We’d like to invite you to enjoy a relaxing stay at our vacation home in Fischbach, at the foot of the Großer Inselsberg ski area.
The bedroom has beds for two adults and two children (children in bunk beds). An additional bed is available upon request.
The living room is furnished with comfortable furniture and features a color TV with satellite reception and a radio.
A kitchenette is available, equipped with a refrigerator, two hot plates, a toaster, a coffee maker, cutlery, and dishes. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, hair dryer, and toilet.
A terrace with a panoramic view of the Thuringian Forest and part of the village invites you to relax. Parking for your car is located right next to the vacation home.
Are you traveling by train? I’d be happy to arrange a transfer to and from the Gotha train station.
A wide variety of excursion and hiking destinations await you in the idyllic countryside around Fischbach. Discover the famous Rennsteig trail or explore Wartburg Castle near Eisenach and experience history up close.
The nearby Tabarz Kneipp spa is a special destination for nature lovers and active vacationers: Enjoy this hiker’s paradise on foot, on cross-country skis, by bike, or take a guided Segway tour through the Thuringian Forest. In the summer, the climbing forest awaits you; in the winter, the ski resort on the Großer Inselsberg looks forward to your visit. Those who love speed will find plenty to enjoy on the summer toboggan run and at the fun park on the Kleiner Inselsberg. Afterward, head to the Tabbs wellness spa to relax.
Thuringia’s urban landscape is also worth a visit: Discover the cultural city of Weimar in the footsteps of Goethe and Schiller, or visit the state capital, Erfurt.
But Fischbach itself has plenty to offer as well: The Bergbühne, built in 1952, is known for its folk events and concerts. Herbert Roth, Marianne & Michael, Stefanie Hertel, Hansi Hinterseher, Florian Silbereisen, and many others have performed here.
Just a few meters from your vacation home, on the 414-meter-high Sandberg, a small mountain hut invites you to take a break. From there, you’ll enjoy a unique view of the Thuringian Forest, stretching from the Hübelkopf over Leuchtenburg to the Großer Inselsberg at 916 m. After your walk, you can treat yourself to some Thuringian home-style cooking at “Linde,” located just 300 m from the vacation home.
If your feet are sore, I’d be happy to pick you up after your hike in the surrounding area.
