Out of town/No place to stay
I booked this property for a low-key gathering for my daughter's 16th birthday. The host contacted me an hour before check in with the code and to inform me that the property was without power. Unfortunately my family and I were well on our way to the to property as well as other family and friends we were meeting. Prior to arriving I had informed the host that we could not stay in a property without power. I kept checking with the host hoping the "power outage" would be resolved before we arrived. When my family and I arrived at the property, I see the other houses in the neighborhood all had power and I thought maybe power had been restored to the house we were renting; no such luck. The owner called just as we were walking in the house; while we were on the phone, I did a walk through and it was apparent the power had been out for days. My impression of the property is that it was as pictured from what I could see, however the outside of the property could use some TLC. I didn't feel that the owner was being forthcoming with me so I called GA Power to get an ETA as to when the power would be restored to the property. The GA Power rep said that there was a drop service order for the property due to repairs and told me to contact the owner. The host messages me and states that my money had been refunded. I had to wait for our other guests to arrive and find somewhere for us last minute. The host could have made me aware of this more than an hour before.
