Post and Beam Carriage House in the heart of Mad River Valley

Charming post and beam with vaulted ceilings, one bedroom with loft, large common space and covered parking. It is located up on a hill in Fayston just 5 minutes from Waitsfield center and Mt. Ellen. The secluded property has a stream and beautiful views of Lincoln Peak, Mt. Ellen and Mad River Glen. The living space includes a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table, a TV/sitting area and a pool table. Bedroom has king size bed and a loft with 3 single beds. There is a large bathroom with a shower and plenty of storage. This apartment has all major appliances including a dishwasher and a separate laundry room with washer and dryer.

This property is really gorgeous and was perfect for a relaxing weekend away for me, my husband, and my son! The pool table was so fun and the setting was beautiful. What I was most impressed by was the responsiveness and communication from the host. In my very overworked brain, I showed up a day earlier than I was supposed to, but the host was so gracious and got me into the property a day early! Also, when in Waitsfield, go get donuts from Twisted Halo!

Great place. Beautiful views of the mountain. We loved the pool table. Kitchen is fully-equipped. Cozy bedrooms. Stairs to loft are very narrow and steep. Also be mindful there is dirt road to travel on to get to the house. We would stay here again.

Family Vacation

This hit the spot! All pictures and descriptions were accurate. Lovely, clean, spacious loft for the 4 of us. Great location in terms of accessibility to many locations: Waitsfield, Stowe, Warren, Waterbury and Burlington all of which we visited in our 3 days.

Amazing place!

The space was perfect for a weekend getaway and so much fun. There’s plenty of activities to do in the house; the pool table and table tennis were especially fun. The surrounding environment is really picturesque and relaxing.

Excellent place

The Mad River Valley is one of the nicest places to be in the whole country, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a better place to stay in Waitsfield than right here. It's exactly as the listing says, and our stay couldn't have been any easier or more convenient. 10/10 would stay again.

Perfect getaway to Mad River Valley

This was the second time we stayed at this cozy carriage house and again we were so pleased with everything. It is very clean, comfortable and has everything to make your stay absolutely perfect. It is also close to town which is very convenient. Jennifer is an excellent host! I can’t say enough positive things about this place!

Fun summer getaway to Mad River Valley

Had a great time with our teens and dog. Property has a great view of mountains and is a quick drive to town for groceries and restaurants. Also near swim holes and dog parks. Pool table was a bonus and lots of board games available too.

Perfect mountain escape!

Loved staying at the carriage house and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a place to stay while hiking in VT. The pool table was a big hit and the kitchen was well stocked and very clean.

Hospitality and charm to the max!

Our group was an extended family reunion of sorts, including three adult siblings, each from different NE states, and one elementary aged child. We booked the carriage house for a fun weekend away to experience the 2024 Eclipse in the path of totality. The carriage house ended up being perfect for our needs. Cozy and charming, with great views. The well-stocked kitchen made mealtime a breeze, and the pool table was a huge bonus for our motley crew of kids-at-heart. Will definitely be back the next time we are in the Mad River area. Jen went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable during our stay, even inviting us to view the eclipse from the deck of the main house after our check out that morning, which made for a truly unforgettable experience. Thanks again!

Ski weekend

Gorgeous post & beam apartment with a view of the slopes. The kitchen is well appointed, there was a huge supply of fluffy white towels & heating lamp in the bathroom was so nice! But the pool table was the ultimate hit with my teenagers! We’ll definitely be back!!

Lovely retreat in the hills of Vermont

We had a wonderful stay over the July 4 weekend- dodged some rain and saw some sunshine- the view of hills are beautiful either way from the living area of this beautiful carriage house. Enjoyed some nice walks in Waitsfield, visited Stowe, Waterbury and also Burlington and Montpelier. Rainy evenings spent playing pool in the living space, cooking together in the well appointed kitchen area or relaxing with a book in the comfortable sleeping areas. The stairs to the second sleeping area in the loft are a bit steep, but we navigated them twice a day with so much to do downstairs! Thanks for hosting us.
