Wake to a beautiful sunrise, with Main Street 5 min away from this pastoral setting. Return with your favorite bottle of wine to enjoy a gorgeous Texas sunset.

Shangri La welcomes you with a pair of Adirondack Chairs on the spacious front deck ...... everything you need to enjoy your secluded yet fun and funky experience.
The space
Part of the Odonata Escape experience, Shangri La offers you the warmth of a unique design, the experience of shipping container construction, and the peacefulness of the Fredericksburg Hill Country rural experience.

Shangri La is bathed in the warmth of the Fredericksburg country, only 3.5 miles from Main Street (yet 100's of miles from the city with the wild deer, turkey, rabbits, and swarms of birds that call the plaza and compound home).

An opulent king size bed invites you, but you can also partake of the daybed nook to read (or just watch outside the windows). A full, private bathroom adds to the stay.

Shangri La includes a mini kitchen, with microwave, toaster oven, mini-fridge, utensils and plates, and (of course) a Keurig machine to brew that Joe to sip on when you use the deck chairs on your deck to enjoy the setting.

The hosts were amazing, Mary was very kind to respond promptly to any questions! She left me everything necessary for s’mores! The room was great and had everything you could need. My dog was able to use the hay field on the property to run around and get energy out! There are beautiful sunrises and sunsets, campfire and backyard games on the property, and it is only 10 min from town.

Reclaimed elegance

The elegance and cleanliness of the container houses was excellent. The property is beautiful with a lovely common area and the hosts were fantastic.

A nice getaway close to Fredericksburg

We booked this place due to its close proximity to Fredericksburg and really enjoyed it. The room was very well cleaned and decorated very nicely. Both the hosts and the hosts father were incredibly kind and welcoming and joined us around the shared fire for a bit. The only thing I didn’t know was that the containers were made up of two units - there were no pictures of this on the listing, so I felt it was a bit misleading. It worked out because our direct neighbors weren’t usually home when we were, but we felt it would be a little too close for comfort if they were. PSA - if you are looking for units with more privacy, I would pick the A Or B ones. Thank you for having us and being such kind hosts!

Amazing Trip!!!

JD and Mary Susan were the best hosts. We were greated by JD within 10 minutes of getting situated at cabin. He has a fire fit in the center of the property for all the guest to mingle together at night. They were so helpful by providing recommendations all weekend about the nearby attractions and restaurants. We will hands down be staying here the next time we visit Fredericksburg. Thank you both for making our 1st Anniversary Trip so memorable.
