Welcome to "Puna Tiki". A comfortable bedroom with a private entrance & small private bathroom. 10 minutes from Pahoa Village with restaurants & shops. 35 minutes from Historic Hilo Town with much to see!! Hawaiian Volcano Park is about 45 minutes away with a crazy view of the lava in the caldera (recommend night visit to really take it in.)

She has thought everything thru and turned a spare areas in back of her home into a fine living quarters, totally adequate for a good night sleep and for cleaning up and relaxing.

Gracious fun host!

Very nice private location. Shared bath not a problem. Melanie was fun! Helped us find unique local attractions. We would definitely return if ever possible.

Great Value

The room I stayed in was decorated very Hawaianish. Melanie communicated well, I just didn’t listen well. Shared bathroom with one other person which was sort of outside and felt a little like camping but nicer. I loved it and having coffee and pot there was nice touch. Melanie checked in with me several times to see if i needed anything. Mahalo.

Fair listing

The room is like on the pictures. We were a bit disapointed by the area of the listing, but the mistake could really on our end by not doing enough research. The room was super clean. It got pretty hot during our stay even with the fans on, but this is out of the owners control😊 The bathroom and general living area are outside, a bit like camping. Overall fair for the price we paid.

The room was clean, the sheets were clean, there was a fridge, the host had clearly made an intentional effort to make the place clean and inviting. The bathroom is separate, down a short hallway, but you have your own. They have built out two small rooms, and each has its own bathroom. If you want a resort, this is not it. I'll say that, but it's better. It's tucked far away in a quiet neighborhood with no tourists, and no noise. I really just wanted a place to sleep while I was out exploring during the day, and that's what this place is! One of my favorite memories from our entire trip was just getting up early and going for a walk in the neighborhood, not seeing another person, and hearing nothing but the birds and the wind. It really is tucked far away from life in the best possible way. (That being said there's a town just a couple miles up the road) If you want to feel like a traveler in Hawaii, not a tourist, this is it. There was one minor issue that popped up while we stayed, I shot the host a message and they had it solved within 20 minutes. They really are good people who care, care about the quality of their place, and act accordingly. They went out of their way to come say hello and ask if we needed anything when we showed up, and actually even let me borrow a charging cord when I left mine at home. Good people, great place, comfy bed, unbeatable price.

Es war sehr günstig für Hawaii insbesondere, Vermieterin sehr nett. Wc und Dusche draußen, hab mich damit nicht so wohl gefühlt. Plastikgeschirr machts bissel billig.

There is a bus that stops near here that is about a five minute walk to get to if you don't have a rental car, it will take you into the Village and all the way to Hilo. Hele-on Bus route 401 works nicely!
