Loaded with opportunities for nature lovers from skiing at nearby Ski Apache to fishing, hiking, biking, or horseback riding in Alto Lake and Recreation Area, Nana & Papa's Mountain Retreat's Mountain Retreat is the perfect place from which to experience it all. Just a short drive away, Ruidoso Downs Racetrack features horse racing during the summer months. Ruidoso Winter Park offers snow tubing in the winter months and zip-lining year-round. For the golf enthusiast, to the Links a short drive away. And a half an hour away, Fort Stanton-Snowy River Cave National Conservation Area, the Hubbard Museum of the American West, the art galleries and artisan shops of Sudderth Drive, and Grindstone Lake and Trail System offer even more fun diversions.

And then there's Nana & Papa's Mountain Retreat's Mountain Retreat itself. This home sleeps six altogether and features three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, an amazing deck, and lush forest and mountain views. Sumptuous seating and floors make the living area a delightful place to spend time with family or friends, whether you’re watching a movie on the DVD player after a day of skiing or hiking, surfing the web courtesy of the free Wi-Fi, or just having a chat by the corner with heavy while enjoying a cup of cocoa or a glass of wine.

Nana & Papa's Mountain Retreat's dining area is a great place to gather for a family meal or game of cards, while the kitchen has everything you need to prepare as simple or lavish a meal as you could wish. Plus, a washer and dryer negate the need to find a Laundromat (or over pack)!

Home was amazing the check in and check out was quick and painless. The view was beautiful and we'll definitely be back to stay whenever we make it back to Ruidoso.

Relaxing stay. Lake levels were low so fishing was not done at Alto Lake but at Bonita. Check out procedures did not include information on where dumpsters were located. A call to the office was made and the access code given. Perhaps more information on Alto locations of where trash is to be taken would be helpful.

Needs a deep clean

The property needs a good deep clean on top of just paying attention to detail during a normal clean. We found dirty floors, spills that ran down the oven, dishwasher, dirty microwave, etc. all the sinks needed to be cleaned around the drains. The headboards had a layer of dust. Cobwebs in the corners of ceilings Positives would be new toilets and one updated shower with super hot water! I did reclean the new shower because I saw hair and shower soap scum that just needed to be cleaned up.

December Stay

Some dirty dishes, dirty coffee maker, trash left behind and internet would not stay on, but nice location.
