Babo's Bungalow on Lake Martin

Escape to our beautiful waterfront getaway on Lake Martin! This cozy, single-level home is perfect for families, sleeping 8 guests in 3 bedrooms. Enjoy stunning views from the large screened porch, a gentle slope to the water ideal for all ages, and a calm slough for swimming and boating. Your unforgettable lake vacation starts here, complete with kayaks and a fire pit.


Relax in the shade in one of the hammocks or the swing. Plenty of room for parking. Bring your own boat and put in at boat ramp 5 minutes away and park your trailer at the house and boat at the dock. We also provide four adult kayaks and two kid kayaks and there are universal adult life vests but please bring correct size life vests for any kids.

There are two parking spots at the dock for your boat or a rental boat. Pontoon rentals at Harbor Pointe marina. 15 minutes by car and about 25 minutes by boat from the house.

Nearby Boat Ramps: Dare Park and Smith Mountain Landing

Only 2 minutes to the historic Smith Mountain Fire Tower and hiking trails. You can go up the restored tower for a beautiful view of the lake from the top.

**Seasonal Water Levels:** Please be aware that Lake Martin is operated by Alabama Power Company. They lower the water level by approximately 6 feet each winter, typically from mid-October to mid-March. During this off-season period, the water at our dock is too shallow to accommodate a boat.

However, the kayaks can still be launched and used, and this is a wonderful, peaceful time to enjoy the beautiful views and explore the local hiking trails.

*The pontoon boat is not for guest use. There are three exterior security cameras that view the front door, driveway, and boat house.

Wonderful!

Book it! Will not regret it, great location on a quiet cove, close to grocery store, marina, Niffer’s. Also close to Smith Mtn Tower hike! Matt is great as a host!

Wonderful Week

Our time at Babo's Bungalow was great. The home was clean and comfortable. All the things we needed were there. The screened in porch was the best and we loved the dock for our boat. The cove was perfect and quiet for relaxing evenings on the water. I'd go back in a heartbeat!!

Auburn getaway weekend

This location and home are beautiful. Most everything you’ll need is included. Weather was gorgeous so we took advantage of kayaking by day and star-gazing around the fire pit at night. Wonderful place for families to gather!

The host was very responsive and very nice.The house was in the perfect spot. Our favorite spot was the back porch. My son fished for a long time and used their kayak and had a blast. My daughter had some friends over and they had a lot of fun kayaking and just hanging out on the back porch.

This place is amazing! From the awesome dock space to the kayaks to the sandy beach water entry I can’t pick my favorite spot. Enjoyed dinner on the back porch and the kids used the outdoor shower every night. This place is extravagant. We loved it and will return!!!

Spring Break

Our family has been vacationing on Lake Martin for 20 years. It is a family favorite. From fishing, kayaking and day trip to Auburn, this property was perfect!!!! The house has EVERYTHING you need !!! We will look forward to our next visit ❤️

Great lake trip!

The property was so relaxing! We loved the dock, sand beach, and screened in porch. These amenities made it so easy to spend time outside with the kids. The property had many beach toys and we loved the outdoor shower. We slept so well! The mattress on the beds were great and we loved that the house stayed cool on a really humid day.

Family trip to the lake

We came to see family and do some fishing. The property was absolutely perfect. The large screened in porch was wonderful for dinners and the fire pit was perfect for s’mores. The house had all the essentials we could have asked for. The property manager was extremely responsive even late at night. We would definitely rent this house again!

Lake Martin Weekend

My family and I had a wonderful weekend getaway to Lake Martin. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The kids really enjoyed the kayaks. The only negative was we had to leave and go back to work. Matt was very responsive to any questions we had. Thanks Matt!

Quiet getaway

Great out of the way place. The neighbors were quiet and their yards were kept up nicely. My kids loved the lake front and swimming so close to the house. The only issue was if you do have a boat trailer it is a tight turn to get in the driveway. Other than that this property gets 5 stars. Would definitely rent again.

Auburn Football Weekend

This was the perfect place for my three brothers and me to stay for our annual Auburn game weekend reunion. The house was very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed coffee in the mornings on the beautiful screened in porch. But the highlight for us was our time around the fire pit each night. Matt is also a very responsive host. We all agree we hope to stay here again next year!
