need for time away. It is so nice not having to think of every little thing we may need while on vacation. While our youngest is now 5 and we do not need small child "perks", they are provided in the home and would be so helpful if we were back in that stage of life. We love the thoughtfulness of snacks/water/coffee/spices in the kitchen. Having books, games, blankets for lounging inside is wonderful. Exteriror You cannot beat the location. The view is spectacular and the outdoor living space could not be more perfect. The outdoor shed is appointed with everything needed for a great beach day. My children love playing with all of the sand toys. The kayaks and SUPs are a great way to spend the morning on calm lake waters. Ending the day sipping a drink while rocking on the porch chairs under the twinkle lights is a great way to unwind. Owners Staying at the Sanders property feels like staying with family. While they pretty much have thought of everything ahead of our stay, I am always met with prompt and kind communication if I need anything during our rental period. We look forward to our stays at Tasty Waves each year, and are already planning our next trip!

Paradise!

Tasty Waves is a beautiful home away from home. From the minute you pull up to the property you feel welcome! And then when you walk through the front door, WOW! A beautiful view to the lake is the first thing you notice. Then you notice the rest of the home which is so beautiful! It was stocked with everything you may need and then some. So many things for the water, boogie boards, kayaks, paddle boards, all kinds of toys for little ones, etc.The hosts thought of everything to make our stay wonderful. There are things to do in Alcona but we chose to just relax, swim, fish, play on or go for long walks on the beach, sit in the screened in porch or down by the fire in the evenings. The sunrise and sunsets were gorgeous! I can't say enough about how much we all loved it there. We will definitely vacation there again soon.

Relaxing experience

Our stay at Tasty Waves was wonderful. The house is so comfortable, well organized and with everything one needs and more to enjoy the area. Especially enjoyed being able to spend time at the different seating areas depending on the weather (inside, screened in porch, porch, outdoor dining area, fire pit area, and the beach. We will remember this stay for years to come.

Perfect Getaway

Wonderful experience from beginning to end! The views are breathtaking and we enjoyed walking for miles on the beach each and every day. The cabin was stocked with everything you could possibly need during your stay, and the hosts were amazing. My husband and I visited in December and they went so far above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect, that I could never thank them enough. Even decorating the home for Christmas when I mentioned it was my husband's favorite time of year. The personal touches were everywhere. It was truly the perfect getaway and we look forward to coming back over and over.

We have been married 36 years and have 3 adult children. We live in Alpena, Michigan, only a 45-minute drive from the cabin, and are very attentive to the needs of our guests.

Tasty Waves is a unique modern cozy cabin on wooded lot with beautiful sandy beachfront. The lake is shallow for a good distance, making it family friendly and enjoyable for children. We have 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boards, as well as other water toys for fun in the sunshine. We have lots of games and puzzles and a screened covered porch for days when the weather is not at its best. The cabin is open year-round.

The cabin is located in Northeast Michigan on an epic beach. You can find some of the best golfing in Michigan (90 holes) within a short drive of the cabin. Lakewood shores has three challenging 18 hole courses, one of which is the Scottish links course, that can be humbling experience. You will have great towns and cities to explore, such as Harrisville and Oscoda within 10 miles, Tawas within a 30 minute drive, and Alpena within 45 minutes. Multiple trail hiking complex's within 15 miles. The Au Sable river for paddlers of all types.
The property has a trail with with small dunes that lead you to the beach that will provide a stunning view. You can walk for miles either north and south along the beach. You will have plenty of things to do at your leisure. In the evening enjoy a fire by the beach under the stars. In the morning you wake to the sounds of the waves and a sunrise that you won't forget. Coffee at sunrise on the porch off the master bedroom a great start to the next day.
Fall color tours are amazing in Northern Michigan. Winter brings snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on groomed trails a short distance from the cabin.
