Pirate Harbor

We were excited to stay in Pirate Harbor to check out the neighborhood! It is truly a great area and fantastic people! It was quiet at night and people were friendly during the day. The check in was hard. The only part that has the address is the main house. Arrival at night was different to find the right entrance. The home must have just got a new roof. While I understand the challenges that surround that with clean up, it was rough. My kids were cleaning huge nails out of the pool and the pool was dirty. There was no pool skimmer to help clean it and no one came to clean it. The drive way was lined with nails and we just hoped our rental car did not get one. Just suggestions... Add something for the address or a map for check in. Add a pool skimmer. The kitchen could be checked for supplies. If you offer the pull out couch for 4 guests, make sure the extra sheets/pillow cases you have enough for all bedding. Check the towels, they have stains. We made the best of our stay and it was ok.. I have stayed in other vrbos that paid more attention to these details.

Good location with privacy

The location is great but it is about 20 min to town. Its on dead end street with conservation land across the street so it is very private. Communication was excellent meeting our needs. The kitchen could use some things like a cookie sheet a cover for the frying pan food storage etc. The pool and canal were very nice additions and we enjoyed our stay We would have booked next year but they increased the price and for a one bedroom we decided to go ElseWare.

75th birthday

Property was beautiful, in great neighborhood. Neighbors were friendly. Close to all attractions, shopping, eating. Only worries were no sweeper for proper cleaning (cause we had pets) and no cover on pool so leaves in it all the time. But wasn't heated so couldnt swim anyway.

Jolly Roger review

Very nice property and neighborhood. I did buy several items for the kitchen and the furniture needs to be updated. Only 1 chair and couch. No end tables or lamps. We bought a lamp for the next guests. Overall a good rental.

Overall good, but a few issues

Overall we had a nice stay. The neighborhood is quiet, neighbors were friendly, the property was clean and the property manager was friendly and responsive. There are some things I want to mention so anyone renting this in the future has the right expectations. As of Nov ‘23, the pool area does not seem to be accurately pictured or described since hurricane Ian. I did see mention of the pool screen being gone, but that was it. Everything mounted to the ceiling like fans, speakers, TV mounts, etc were rusty and non-functional during our stay. Only one set of lights works over the bar outside, so there is very little light at night. The pool light was also burnt out during our stay, so using the pool area after dark is not really enjoyable unless they fix this. The property manager did say they were trying to fix the pool light, but it never happened during our stay so she gave us a 10% refund. There were other little things inside, like a toilet running, a door that doesn’t seal on the bottom (lots of ants and some small frogs got in) and some broken built-in blinds. It should also be noted that the pool area could potentially be shared if the owners are in town. There owners did show up towards the end of our and asked if we were the cleaners, as they supposedly misunderstood the checkout date. This was all a bit uncomfortable, but after bringing up with the property manager, they did allow us to keep private pool usage. It was just awkward until they left.

The swimming pool was very dirty. I emailed the manager. No resolve. Couldn't use the pool. House was great.

Breathtaking

The entire stay here we were not disappointed. It was in a quiet neighborhood which made the whole stay very relaxing. Boat ramp access made it very convenient for us with taking out our jetski to cruise around the areas. The house was very clean, having access to a washer and dryer was a huge plus ! Owners were very friendly and responded very fast and answered any questions I had. I highly recommend staying here.

Great vacation spot

We originally chose this place because of the pool. My daughter is a little water bug, so if we couldn’t be on the ocean, we had to have a pool. This place exceeded all expectations. It was clean, organized, and spacious even with it only being a 1 bedroom. We will absolutely stay here again!

Beautiful Property

Loved the house! We were immediately welcomed with manatees and coming from Montana we’d never seen one. The neighborhood was extremely quiet and we enjoyed driving around looking at the houses. The house had everything you would need. Would stay again! Thank you!

Peaceful Relaxing

We really enjoyed our stay. The area was very peaceful and relaxing. The canal offered the escape my husband needed (even with the no-see-ums). The house was comfortable especially the master bed, always woke up rested.

Relaxing stay

Property is in a quiet residential area. Property Manager was great to work with. Exterior of property could use some maintenance (weeding, warped boards on bench, etc.) in addition to some understandable repairs from recent storm damage. Overall great property we would consider staying again.

Peaceful getaway

The Lookout property was roomy, up-to-date and clean. Very quiet and peaceful area. The canal is interesting, lots of jumping fish and even saw a manatee. Many birds, including Herron and Osprey. Close to Punta Gorda’s Fisherman’s village and waterfront area. Ate at FM Don’s, Celtic Rays Irish pub and Riveria Waterfront Grill. Overall, a very nice place, especially if you want serenity. Melissa was very responsive to our questions. We will be back.

Very nice place to stay

We enjoyed this comfy home and comfy bed. The bedroom was a nice size as well as the bathroom, kitchen and livingroom. It was very well equipped. Being on the canal was calming. I recommend having a fishing rod. Fish were jumping! The sunset was magnificent. No houses in front of this house-all natural wooded area, possibly wetlands. The subdivision is mid- upper class. It does take 15 minutes or more to drive to the market or any other shopping. Fisherman’s Village was 15-20 min away and we loved it. We went 3 times in the week we stayed at this rental. Had to keep going to Harpoon Harry’s for dinner on the water. Loved their food and drinks. We also stayed at the house and used the new BBQ. We have 2 small well trained housebroken dogs. The 2 yo was into the little lizards. Haha! I definitely recommend this rental.

Great stay at the lookout

We had a great time at the lookout. The unit is perfect for a couple or small family, and is well stocked for anything you may need. Super clean, comfortable and well maintained. Melissa was fantastic to work with even though we did not have any issues while we were there. The location was very convenient to grocery stores and I-75. I was pleasantly surprised by how much less traffic there is in the area compared to Ft Myers area - we were ready to move right in ha ha! The neighborhood is fantastic. All the neighbors we encountered were friendly, fishing was fantastic, and wildlife was everywhere. Watch for the otters while you enjoy your morning coffee! The canal is a gem and having the dock onsite was a huge plus. It was on the colder side when we visited so we were unable to enjoy the pool area. I look forward to enjoying it on a future trip. A true gem!
