Convenient

Comfy beds, useful if minimalist kitchen, surprisingly quiet for such a central location. Do note that the unit is upstairs with no elevator—not an issue for us, but could be for others. Also—the parking is tight, but we soon figured out to let passengers out before pulling into the spot.

Visit to Redwoods

The apartment was clean and comfortable, just as described by owner. It was only a block off the square in Arcata so easy access to shops and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and family.

A Great Little Place

We were in Arcata for a week to visit family. This VRBO was conveniently located to restaurants, grocery stores, shopping and walkable to the Marsh which is a bird sanctuary. The unit is cozy and is furnished with everything you need. It was located on the second floor. The washer and dryer is off the car port down below and it costs 3.50 to wash and dry a load. Make sure you have plenty of quarters. We found you had to wash the dishes and silverware before using as we discovered some were not clean because there is no dishwasher. We slept very comfortably. We would stay here again if we are in the area.

Family trip to Arcata, CA!

We loved our stay in Arcata. It's a classy VRBO with the perfect location near the center of town. The shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance from the property. The VRBO gets a 5 star rating for all the facilities including the heating and the WiFi. We look forward to renting this VRBO again!

Great location, right near the square

Lovely, clean, apartment near the square in Rcata. Everything was easy (parking, access, communication), beds were super comfy, a great place to stay to visit Arcata and CalPoly Humboldt!

Wonderful

The property was in good condition, clean and well supplied. Farmers market was in the plaza, walking distance. Lots of friendly locals and restaurants.

Arcata home

This home in arcata was perfect. Close enough to walk everywhere in arcata, not only that but just a short trip to Trinidad or eureka. 5 minute walk to downtown arcata and farmers market with all the shops, 4 minute walk to the Finnish hot tubs also. The home was very cozy, clean and the bedding was very comfortable. Had everything we needed for the days we stayed. There were plenty of bath towels and the water pressure in the shower was awesome! Very quiet location and safe. Parking was adequate and off the street, the parking has sensored lighting when you pull in which I really liked for late nights. Thank you Larry for your hospitality. We will be back.

Perfect spot to enjoy Arcata

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely upstairs home. We walked everywhere including to the farmers market, grocery stores, and a restaurant. The fireplace creates a cozy spot where we enjoyed meals and conversation. We highly recommend you consider this lovely home and enjoy the unique atmosphere of Arcata.

A great place to stay in Arcata

This was a way better option than sharing a hotel room with our adult son. Excellent walkability to town for dinner or cvs for any forgotten items. Great communication from owner. Overall happy with our choice to stay here.

Not up to standards

The layout of this 2 bedroom apartment was the right size for 2 adults, and the location was perfect, but it was dirty. It was obvious the stove top, countertops, and refrigerator hadn't been cleaned. There was heavy dust on all windowsills, dust and detritus along the baseboards in the kitchen and bathroom, dust on all the shelves and kitchen lampshade, the bathroom mirror hadn't been cleaned, there were towels in the laundry hamper (which turned out to be clean), and there was a hole in the bottom sheet on one of the beds. To his credit, when I called the owner, he sent over the housekeeper who did her best to remedy some of these problems before she had to go to her next job. He even offered us a full refund if we wanted to find something else. Since it was dark and pouring rain, we decided to make the best of it, and enjoyed our stay after doing some cleaning of our own. This really could be a nice place, but needs some detailed care. The sink in the bathroom has a big crack in it, one of the lampshades in the living room is torn, and light bulbs in the 3 lamps in the living room are all different shades. On the other hand, all the electronics worked great, and the instructions from the owner, even though he wasn't on site, were clear and accurate. He and the housekeeper were also very considerate about our sensitivity to perfumes. We absolutely loved the location as we could walk just about everywhere in between exploring the redwoods, which was the reason for our trip.
