We were very disappointed with the maintenance of this cabin. Upon arrival, we noticed how dirty the interior was. (Urine stains on outside of the toilet, dirt and chip crumbs on the top bunk, chip bags, water bottles, and a pillow left under the beds and living room futon. It also looked unswept and unvacuumed.) The lighting was very dim, one of the wheels on the vacuum was broken making it hard to push, and they had a dollar store broom with a broken handle for us to use in the kitchen. Most of the kitchen pans had Teflon that was scraped very badly, making them unusable to us. They advertised a gas grill for us to use if we would bring our own propane, which we did, but the self ignitions were all broken and the burners/covers were rusted and broken only allowing a very small flame to come out, making it useless for our family of 9. The first blanket we pulled out of the trunk stocked with extra bedding, was dirty and dead leaves fell out on the floor when we unfolded it. The extra queen mattress pad that we wanted to put on the futon had blood stains on it. It had been washed, but the stains were still there. We were required to bring our own bath linens, but the owners only supplied 2 dish towels for our whole week. We couldn't keep them dry and there were no laundry machines to dry them with. The coffee maker was dirty and it badly leaked water all over the counter each morning when we used it, soaking everything within 2 feet. There was a large list of cleaning requirements left for us with the threat of not returning our deposit if not done. (Including: vacuum, sweep, fold blankets and comforters, empty trash cans, wipe down the bathroom...) To top it off, when we made bacon the last morning and the kitchen filled with smoke, we noticed that the fire alarm battery was dead this whole time! As we left the cabin, 2 of us got stung by the bees that had a nest under the front porch. On a good note, the lake was very private and we loved spending time as a family out on the lake and having campfires.
