Modern Farmhouse Cottage on 250 Acre Farm Near Ark: No Cleaning Fee!

Swiss Hills Cottage sits nestled behind a cow pasture on our 250 acre farm in Dry Ridge, KY. Relax and enjoy beautiful sunsets, rolling Kentucky hills, and peaceful pastures from the rocking chairs on our front porch OR from our beautiful fire pit. The interior is a thoughtfully designed modern-farmhouse-lover’s dream! Conveniently located in Dry Ridge north of Williamstown, just 10 min off I-75 and 18 min from the Ark Encounter.

Our private fire pit is cozy year round! It features seating for four (a porch swing and 2 Adirondack chairs) and a Solo Stove fire pit. Wood and fire starting supplies are provided. (Please note, the fire pit won't be available for bonfires if a "burn ban" is ever placed on our area. Rare, but it does happen.)

Children are welcome; however, please be aware the stairs to the loft are very steep.

This crisp, clean, modern-farmhouse cottage features shiplap walls and a 16' cathedral ceiling that makes the house feel larger than its 384 sq ft main floor plus 120 sq ft loft.

The house is strategically located so you can enjoy the best sunset view on the farm!

Main floor bedroom has a queen-sized bed with a memory foam mattress and cozy bedding.

There is also a full-sized sleeper sofa in the main living area.

The loft has another couch that folds down into a bed (futon).

***We have provided a twin-size 2" memory foam mattress topper to make the loft futon more comfortable for sleeping.***

Extra bedding, pillows, towels, hand soap, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hair dryer are provided.

Things to do in Northern Kentucky: Country Pumpkins Fall Festival. The Ark Encounter, Creation Museum, Kentucky Horse Park, Turfway Park (horse racing), horse farm tours, Big Bone Lick State Park, Williamstown Lake, Boltz Lake, shopping, and dining. We are just 45 minutes from Cincinnati, OH where you can enjoy Reds games, Bengals games, Cincinnati Cyclones Hockey, the Cincinnati Zoo, the Newport Aquarium, Riverbend Music Center, Cincinnati Museum Center, shopping, and dining experiences.

Shelley and Matt were wonderful hosts. A charming and cozy place to stay. We were visiting the Ark encounter and this was close by and a great place to relax and unwind. We really enjoyed the modern farmhouse feel and all the attention to detail. Would absolutely recommend!

Absolutely loved it! Great get-away, farm charm! Host thought of everything for a most comfortable stay. Nice and quiet, out of the city, beautiful country and great place to stay near The Ark Encounter. We will definitely be back!!!!!!!! I imagine this when the leaves change and how lovely and cozy it is in the winter. Any time of year, highly recommend! Enjoy!

Country Cottage

We had a wonderful stay. Not only is the cottage adorable; It is in a wonderful location and close to the Ark Encounter. The views were outstanding. The cottage was very well appointed and had everything we needed. The owner takes great pride in their rental. It was extremely clean and very comfortable. We would not hesitate to stay there again if ever in the area.

Excellent place!

The house was so clean, had everything we needed and the property was so peaceful and serene. A mother deer and her fawn even came out to say "hi" as I sat on the porch in the evening.

The moment we pulled up we were surprised at how beautiful the property and setting was. It is so quiet and serene. The cottage was so clean and had everything we needed. Some added perks were the popcorn and ice cream for us to enjoy. The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice and warm. We were able to enjoy the fire pit and swing, watching the beautiful sunset. It was one of our most enjoyable stays.

Clean, quiet, and safe!

Perfect location for what we did, Ark Encounter, Creation Museum, Churchill Downs, and Claiborne Farm. Very clean, quiet and safe location. Amenities and Accommodations were perfect. Would def stay here again and highly recommend to anyone.

This rental is perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful stay. The porch overlooks hills, there is a great view of the sunset, and cows are mooing in the background. The house itself is very clean and has everything you need. The host is excellent at communication and provides a list of things to do in the area and places to eat.

Everything was great. The only complaint we have is the sleeping amenities. The pull out bed from the couch was not comfortable at all. You could feel the bar under the mattress even with a mattress topper. The main bed is very, very firm. Other than that it was awesome and would recommend anyone to stay.

My wife and I were greeted with a special Happy Anniversary message upon arrival at the cottage. This was a very sweet personal touch to make us feel welcome! Shelley and her husband Matt have dreamed for years of owning their own rental property. It’s amazing to see it finally come to life here on our beautiful farm in Northern Kentucky. Our house name, Swiss Hills Cottage, honors the heritage of this land, home to Brown Swiss dairy cows since 1994. Matt’s parents still have a raw milk dairy operation on the farm to this day. In the fall, we also host the popular Country Pumpkins Fall Festival complete with u-pick pumpkins, hayrides, corn maze, petting zoo, and more.
