Historic Downtown Hudson Home

An original 1833 home in the heart of Hudson Historic District. Recent award-winning restoration preserving original features and character, while adding updated amenities. Stroll down to nearby shops and a selection of great independent restaurants, or enjoy cooking in the farmhouse-style dine-in kitchen. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is close by with 100+ miles of trails for hiking, biking and trail running. Kayak the beautiful Cuyahoga River. Short drive to enjoy the world renowned Cleveland Orchestra at their summer home at Blossom Music Center. Easy access to all the sporting events and rich culture of North East Ohio.
Our Greek Revival home is spacious and full of natural light. A ton of character from the exposed post and beam structure and original woodwork dating back to the early New England settlers. At night it's very cozy with comfy leather furniture in front of a blazing log fire. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare gourmet meals from local farm produce and the Heinens grocery store in walking distance.
We're an English couple fully immersed in the cultural, culinary and outdoor delights of our region. We're totally ready to provide you all the help you need in planning a spectacular stay at our home.

The house is a very cool historic home. But with a nicely upgraded kitchen that makes the stay comfortable. Room sizes are good. The downstairs bedroom and bath make it nice for putting kids to bed then relaxing. Super close walk to a nice grocery store and downtown restaurants and shops. Would stay here again!

Everything was just as advertised! Very comfortable stay and the hosts have been so thoughtful including instructions and recommendations. Hudson is so cute and very walkable from the Wayside! CVNP was a short and convenient drive from the property. Would definitely stay here again!

This property was the perfect home for my family to gather and enjoy a weekend with my elderly parents who both live in senior housing (Hudson & Aurora) . The house itself is historic but in no way outdated. So fun to learn its history and imagine life in Hudson in the 1800’s. Location is ideal- we walked downtown Hudson and the neighborhood every day. What a gorgeous town! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in this lovely home, the alternative of staying in a hotel would have been a very different weekend.

Great historic house! Very cozy and comfy. It was warmer than expected so we didn't get to use the fireplace but I'm sure it would be lovely!

If you’re looking for a beautiful, historic home in the heart of downtown Hudson, look no further. I’m so happy to have found Wayside. It’s a great property for a small family, or in my case, a few friends to enjoy being able to walk to all the enjoyable activities in this charming town.

Historic Home

The house was quaint and the host was very good. There were a couple of items that could have been cleaned better but nothing that would stop me from staying again. The upstairs rooms are hot in the summer.

Sweet historic property

The renovated historic house is nestled between lovely gardens, front and back, and is a few minutes’ walk to good coffee (we brought back our coffee and sat on the patio overlooking little garden in the morning). The property is close to a great little grocery store (again, a few minutes’ walk), and the rest that downtown has to offer (quite a variety of restaurants for a small town). The kitchen is spacious and open and good for hanging out, as is the living/dining room. The property was perfect for our needs — and we really enjoyed our stay.

This was my second stay in this house, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. The house is charming and comfortable, and always very clean. The owner, Stuart, is very helpful and friendly. I love being able to walk to a coffee shop and restaurants, while also having a short drive to Cuyahoga Valley National Park for hiking and sightseeing. I plan to come back again in the future!

Charming getaway weekend

This is the most beautiful home. It had lots of character, was very clean and well stocked and the owner was very nice. We came for 3 days to explore the area and were not disappointed. The proximity to shops and restaurants cannot be beat. We would stay here again in the future.

Historical home in the green

Lovely historical home with modern conveniences located right in the center of Hudson. I could even hear the clock tower chiming! We loved the fireplace which gave the place a wonderfully cozy feel during the snow storm. Our considerate host cleared the snow from driveway and walks!
