Lovely mountain home w/ large deck and forest view

Gorgeous lakeside cabin with breathtaking view of the mountains and trees all around. Our cabin sits in the mountains with very quiet neighborhood, pls respect that and enjoy some peaceful moments away from city chaos.

This beautiful mountain home is situated on 3 acres and well furnished with all brand new essentials. You could enjoy one of the best mountain views in the area from the large deck, enjoy outdoor BBQ, or do birdwatch in the day and stargaze by night.

Only a short drive from Redding, lake Shasta caverns, Mt. Shasta, Lassen and so many more beautiful places to explore year round! It is the perfect place to get away, rest & relax!

Guest access
The house is less than 10 mins (less than 2 miles) from I5 exit and located at the end of a dead road, note the last mile is partially unpaved, steep and curvy. Outside, there is plenty of room for parking boats, RVs, side by sides... bring all the toys! There is also a smart lock on the front door for your easy self checkin.

The space
Our cabin sits in the mountains with very quiet neighborhood, pls respect that and enjoy the peaceful moments away from all city chaos.

The main family / living room has an open to structure design with vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, a gorgeous wood burning fireplace, power reclining sofas with drop down table, 65 inch Sony Smart TV, xBox, Roku and popular board games suited for both kids and adults.

The kitchen is fully equipped with brand new smart gas stove, toaster, microwave oven, large fridge, other appliances and all basic kitchen utensils & supplies. There is a fully stocked Tea/Coffee/Snack corner with coffees, teas, sweeteners to make drink how you prefer it. We also provide pantry essentials such as salt, pepper, oil, chili and filtered drinking water.

There are 3 bedrooms with 4 beds. We provide a king size bed in the ample master suite with standing desk and leather sofa, there is also a large walk-in closet and a full bath. You could open the sliding door to enjoy the deck from master room directly. The other two bedrooms have queen size bed, queen size bed plus full size bed each and share a full bath. All beds and beddings are brand new and well tested comfortable, we hope to provide you the best sleeping experience.

Come stay at our house and make life-long memories with friends and family experiencing a variety of activities and attractions that you can only find in the Shasta Cascade Region. Whether you're planning to play in the lake, hike a near volcano, fly fish in a world-class rivers or simply spend some time among the woodpeckers and hummingbirds, we can't wait to host you.

The listing was accurate and the host was very attentive to our communications and questions. The place was a very nice place for peace and quiet time. The weather was active while we were there, but the host checked in on us and made sure everything went well.

The entire house was incredibly clean, and the beds were comfortable. We appreciated the quick response from the owner. There were a few things we wish we would have known ahead of time. The oven wasn't working properly (before we arrived) and spent a few cold nights because we didn't have access to turn on the heater. Once we mentioned the heat, the owner was quick to turn it on remotely, which we appreciated. It was also a bit further out than we anticipated by the wording on the listing, which was overall fine, but not originally anticipated.

Such a relaxing mountain retreat. Very comfortable vacation home. Ten-minute drive to Bridge Bay Marina on Lake Shasta. Swamp cooler works great. Nice appliances.

Beautiful Home near Shasta Lake

We had a great time in this home which is about a 5-minute drive from Bailey Cove. The house is very clean and well taken care of. The hosts were extremely responsive. We rented a boat from Bridge Bay which was less than a 10 minutes drive from the house.

Bait and switch ???

My family has been staying the lodge in Obrien for the last 4 years.. everbody loved it,... til this year:{{ we made and paid for reservations several months ago, and I thought everything was set. We have several members that travel a long way to get there, so they usually check in first. My daughter called me late that night and said she was told there was no reservation. The office people were of no help!!! Finally i was notified that the cabin i had re nted was in No California about 400 miles away. This was not doable, so everyone had to fend for themselves... WHAT A NIGHTMARE.!!!! I looked up the listing, saw the picture and thought, yeah, this is the Obrien lodge. Theyre almost identical. My mistake. All i can say is make double sure the properety you are renting is actually the one you want!!! We certainly won't stay there again!!!!! Totally ruined a much needed family reunion. I hate to admit, it was all my fault. I thought that the Obrien lodge would have tried to find us another open spot, as there were many, no such luck.

Lovely Home, Spectacular View

Lovely mountain home with spectacular views! The home was spotless and we had no issues staying cool with the swamp cooler. Communication was great with the owner. Internet worked great for being up in the mountains. We hope to return soon!

The property is amazing. The house is lovely. We love the view and panorama windows. The deck is amazing. The only problem, there is no central AC, While we arrived, there was 88 Degree inside of the house. The cooling system was not able to cool the house down for 24 hours. The first night was Difficult for us to sleep it was 84 during the night. Probably the best time to go to that area in the spring or fall. But property is amazing.

We really like the place

We enjoyed our time in this house, the house has all the essential you need, really clean in the inside, and the view is incredible. The only thing is that the neighbor is not a dog friendly, we bring our dog, she is a beagle and like most of the dogs she barks at strangers when I came outside to put her in so she doesn’t bother the neighbor, the neighbor started yelling at me to shut my dog or she will do it or to use a bark collar. I was surprised and stay quiet because I have never had an experience like that after the event I wasn’t comfortable leaving my dog out. Just be aware if you are planning to take your dog there is a not pet friendly neighbor. Other than that we enjoyed our time there.

Mixed feelings...

The original post on VRBO listed a Hot Tub at the property, told everyone to bring their suits....no Hot Tub! Owner apologized with no explanation as to why no Hot Tub and gave me a $100 refund. When we arrived the refrigerator was not working. Repairman came at 8:00 am the next morning only to declare bad compressor, can't get new part for a week. Owner wanted us to stay home the next day in order for a new fridge to be delivered, we declined as it was our last day there....had to purchase another cooler and ice bags for 3 days....not very convenient. Otherwise the place was nice and secluded.

Comfortable

Cabin was extremely clean and had everything needed. They even included shampoo and body wash and left a lovely box of chocolate’s. All the cabinets were labeled with the contents which we found super helpful. The owners were excellent in regard to communication and very helpful. Didn’t expect neighbors to be quite as close as they were, the ones below stayed up all night talking. They weren’t extremely loud but we were still able to hear them.

Mountain treasure

From start to finish great experience overall. The host was very nice made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin was clean and well equipped. The cabin offered spectacular views very cozy and kid friendly. I highly recommended others to stay in what I call a hidden little treasure in the beautiful mountains.

Beautiful property but...

This is a great property and we did enjoy our stay. However after booking, you are told there's a mile of unpaved road to the house. Could not take the car we had planned on and glad we didn't. this place is kept very skinny. Water heater turned down so you can't get hot water.on the shower. Only one trash bag in kitchen available. Bring extra toilet paper and paper towels. If it was there I couldn't find it. Most of the house is labeled clearly and the included coffee and maker was a great surprise. Lastly if your going to have a wine and cheese board labled wouldn't you think there's a wine opener? Since you're in the middle of nowhere. Would have bought one in town if I knew. Overall a nice house in a great area

Fabulous house, great views

This house was exactly as described. We were a family of five (all adult kids), and had a great time in the area. We enjoyed the house, its remote location with spectacular deck and views. The host was responsive and accurate with the property description. We definitely will come back when in the area. One of the best holiday rental experiences we have had.

Shasta Lake vacation

Our stay at this cabin was great , the place was clean , and very nice , quiet , and peaceful . Close to the lake easy access to the Marina . Only down side was finding places to eat out , but if you like to bbq then your all good , i would rent this cabin again for sure

Comfortable, Clean, and Beautifully Situated!

I came with my teen and tween kiddos to enjoy the lake, caverns and surrounding area. Zeying's communication was great. What I loved was that I felt trusted as a guest and was not micro-managed or given long lists of rules and procedures. The property was beautiful and included everything we needed. I grocery shopped before I arrived and brought spices, oils, condiments, and additional appliances for the meals I wanted to prepare, but the kitchen had the basic necessities. Everything was incredibly clean and comfortable. All amenities were as listed. We really enjoyed relaxing in the hammock and deck chairs, played some of the games provided, and were able to access all our streaming services. The view was wonderful and the area very quiet. We were grateful our two cats were welcome and they warmed up to the house nicely. I have no suggestions for improvement and would like to stay here again.
