Hilltop Retreat on 13 Wooded Acres | Stars, Spa, and Solitude

Just 22 miles north of San Francisco, perched atop a private ridge in tranquil Nicasio, this spacious guest studio (tucked below the main house) offers one of the Bay Area’s most secluded and soul-nourishing getaways. Surrounded by forest and dark night skies, it’s a sanctuary of stillness—with excellent WiFi and cell service when you need to plug in.

A scenic, one-mile paved drive (windy and a little bumpy) leads you to our forested retreat. Down 24 steps from the unit, you'll find a serene outdoor spa area with a hot tub under the stars, outdoor shower, cold plunge, and a seasonal fire pit (lit by host). A sauna is available by reservation for an additional fee.

Inside, you’ll find designer furnishings, high-end linens, a new Casper memory foam mattress, down comforter, and carefully curated art. The spacious studio has its own entrance, private deck, and a functional workspace with excellent WiFi.

Ample parking and easy access—just 25 minutes from the nearest downtown. You’ll feel a world away, yet not far from everything.

Good to Know
Our property is peaceful, but occasional ambient noise from the main house is possible.

The studio is ideal for two. For a small fee, we can add a rollaway bed and linens for a child or third guest. Please request and confirm in advance so our cleaners are prepared.

Early check-in or late check-out (up to 2 hours) may be available for $25. Please ask and we’ll coordinate with the cleaning team.

We respect that guests come here to rest, reflect, and reconnect—and we honor that with care and quiet.

When I say middle of nowhere... middle of nowhere!! It was GORGEOUS. There are adorable frogs at night, but even with a few windows open overnight, it wasn't loud at all. The hot tub, sauna & cold plunge were there and available. The spot was easy to find. It was comfortable. I appreciate the heaters that were made available.I think we will try to come back.

I had no contact info and though booking was confirmed for 3 adults, there was one queen bed, never saw info on extra sleeping arrangements. We pulled deck cushions in to create 2 beds. Now the owner is questioning that action and says cleaners had to work longer. The spot is very nice, but remote and almost impossible to get a ride share. It took hours, though owner said it would be very easy. Directions to house were convoluted, difficult to follow on a dangerous road. Stairway at house was unlit and treacherous at night. We were, overall, extremely disappointed.

Absolutely beautiful location - so remote, but only 30 minutes to San Rafael or Pt. Reyes. The road is indeed steep, but directions were easy to follow and it is well marked and maintained. Fabulous spot for people who enjoy the outdoors and walking/hiking.

The studio was in an incredible location, alhough from the photos I thought we'd have that expansive view. Turned out that the studio next door had the deck and drop dead view but the guests there were very sweet and let us enjoy it as well. the host was also very communicative and kind and the studio itself was clean and very nice. Would've enjoyed it more if my husband had not come down with a cold and it rained but highly recommend! Great place!

Beautiful secluded stay

We really enjoyed our stay here on a family vacation. It was quiet, well maintained, and we especially loved the hot tub! Elizabeth was quick with communication and provided plenty of information on the area as well. Would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Beautiful spot

I was in the area for the Point Reyes Bird Festival. The unit is in an idyllic spot surrounded by hills and forest. It is a couple miles off the main road on a steep winding private road but worth the trip. I would recommend arriving during daylight.

Beautiful location

This property is in a stunning location with a beautiful view. The place was spotlessly clean and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. The hosts were super friendly and helpful and made sure I had everything I needed. Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting the area. Lots of great hiking near by and close enough to restaurants and other activities.

Close to the trees

Beautiful, peaceful location and it was a very short drive to Pt Reyes. My only suggestion for improvement would be to supply coffee cups. We would definitely stay there again.

It was great we would stay there again!

My friend and I enjoyed staying at this Studio in Paradise. The place was convenient to where we were going and the accommodations are nice. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and the view. The host is super nice. The unit was equipped for two separate people to stay and we are very grateful we chose this place.
