What a beautiful place! Group of 8 stayed and used the home as our base for E-biking in the Lanesboro area. The home is spacious, clean with everything we needed. Enjoyed watching a doe with twin fawns munch on apples both in the mornings and evenings. Great trails and scenery in the area. We'll be back again next year. Jessica was very responsiveive and accomodating

The host was very prompt replying to messages ahead of our visit. It was hard to use the front door lock box and not sure what we were doing wrong but the hosts provided phone numbers for any issues and numbers are posted by the front door which were appreciated. Hosts might provide check-out cleaning instructions as I needed to ask. The VRBO description also indicates there are walking trails on the property, but we did not know where or how to access them. I saw QR codes for the trout stream but do not have a smart phone. Not everyone can access information via QR codes. The TV and speaker in the kitchen randomly came on and we had to figure out three remotes to turn off. Is this TV on a timer as we were not close to the TV or remotes when it came on. We appreciated the beautiful setting and spacious home. All else went well. Blessings!

Long weekend get away

Very beautiful place. Very private and accommodations were perfect. There was 8 of us that came down for a long weekend of trout fishing and golfing. A sauna on the site would have made it perfect.

Beautiful spot

The cabin was very large, and the property was beautiful. It was a great stay, the only thing we were surprised by is that the walls don’t go all the way to the roof upstairs so it could get a little loud- just make sure everyone is heading to bed at the same time!

Perfect getaway from the city

We just loved our time here! What a beautiful home and property. So much space for everyone but a cozy feel at the same time. We spent most of our time outside exploring the property. Great place to get away from the hustle of the city and enjoy the nature. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed. Bathrooms and bedrooms were spacious and clean. We can’t wait to go back in the summer or fall!

Beautiful home in the valley

This place is highly recommended and is the perfect getaway for the family! The home was spacious, more than enough to accommodate our big group. The beds are comfortable, cookware are plentiful, and the board games kept the kids busy. The available amenities provided us with everything we needed. Jessica is a wonderful host and was quick to respond to any questions. Thank you for a memorable weekend! Everyone was able to unwind and enjoy some peace and quiet. We will definitely visit again!

Awesome venue

Our stay was just awesome! Great facility for our Family. We were in an out all weekend! So we did spend much time outside but the scenery was beautiful. Saw and dodged several turtles. They were both ok. I think one was nesting in the driveway outside the garage. So be careful. The host was a great communicator and all our questions were answered properly. Would definitely return again.

Beautiful Property with some issues

Cabin and location are absolutely beautiful. Cabin well stocked for kitchen so cooking was easy. Host very responsive for questions and concerns. Clean cabin besides the issue I mention below.Stayed during a very warm weekend, but there was little we could do to cool the cabin. AC was barely able to push out cool air and there werent screens on windows to all us to vent hot air or pull in cooler air at night. Sleeping temperature was around 90 degrees in the upstairs bedrooms.Porch doors also had trouble staying shut, so it was also wide open when we arrived and due to this a bird was trapped inside as well as bugs. Removed bird ourselves and cleaned up bird poop and bugs before relaxing. The host has said that they will address those concerns, so hopefully the situation will be better for future guests.

We are so sorry for the inconvenience and so glad you brought this to our attention. We had a HVAC service call after you left and the AC was not functioning properly and overrunning due to the extreme heat. We have ordered a new and bigger unit that will be installed this week along with new locks and window screens. If you book again, please accept 20% off our regular price.

Terrific family vacation home

The house was beautiful and spacious. The beds were very comfortable and there were extra pillows and blankets available. We loved the large, well provisioned kitchen and the two refrigerators. Lots of dishes, glasses of all kinds, and more pots and pans and baking pans than I've ever seen in a rental! The hosts have thoughtfully provided little bins of those things that are often forgotten (toothbrush, comb, etc.) as well as tea, creamers, sugar and sweetners. A bin of left behind bug spray was nice, although we really did not encounter many mosquitos the week we were there (so dry). The freezer in the garage had extra bags of ice which was great because it is a long drive to the nearest store and the ice maker was not keeping up with our group of 8. Jessica (the host) was very responsive to our queries. We loved the large selection of games and puzzles. We also loved the beautiful pool table and the foosball table. We made good use of all of them. We used the gas grill many nights, ran out of propane, contacted Jessica who quickly replied and said if we would go ahead and refill both tanks, she would reimburse us. We left behind some information on the local towns and activities. We went mini-golfing, bowling, out for ice cream, biking and hiking. Tried fishing in the trout stream, too. Fabulous family vacation in a quiet rural location.

This home is on a private 200 acre property is part of a family farm that is now all forest land originally in 1894. In 2001, Ron and Jackie Hatlevig built their dream house on the farm. The dream was for the home to be very open with log construction and beams and a spacious kitchen. The home was built using many of the Amish barn construction techniques. The home has huge post and beam construction using notches and wooden pegs.

The property comes with a fully equipped kitchen complete with two fridges, a deep freeze (in the garage) and a microwave as well as pots, pans and dishes. The owners have made sure to provide all the possibly forgotten essentials in carefully labeled containers in the pantry — no late night runs for essentials will be necessary for their guests!

The kitchen centerpiece is a wood stove which had been in the original farmhouse, moved to the Hatlevig home near Rushford, and later returned to a place of honor created specifically for it in the new house.

"It’s really quiet here; you can fly fish and swim in the creek, hike, and just look at the stars — it’s a different world than in the cities
The home offers entertainment for that occasional rainy day — a large assortment of books, puzzles, games, and even a couple Barbie houses handmade by Ron for his girls are available.

この宿泊施設の特徴

Amish-built home is unique to the area; many people from the cities are not familiar with the Amish culture. The home is big enough for extended families to stay. The home is listed as 12-person occupancy, but there is room for additional people at an additional fee.
