Margate is perfect for those who want to enjoy a small town lifestyle with access to big city nightlife. Its sense of community shines through its stunning mix of new homes and those which have stood along the tree and fountain-lined streets for over 100 years. Margate boasts numerous places to worship, shop and play; including a tree-lined walkable business district filled with restaurants, cafes and boutique shops offering a variety of eclectic wares and mouth-watering flavor profiles.

Our waterfront boasts some of the most stunning sunsets along the Jersey Shore and there are many draws for those who enjoy watersports, including paddle-boarding, jet skiing, fishing and boating. After a day on the water, enjoy a meal on the waterfront at one of our many restaurants which feature fare from casual to meals that will satisfy the most select palate.

Margate has many opportunities for the vacationer looking to be in the middle of everything. After you have seen our National Historic Landmark, the famed Lucy the Elephant, join the nature lovers birdwatching in the nearby marsh areas or travel to our neighboring communities like Atlantic City where the opportunities for date night include comedy shows, concerts and casinos. Margate hosts the largest beach party at the Jersey Shore every summer, Beachstock.

Great place - best for heavy sleepers

This property was perfectly located and was extremely charming! All of the amenities were just as listed on the Vrbo site, but there is no way to know that the A/C is very loud, and the ceiling fan is even louder. The back bedroom has the outside A/C unit next to it, so every time the A/C kicked on, it would wake up our daughter. So we put her in another bedroom, and the ceiling fan (when on) was very noisy. She did not sleep well during our stay, which made it hard for us to sleep. This place is best suited for folks that can sleep through noise - or maybe it’s better in the winter, when A/C and fans are not needed. Other than these things, it was a lovely spot!

Good and potentially better in the future

Beach house amenities were lacking. Beach chairs were sized for children, not adults. Back deck and outside shower needed to be power washed. We never used it due to appearance. A garden hose would help tenants keep sand out of home and clean beach chairs. Listing should mention that the three bedrooms share one bathroom on second floor. The second bathroom was on the first level and not convenient for older guests at night. Parking was good and front deck was comfortable. Location was outstanding.

Great location! Clean and awesome host!

Had a great weekend away! Beds were comfortable (could use a few extra pillows), fully stocked, clean, easy walk to main strip and beach! Of note the one full bath is downstairs, but still nice to have 2 full baths accessible in home. Would certainly stay again!

Convenient, clean, great location

Our family of five plus dogs started here for a week of fun on the beach. The property including all the linens were very clean and well-kept. Check-in was seamless. Host was very easy to communicate with through the VRBO app. Outdoor shower was super useful after a long day at the beach, just a short stroll down the block. I'd never been to margate before but the beach and surf eerr excellent, the town itself was very nice and quiet, and it's a short ride to the boardwalk amusements at ocean city.

Great location w/comfortable accommodations

We booked a few weeks before our stay and were very happy about the property. The 2 large bedrooms are comfortable and the third is small but fine. It was walking distance to beach and many restaurants & shops. Highly recommend!

We didn’t know the main bathroom was shared and in the hall. No private bath in master suite. 3 rd bedroom no closet. Converted. Deck off master was a bonus. Great location and easy beach access.

Margate vacation

Great location. Easy walk to beach. Two minute drive to paddleboard rentals and inflatable water park. 1/2 mile to local restaurants. Short drive to Ventnor and Atlantic City. One block from Longport. House was comfortable and owner was nice to work with.

Better than Imagined

This was one of the best properties we have stayed at using VRBO. Allyson, the host, was so helpful and responsive. The property is gorgeous. It was spotless and cozy. The home had plenty of linens and kitchen amenities. The central air was refreshing after a long day at the beach. The hosts thought of everything down to the tiniest detail. For example, they had fully stocked handsoap ready at every sink. The walk to the beach was shorter than expected and very easy for us to do even with a one year old and tons of beach gear. We loved the peaceful neighborhood. The home is in walking distance to shops, restaurants, and miniature golf. We had an amazing stay and hope to return. I'd give this property more than 5'stars if I could!!

The property is located in a beautiful, peaceful neighborhood just steps to the beach in addition to fabulous restaurants and shops. We love how centrally located we are to the best of what Margate has to offer. You will not be disappointed with the proximity to everything!

While there are so many things we love about our home, the absolute best part by far is the location. We are so close to the beach (you can see it from the street and master deck!) and one block from Longport. We are also located so close to many renowned restaurants, shopping, attractions, and walking/biking distance to Amherst Avenue where you'll find Steve & Cookie's, Tomato's, Island Aqua Park, and Memories. Guests have access to the entire home plus the front porch, back patio, and driveway which includes private off street parking for up to 3 cars.
