Hootsnest is quietly tucked away in a wonderful up north cottage community centered by its privately owned non-motor Grass Lake (one blocks walk away). The cottage offers 4 seasons of scenic views next to thousands of acres of State Land with trail heads all the way to Houghton Lake. Outdoor security camera and keyless entry at entry Setup for a casual relaxed experience filled with up north trees all around, spacious private yard, firepits, hiking, sunset enjoyment nearby at several beach and boat towns like Houghton, Higgins, Pratt, and Budd Lake for swimming, skiing, fishing, trailing. Stay in or take in local small town shopping & restaurants stops in Harrison, Gladwin, Houghton and more!

Awesome stay!

We would definitely come back. The property was clean and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Property owners were great with offering information for the area and we really appreciated that. I would recommend this place to friends looking for a spot to stay. Thanks so much!

It is the best example of a real up north Michigan cabin!!!

Stephanie getted us even after a late check in. She was so sweet and gave us the tour. The cabin was so cozy. Had everything we needed and wanted. I would love to come back in the fall for a long weekend.

We had a great stay!!!

The hosts were very helpful throughout the whole stay, making sure we had everything we needed and recommending things in the area. The location was very peaceful and quiet we didn’t spend a lot of time at the cabin, one reason we picked it is it’s proximity to so many other things to explore in the area but if you’re also looking for a relaxing place to kick back by the fire this would also be a great spot. Great getaway

The cabin is cozy and comfy!! Also, it is kept clean. There is a nice firepit out back which makes the evenings fun. We met some nice people there. I felt safe the entire time. The hostess is very nice and accommodating. I forgot to sign the guest book, but I would write in it; perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle. The hotspot was a huge help for watching TV and doing some work.

Great for a quiet family getaway secluded but not to far from many many lakes and town.

This was a great little place, exactly as described and being pet friendly. Our host was extremly helpful with info and was easy to contact if we needed anything. Thanks for a great getaway.
