Biwabik Bunkhouse near Giants' Ridge

Beautiful lake home on Embarrass Lake, 5 miles to one of the premiere ski and golf resorts in Minnesota, (the Quarry and Legend) and just over 60 miles north of Downtown Duluth. Almost 3600 square feet with nearly 200' of beautiful and sandy lake shore with a gorgeous swimming beach with two docks and a boathouse. Pontoon boat on site is available for rental, as well!

Gaze at the stars from the beautiful wrap-around deck. Spend the day relaxing in the shallow sandy water. Enjoy the evening with a bonfire on the beach shore, playing bags from the walkout basement, with tons of activities to keep the family busy: playground, dartboard, Air hockey table, Shuffleboard table, pac-man video games, pellet smoker/grill, foosball, sauna, wet bar, TV's, Internet, and too many other things to list!

Bonfires, star gazing, wildlife, 1000's of acres of public land, OHV/ATV Trails, Paved biking trails, and Giants' Ridge (skiing, snowshoeing, golf, top notch restaurant, ....) being a stones throw from the property... We truly believe there is something for everyone at this beautiful retreat.

This was the perfect house for a large group. Plenty of room. We were there in the winter, so, lakefront questions are irrelevant. It was very convenient to Giants Ridge.

We hosted Thanksgiving for close family and friends and literally everything we needed for cooking dinner and serving to everyone. Our family was so comfortable and cozy in a snowy wintery wonderland.

Good things: Beautifull location, house is very spacious and feels luxurious. Good communications & response time.Challenges: Furnace had issues (cold house when checking in), lots of lady bugs trying to hibernate in the house. I had to light the pilot light to the fireplace.Summary: While really nice, I don't think it was worth the high cost to stay at the house, given the challenges we had.Recommendation to owner/operator: Put a "temperature stick" in the house to be aware of when there are furnace issues. They are cheap "insurance".

Beautiful lakefront home. Especially enjoyed time on the lake with a variety of small watercraft toys (kayaks, paddle board and canoe). Small hiccup with not having the correct code to the door at checkin; resolved with a couple phone calls.Kindly refunded pet cleaning fee on day of check in when we didn’t bring our dog.Easy to communicate with throughout the week when various questions came up. Enjoyed our stay overall.

Had a great stay, love the house. I didn't even realize there was a third level and an extra loft space. The outside photos don't show how pretty the property is because the leaves aren't on the trees in the pics. The owner was very responsive and helpful. The house is close to many activities, but you might not want to leave. The only slight drawback, and it wouldn't prevent me from staying again, is some road noise floats across the lake from the highway depending upon the wind. But otherwise an amazing stay!

Great proximity to Giants Ridge

This was a great location for a large group near Giants Ridge resort and golfing. The house was so beautiful that we seldom left.

Embarrassing

The house was perfect. But this lake has no fish in it . We usually end up with loads of fish to take home when on vacation. We had 3 people fishing in our group and they didn’t catch anything. No sunfish, walleyes, grappies, not even a bullhead.

Snowmobile race weekend at the ski hill

House is in a great location, has room for everyone. Nice bar downstairs along with lots of games. Would stay again for sure

Lovely layout and location, best in Summer

We stayed here with my extended family of 6 adults one baby in the later winter. Proximity to Giants Ridge and Snowmobile trails was excellent, the layout of the home was perfect for a group our size, but their isn't good climate control for a winter stay. Heated floors weren’t working, and there was no central air. Fire place added some warmth and ambiance but didn’t heat the home. I bet this place is lovely in the summer and fall, but didn’t meet the needs of.a winter stay. Our host was communicative and we got a discount off our stay, which was appreciated. Best part, huge windows overlooking the lake and a sauna.

Excellent Property and Stay

This is a wonderful place to stay with a large group of people. The house has all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. There is so much room for everyone to spread out and enjoy themselves. Due to the MN winter weather, we were not able to enjoy the outdoor space.

Mesabi Ski Race

The trip was amazing, largely because of the amazing home we stayed in. Everything was wonderful. There are multiple spaces for kids to spend time. There are activities for them to do, and large hang out spaces including a huge dinning room table! The house is clean, the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are big, and the linens are fresh. The host is amazing! So helpful and kind! We can't wait for next year!!

Relaxing spot for annual Ohv trip

We had two trucks/trailers full of atv’s, the driveway is pretty steep in one spot but we hauled in and out without trouble. Great relaxing environment in the cabin, sauna gets nice and hot and the lake makes a good cold plunge. Hosts were very responsive. You’ll enjoy it.

Great spot

This house worked well for our group of 9 golf buddies. Plenty of room. Close proximity to the golf courses. Kris was in constant communication to make sure we were taken care of.

Visit the lakes

We attended a wedding at the near by Giants ridge. The house was beautifully situated on embarrass lake. We kayaked and enjoyed the big deck. Hiked some trails. Great place for kids and family get together. Clean and spacious.

Better than expected

We used this property for a family reunion. I really want to stress that I think the home is better than the pictures, which is never expected. As every family member arrived it was awesome seeing how excited they were when they toured the house, lake and grounds. It was a special experience and now my husbands family is talking about going for a week next year. I highly recommend!

End of summer

Nice big house with amazing views. We had 16 people and never felt crammed. Plenty of fun things for the kids to do the whole time and the beach was a lot of fun for the kids. Lots of privacy and would definitely stay here again.

Remarkable Place! WOWZA!

Best VRBO ever. This house has all the bells and whistles, and I mean ALL. It is near Biwabik (Amazing bike trails and skiing) and on a gorgeous lake. We kayaked, took out the pontoon, lounged on the lily pad, swam, and watched sunsets from the enormous wrap around deck. Kitchen and family room are great. At night, we went downstairs to the “bar’ and played darts, foosball, and shuffleboard. It has a sauna! Beds are comfy, and there are LOTS of them. Our dogs were in heaven too. We had trouble with the grill, but communication with Kris was excellent.

Kris, Adam, and Jake all instantly fell in love with this property-- for a variety of different reasons, too! Adam has been a lifelong downhill skier and loves being within 5 minutes of Giants Ridge. Kris has been fishing since he was able to bait his first hook. And Jake has made it a point to visit all of the top golf courses in the state-- so having two (#1 and #8 in 2021) within 5 miles was a huge plus!

Our three families are committed to the outdoors and helping others experience what we love so much. Be it a 4-wheeling trip, mountain biking on the iron range, or simply a base camp to do whatever your heart desires, we are truly hopeful to help you folks spend a great time in the north woods. Sampling parts of what we enjoy so much about being in nature. Just make sure you bring extra s'mores for the fireside chats on the shore!

We were not looking for a vacation rental property. Until we found this one. From the first moment we stepped foot on the property and saw the sun setting over the lake, we were all hooked. With the two story fireplace, the ability to house all of our families, and to top it off with having a place to share with others.... We feel truly blessed to be able to share our home with you and your family to create more memories.
