All the modern amenities in a 1947 authentic cabin. Located minutes away from summer and winter amenities! Parking on the paved driveway with easy level access.
Relax on the spacious deck with loads of family games, or relax around the firepit with an evening cocktail. Inside, there is plenty of room for games or family dinners on the 9' dining table! New comfortable beds with smart TV's in every room. The kitchen has all new appliances and small appliances for easy, fast meals. There is a propane grill under the covered deck area for year round grilling. Mini split system for air conditioning on those occasionally hot days in the mountains and in addition to the heat from the mini splits, a wood burning fireplace with a blower for cozy nights in the snow! The property backs up the the Stanislaus National Forest for easy hiking. We are located 20 minutes from Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge Ski Resort! Twain Harte is 3 miles down the road for shopping and great restaurants. Hiking, swimming, skiing, snowshoeing or just relaxing, this year round cabin has it all! Lots of restaurants nearby for those who aren't into cooking. We love having your dogs join in the fun too! (Note: we do charge a pet fee).
Wood is supplied in the winter.

Note: Winter weather may bring snow. Please note that we do not accept any liability if you’re snowed in/out, experience loss of power, road closures, or other issues out of the host's control. Power outages may happen due to weather, summer during fire season and winter due to snow/freeze, PG&E shut off, etc. If you book the cabin you are accepting these possibilities and will not receive a refund. We recommend all guests get their own trip insurance if you are concerned about these possibilities. We also recommend all guests carry chains in the winter. Please note that snow is not removed from the property by the hosts. However, shovels are provided for guests.

Loved the location, amenities and more. Owners thought of all the little details; popcorn, coffee, hot chocolate etc... which were much appreciated. Dog friendly was a huge plus!!

Great week in a great cabin.

This cabin was terrific. Only 1/4 mile or less from Highway 108, but very quiet. Great scenery. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing week. The grill and patio were perfect for evening meals, and the beds were comfortable. Lots of activities and great restaurants nearby. A terrific vacation all around.

Cabin Retreat

This cozy cabin was the perfect place for us to stay while we were waiting to move into our house. Was so beautiful and peaceful and was the perfect spot for us to decompress during our move. Stayed for 10 days and the cabin was fully stocked with everything you need. I would recommend to anyone looking for the perfect cabin retreat.

Amazing Time!

Beautiful home, beautiful location! We had an incredible time. Really appreciated the A/C and the overall coziness of the cabin. The games were a great bonus. Hosts were attentive and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect family get-away

We absolutely loved staying at this cabin. It was so cozy and comfortable with tons of entertainment for the kids. I didnt hear "Mom, I'm bored" even one time during our stay. Teresa was very responsive and kind. We hope to be back...maybe a snow trip!

Amazing Cabin

This cabin was amazing! It was very clean. It had so many extra touches that made it feel like home. We loved all the games both inside and outside. All the beds were comfy. Perfect location for trips to Pinecrest and Twain Harte had some amazing restaurants.

Christmas get away

Our family enjoyed two nights in this cabin. Beautiful cabin and had all the amenities we needed. They had it all decorated for Christmas and made it special for us. Thank you so much. We look forward to coming back later in the winter for a weekend in the snow.

Had a great time in the snow

Loved the cabin even in a snow storm. The electricity was off for a night and full day then came up the following night. It was nice having the wood burning stove.

Beautiful Place for a Family Vacation!

We just returned from a wonderful stay at the Mi-Wuk Cabin. The cabin was beautifully decorated, clean and the owners made such careful consideration in every amenity offered. It definitely was a 5 star cabin! The backyard games provided made the time together even more special. Thank you to Teresa for continually emailing to ensure we had everything we needed!

Cozy cabin in the woods

In 30 years of using vacation rentals, this was by far the best stocked of any. Completely functional kitchen with every appliance, pans and spices you can imagine. There was a wonderful treat basket provided in the kitchen. The supply of towels was fantastic and fluffy,soft. Every game you could want was there. The grandchildren loved the outdoor activities provided. We are anxious to return.

Family fun

Property is rustic but modernized for comfort. We enjoyed the deck, hot tub, and outdoor games. The large dining room was a nice place to gather for dinner and talk about the day. My favorite part was a cup of coffee and a soak before heading out to the lake or horseback riding. It was hot so the air conditioner proved a life saver. Right next door is the library which was nice.

Relaxing 4th of July

Teresa and Scott’s cabin is amazing! Their attention to detail is seen throughout the cabin. They have everything you need and then some. The inside is beautiful and cozy. The huge outside deck was our favorite. We enjoyed the warm weather from morning to night, soaking in the hot tub to roasting marshmallows over the fire pit. We also enjoyed multiple games of cornhole and our pups loved exploring (on leashes) the huge back area. We can’t wait to plan our next visit!

Delightful stay

We visited during October 2023. We had a great time at Scott and Teresa's cabin. They had everything that was needed for a comfortable stay. Kitchen has all supplies like pots, pans, spices, coffee etc. The whole cabin had great decor. We had fun with the popcorn machine. Our kids had fun with the bunk beds. The backyard has so many games for spending nice quality time with family. The hot tub was nice to relax at the end of the day. Overall we had a great stay at the cabin. The host was very communicative.

Fun family ski weekend

We really enjoyed this cabin for a family ski weekend. We were lucky to be there when there was tons of snow and even made a little sled run in the backyard. Check in was very easy, and we had great communication with the owner throughout. With all the snow we were glad that the cabin has a fairly level driveway and no stairs to the front door. It's also close to the main road (Hwy 108) so the access was easy, yet it's still quiet and we didn't hear the road. The cabin was very clean and well taken care of. They provided lots of fluffy white towels, and the blankets and linens were fresh and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting in the hot tub in the evenings and looking up at all the stars. We had a little trouble getting the wood stove going and contacted the owner and she responded right away and helped us figure it out. We would love to go back and experience the cabin and the area in other seasons too!

This cabin was everything we could have imagined and more!

Our stay at this cabin far exceeded any expectations that we had going in! We typically over pack for trips, but over packing for this trip was an understatement. We could have left half of it behind. They had everything that you could imagine and so much more. The kitchen was stocked with all of the dishes, silverware, glasses, spices etc. They even had coffee, sugar, creamer! We forgot our air-fryer, but they even had that! They had sleds, toys, games and every knick-knack you could imagine! We brought our own wood, but they even had a huge supply of wood for use on those cold nights! We got so lucky on the timing! When we showed up there was not any snow to be seen, but 4 hours later it started snowing and we got about 5 inches of snow over night! We were able to make a snow sled run down the hill in the back. It wasn't super long, but as it got icy and used more it was perfect. Kept our 9 year old busy the rest of the trip. Can't say enough about this cabin and I hope we get the chance to visit again! Thank you so much Scott & Teresa for letting us share your cabin!

Your hosts are Scott and Teresa Lane. We bought this 1947 cabin and fell in love with the rustic charm. The 1950's decor, not so much. We spent 8 months renovating the entire cabin keeping the rustic nature. We love our little red cabin so much, we decided to share it with you! The name Golden Pines came from our 3 Golden Retrievers, Gracie and Murphy and our newest member of the family, Riley our Golden Doodle puppy, who loves it as much as we do! We hope you enjoy your time in the mountains! Teresa is always just a text away for any questions, suggestions or issues that may arise.

Golden Pines is exactly what you imagine when you think "rustic cabin", however, it has all the modern amenities! The back deck has so many family games with outdoor eating areas, firepit area, and lounging area. Games off deck that take up a bit more room! Outdoor lighting to create a relaxing atmosphere with thousands of stars, seemingly close enough to touch! You can check them out with the telescope on the deck! Inside the cabin is plenty of room to spread out or spend quality family time together, playing games, puzzles, watching movies or just hanging out. Depending on the weather, you can curl up with a warm fire and blankets or cool off with air conditioning in the living room and each bedroom. All rooms are equipped with overhead fans. The beds are new and super comfortable with nightstands and lights for reading. Each room has a smart tv. Our kitchen has everything you need to create simple meals to Thanksgiving dinner!
The brand new bathroom has all the essentials you might need. We provide shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. There is a hair dryer in each bathroom. We even have an ":OOP'S I FORGOT" tray for those items you might have left at home! There are make-up towels specifically for removing your makeup or washing dirty little feet! Speaking of little, we have a high chair, porta crib, outdoor and indoor gates and kids plates/cups for your little ones. For your 4 legged kids we provide poop bags, chew toys, a dog bed, food and water bowls.
Golden Pines has so many extra's to list. Whatever type of getaway you are looking for, Golden Pines will meet your expectations. Just come in with our easy keyless entry, drop your bags and RELAX!!!

Mi Wuk Village is located in the wonderful mountains of the Stanislaus National Forrest. This 4 season area has something for everyone throughout the year! Golden Pines has all the amenities for an amazing "staycation" or just minutes away you will find yourself at Pinecrest Lake for all water activities, hiking trails right next door or all around the area. There's shopping at boutique shops in Twain Harte and amazing restaurants and local eateries for any type of pallet. Mini golf for the kids in Twain Harte or for the more advanced, a 9 hole course. If you like gambling, Black Oak Casino has it all!! For the history enthusiast, Columbia National Park will take you back to the gold mining days. You can even pan for real gold!! If you like wine tasting, there are several in the area.
In the winter, the "Closest Snow To Home" is 20 minutes up the road at Dodge Ridge Ski Resort. Skiing, snow boarding, sledding and snow play all in one beautiful family friendly resort. Pinecrest lake has the perfect trails for snow shoeing too! Or, stay at the cabin and make a snow man or have a snowball fight right in your own backyard! After a day in the snow, come in and make a nice fire and a cup of hot chocolate to warm up.
In the fall and spring there are still many things to do! Local areas always have craft fairs with items from our locals. Restaurants are open all year and so are most of the local attractions. It's less busy during this time - a great time for some peace and quiet.
Any time of year...Golden Pines is the place to be for an amazing time in the mountains!
