Stocked with everything we needed (kitchenwares, linens, extra pillows, beach chairs etc), which was so convenient. Close to pier and great view from both decks. Would stay again!

We visited for a sistercation, party of 3! The house is very cute inside. The kitchen was well stocked and everything was in working order and clean. The location is awesome and the views from the decks are great! We loved that it’s self check in too. Hurricane Erin provided monstrous waves with hundreds of surfers putting on a great show! We found a few shark’s teeth and saw dolphins.

October Stay Review

We had a few issues with things in the house but the owner was very prompt in responding and the issues were unexpected and not from the owner's neglect. There are some things that need addressing though. The MAIN thing is the photos of this house. I chose this place because it was very important to me to have an oceanfront view, which included the beach and shoreline, not just a view of water. The photos are completely false. The dunes are so high now that you can only see out to the water from the decks. No shoreline view. No crashing waves. No people watching. In the photos you can see the shore from the parking side of the house. Not so now. The view is completely blocked by the dunes. Updated photos are very much needed. I was so disappointed with the view. I would not have chosen this house if the photos had been accurate. The beds were not comfortable at all and some of the ceiling fans need to be replaced. Some memory foam mattress toppers would go a long way for comfort. We could not use our bedroom ceiling fan as it made a very distracting noise. Positives are the cleanliness and equipped kitchen and linens. I really hope the owner adds updated photos so someone else is not as disappointed with the view as I was.

Really nice, but roaches

The place was very nice, well furnished with basics amenities, extra toys and supplies for the beach, ample parking. We saw roaches and reached out to the contacts for the property. They didn’t respond, but an exterminator came the same day. Unfortunately, more roaches were found after the exterminator came, which put a damper on an otherwise great experience. The only other complaint would be the door knobs. They were very difficult to open and lock, especially for smaller children. The key is in a lockbox on the door, but doesn’t look like there is a way to change the combination.

Great location

Great location at Oak Island. Communication was good before and during the stay. The house had everything we needed and the kitchen was well stocked. The binder in the kitchen provided ample information for arrival, departure, and area information.

Beautiful ocean view!

We loved being ocean front! The view was amazing and everything was as listed. It was a wonderful way to celebrate Thanksgiving with friends at the beach. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Great little place

A bit older, no gourmet cooking, but a cute little place on the beach with a great view. Upstairs bedrooms were amazing. Slight moldy smell, but in all fairness we were there the week after a hurricane.

Great location

Pros-Plenty of room! Laid out perfect for a fun vacation. Easy access to the beach and the pier. Close to the grocery store and restaurants. Plenty of utensils and dishes for the biggest crowds. Plenty of parking space. Cons- Every door in house needs adjusting. The entrance/exit doors have to be dead-bolted or they will open on their own and daylight can be seen when secured. I understand it’s at the beach but basic maintenance is key! Screens missing on most windows. No lights working under the house even though there’s a switch. Definitely needs attention to the upstairs deck. Loose and missing boards. Overall we had a great experience.

The Pierspective house

.Great access to beach, near fishing pier and close to stores. The golf cart was a great plus with four people. Good sight seeing with the golf cart.

We had a great stay at Our Pierspective

The house is in a great location and exactly as described. We saw dolphins from the deck, got to watch a turtle nest excavation right outside the walkway from the house and on our last night there, we watched another turtle nest boil about a 1/4 mile down the beach. Lots of relaxation was had on our beach trip to Oak Island and this vacation house made that possible. Thank you for sharing your home.

Lovely family place

There were a lot of great things about this property. Location, family friendly (my kids loved the toys!), nice furnishings, comfy beds, location!! Only complaint related to a bit of water damage on the walls, which I know happens being oceanfront. We’d probably still go back though- nice touches everywhere!

Exceptional View

We really had a wonderful time in Oak Island. This property is clean and nicely appointed. The view from the back deck is awesome. The house easily accommodated six adults and the amenities were great. We will definitely stay here again when we vacation in Oak Island.

We purchased this home in 2009. My family had vacationed at OKI since I was a child. We love our location in the middle of the island.

Our property is unique in that it is one of only a handful that has a “grandfathered” direct beach access. Our beach access directly in front of the house is only shared by our neighbors. We are also within walking distance to the Ocean Crest Pier and one of the best restaurants, Island Way.
