Welcome to Orchard's Edge: An Arts and Crafts inspired cottage-style home nestled amongst 20 acres of red & white pines, aspens and maples- minutes from all the best that Door County has to offer! Orchard's Edge offers everything you would want for a perfect vacation. All of the world-class recreation, shops, and dining for which Door County, Wisconsin is known, in a craft-built and meticulously maintained home with all of the amenities one could ask for. Perfect for either a weekend getaway or a week-long vacation, Orchard's Edge is a fully-furnished home complete with linens, cooks kitchen, laundry, air conditioning, internet, and much more. The cottage features 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, and can more than comfortably accommodate up to 8 people. Plenty of space for a large group or family.
The cottage is located 5-minutes from downtown Fish Creek (home of the famous White Gull Inn Restaurant), Egg Harbor (artisan cheese makers and bakeries, the one of a kind Main Street Market, beach, breweries) and the renowned Peninsula State Park (considered Wisconsin's 'most complete state park' ); 10-minutes from the Baileys Harbor (Lake Michigan shoreline, highly regarded Chives Restaurant, and best coffee at Bearded Heart) and Ephraim (where Wisconsin meets the charm of the east coast); 15-minutes from Sister Bay (don't miss the goats on the roof at Al Johnson's). Two minutes away you will find a scenic, 200 acre, world-class 18 hole championship golf course at The Orchards. Enjoy all of the modern comforts of home while surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of Door County, Wisconsin.

Beautiful retreat

This is the perfect home and location for a three-generation family trip. This was our second stay. The house had everything we needed and we could spend quality time together on the first floor cooking meals and relaxing without technology (there is a nice large screen tv on the second floor if we had wanted, on the first floor it was refreshingly hidden away in the cabinets). We were also minutes away from great restaurants, activities, orchards, galleries, hiking, and all that Door County has to offer. Thanks again for another wonderful visit!

Excellent Door County home

Very nice and spacious home deep in the woods. Had a minor issue which was handled by the property manager quickly. Would definitely recommend and consider this property in the future.

50th Birthday Get-away

A group of 7 of us selected this property for our 4 night/5 day stay in Door County. The listing was an accurate depiction of what to expect. We planned to do a fair amount of meal prep at the house and packed whatever we thought we may need. Well, the kitchen is well stocked with nearly everything you could imagine. I'm embarrassed to say - but the only thing we really could have wanted was another fridge!! I also would share that while out back, by the grill, there were plenty of times where we could get a strong smell from what we were thinking was the mound system or septic tank - not pleasant, but I don't know if that is an easy fix. Our contact person, Jeff was fantastic! Super responsive. Was on top of getting details back to me to address questions. In the final paperwork it spoke about collecting an additional $2000 towards damage reserve, and that part was a bit confusing, because that was not really collected with our final balance due before arriving. Would stay here again in the blink of an eye. Perfect location - plenty of space - we had a blast catching up! There are lots of bugs around the house as it is surrounded by woods, and yes, some were found inside too. It was not a cleanliness issue though at all!! Thanks again!

A Hidden Gem!

Orchard's Edge was the perfect home away from home for our stay in Door County. The house was immaculate and included a well appointed kitchen. We appreciated being greeted with a little gift of local goodies. There are lots of cozy spots throughout the house for relaxing, reading and chatting. Surrounded by trees and tucked in a secluded little spot the house is still central to everything! There were 6 of us staying; 4 adults and two teenagers. The space was perfect. Everyone had their own bed and the upstairs family room was a great place for the teens to hangout at times. Everything we needed to enjoy our time there was provided, even beach chairs and towels. It was wonderful to enjoy coffee together in the morning on the patio or in the sunroom and end our day around the table playing gamers. Check in was very easy and Jeff, the property manager, touched base after our first day. It was clear he was available as needed but not intrusive in any way. If we're lucky enough to visit Door County again, we'll definitely want to return to Orchard's Edge!

Over 100 years ago, this special and historical parcel of Door County property was originally part of an apple orchard. It was purchased in 1959 by a woman who helped make the Door peninsula nationally renowned for its art scene- Irene Pamperin Haberland. Born in 1902, she was a college graduate, an art teacher, took flying lessons in the ‘20s, charted horoscopes, and backed Broadway plays including the local Peninsula Players Theater. In 1959, believing a woman should have spending money of her own, she craftily figured out how to take out a loan to buy the 80 acres this home is seated upon in Fish Creek. She told people it was because she had fallen in love with some trees. When people asked her what she would do with all that land she quipped, "Walk on it.” In 1969, upon the death of her husband John, she moved from Milwaukee to this property and started the Edgewood Orchard Gallery in the old 1918 barn on the West end of the with her daughter Anne. When Irene passed away in 1979, her daughter Pam inherited a 20 acre parcel of the original 80 acre apple orchard. With the vision of a 1930's cottage in her mind, she had Orchard's Edge built in 2002.

In addition to all the amenities one would come to expect in today's home, Orchard's Edge features stunning millwork and doors, eaves and art deco tiling, a grand fireplace in the great room, and much more. Surrounded by the serenity of the vast woods, relax and enjoy either of the two flagstone patios before exploring a hiking trail in the expansive woods. Relish the charm the house offers through the open flow from the kitchen to dining room to living room. The fully equipped custom kitchen island offers a place for the family to relax, have a snack or share the memories of the day while cooking a wonderful meal. The master bedroom on the first floor, plus the two bedrooms on the second floor combine to sleep 6 comfortably. A pull-out sofa bed in the expansive second floor family room brings the total sleeping accommodations to 8 people. Additional rooms on the first floor include a lovely all season sun porch, powder room and a laundry room. The living room showcases a grand fireplace, with two book-filled walls and French doors that open to the back flagstone patio. High speed internet access via Wi-Fi is available anywhere in the house. The master bath on the first floor has both a walk-in shower plus an extra deep soaking tub. The second-floor bath has a tub and shower combination. The house enjoys both central air conditioning and heat plus a washer and dryer. The house affords beautiful views from the many windows in each room that gives it a bright and airy feeling.
